Just don't live here if you have a better choice, really. I've lived there for couple years. I moved out last year, and I just wanna do this late review to help people make their choice. The apartment is just too old. It's crazy hot in summer, especially on the second floor. the AC is really sucks, old and doing nothing but making a lot of noise. Trust me, this single problem will drive you crazy in the summer. And this is not the only problem. Parking is terrible, there is not enough place for parking, and there's always visitor park on the side and block you in or out. You can spend 30 mins just for getting into your own signing parking lot. And yes, the mice problem is true. You will definitely having fun with mice, fly, and cockroach here. And finally, the people. There are a lot of college kids here and make sure you're ready for this. I can hear my neighbor having sex, talk on the phone, fight with his girlfriend, shout to his dog, and listen his rap music in midnight. I saw people sit on the stair and enjoy their weed in evening. I've seen college kids getting drunk and fight in the parking lot. Honestly, staff here are nice. At least make sure who is your neighbor before moving in. Or, you might have to hear your neighbor having sex at least few times a week and listen your neighbor's party music in the midnight frequently. Good luck. read more

I would not recommend anyone looking to rent an apartment to choose Walnut Heights. The leasing office staff, particularly the Property Manager do not handle complaints/requests. The property manager is friends with one of the residents who is harassing other tenants here at Walnut Heights. This specific resident has been very hostile and confrontational and has verbally and physically assaulted many members of our complex. After all the complaints to the Property Manager nothing has been done about this. Police have been called and these incidents have been reported but the property manager just said that she can't do anything. Both the property manager and this resident have had a negative impact on our apartment complex. The trash cans are always overfilled, the property is a mess. Work orders are never completed, they are just closed without maintenance checking on the issues. I am very disappointed in the fact that I pay a slightly high rent to live in a very below average community. I most definitely will not be renewing my lease. read more

I recently had a tour of your walnut heights apartments. I was texting with the manager during my self tour. I asked him if there was any units available with a patio or balcony. He then said yes but it won't be available till 11/25 . I said would I be able to move from one unit to 1047 the one with patio. He said yes. Because they have a 30 day policy. I said great can I do that then? Move from 139 to 1047 on 11/25? He said yes. I said ok let's get it started. He sent me the application. Then when everything was done and we sign he then tells me I can not move to 1047 because he rented it out already while he was telling me I can move in to 1047. That's false advertising. That's so wrong to do to someone just to get their money.Moving is stressful already and he does that. Horrible customer service.  Now today they tell me the apartment I'm suppose to move into 10/29 isn't going to be ready till 10/28. A day before move in is when I can see the apartment for the very first time??? The managers ignore calls too. No one has gotten back to me for 3 days already. My husband had to call all day yesterday to finally get someone on the phone. This seriously has been such a nightmare and crazy experience. I want what I was told I can have. I still have the text messages and emails that have the conversation. it's honestly kinda ridiculous. read more

Living at Walnut Heights Apartment Complex was one of the worst decision I made in my entire college career. This apartment complex has almost no parking (they give you 2 parking spots for a 3 person apartment), all of the appliances in the complex are cheap and barely work, the walls are so thin you can always hear your neighbors (I called courtesy patrol almost every night), and they nickel and dime you for every little thing. If you ever need something fixed, be prepared to wait weeks and weeks for someone to actually come out and take a look at it. When I informed the staff that water pouring into my bathroom from upstairs was a violation of my rights as a tenant, they told me "sorry for the inconvenience". My list of complaints goes on and on. I lived here one year. they provide one parking spot for a 2 bedroom apartment. there is a church you can't park at near by, you can't park on the street and there is a stator brothers you can't park at over night. this place would work for you if you have a one car family. they have visitor parking which is always taken. read more

I move here from the end of July,it's really a good apartment.The two beautiful lady in office are very nice.I just bring my son to attend the fall party.My son love it very much,he also gets a blue balloon which he love to plays with.The only thing I can't stand is the ooooold dishwasher here.it's too old to use,the dish is still dirty after washing.I applied many times,but still can not get a better one to use. read more

"Mid-day or evening, summer or winter, Walnut Heights always has a quiet atmosphere." This is a lie. Period. My family has stayed here for about ~4 years now because it has been relatively affordable. But our next door neighbors have remained as noisy, drunk, inconsiderate college students the entire time. I don't know if they're Cal Poly or Mt. SAC students (other reviews have pointed out that there are a large number of Mt. SAC students living in the area, so I'll guess that they're Mt. SAC students), but they've stuck around for a while. These students smoke cigarette and weed right outside other people's windows (the smoke literally travels into your apartment unless you shut your windows), party to 2~3 am on WEEKDAYS like it's a dorm (I don't think they care that there are families with children living here), and trash the complex like it's their living room. One time I heard a guy scream "I'm going to bash this in" from the parking lot. I looked out of my window and saw a college-aged guy holding up a broken "One-Way" sign RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FAMILY'S CAR. I made eye contact with him and he ran away. What was going to happen if I hadn't caught that person in the act? What would've happened if I didn't look out and catch him in time? I don't think the management would've taken responsibility, and I don't think it would've been easy to catch the culprit. Some of the Mt. SAC students make this environment hostile, unsafe, and noisy. PERIOD. The students not only host parties in their rooms (with the bass turned up full blast) but also host parties outside in the alley behind the apartment. They will do this randomly at any time, any day of the week regardless of whether it's a weekday or not. Have a test tomorrow? Too bad. Have a child/baby that won't go to sleep? Too bad! They don't give a single f*ck. They've had the called the cops on them multiple times but they *still* blast their music, get drunk, and disrupt the entire neighborhood. However, calling on the cops does subdue the partying somewhat. So I do recommend CALLING THE COPS ON THEM AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN. I think it also helps to instill the idea that OTHER PEOPLE LIVE IN THIS APARTMENT, and that THIS APARTMENT IS NOT THEIR DORM. On a side note, the courtesy number for noise complaints have been discontinued for a while now (about 3 years?). The only option is to talk to a group of drunk college students at midnight in person to quiet down (and trust me, they won't listen to you; one time around midnight, they came up to my door, knocked on it, and started swearing at me) or to call the police. I recommend the latter option. We found a mouse in the kitchen once, and the AC is pretty bad and so is the heater; they only heat/cool the immediate vicinity and don't do anything to modulate temperatures in the rooms/kitchen at all. The parking lot is very small. My family owns just one (small) car, however, so it hasn't been much of a problem. There are a few positive points to mention. As another reviewer pointed out, the proximity to Stater Bros, 7/11, and a variety of other shops/restaurants is very convenient. It makes your life a lot easier if you groceries are just a minute's walk away. The layout/design of the complex as a whole is pretty and neat. The apartment itself has its flaws but it's a very nice complex overall. HOWEVER, some of the Mt. SAC students who live here have disrupted everyone's everyday lives so much that it's been a stressful, tiring, and frustrating experience (not all Mt. SAC students are unruly and noisy, but most of the noise and trouble has been coming from Mt. SAC students). If Walnut Heights Apartments truly gave weight to their word, they would do more to listen to noise complaints, re-institute the courtesy number for noise complaints, and kick people out if they've offended one too many times. It'll be beneficial for both the managers/company and the residents if trouble-making, unruly, disruptive inhabitants are removed; it'll improve quality of life, encourage less people to move out, and will make the apartment more attractive to potential buyers/residents. I'd give negative stars if I could, but I guess one star will have to do for now. Edit: I also forgot to mention that some of the college students will get drunk at daylight and start pissing over people's parking spots. My parking spot smelled like piss for the longest time thanks to those asshats. read more

This complex is absolutely horrible. It is literally a dump. The carports smell like urine. Urine! There's always people parking in your spot or parked in the driveway. There is no security. This place claims there's actual security people..never saw them. Also, the gate is always broken and doors to get to the carports is always open with a shopping cart. The trash area is always disgusting. People do not clean up after their dogs. There was poop all over the place. The laundry units are disgusting as well. I would have to take cleaning products to clean the washing machine before washing my clothes. All they do is hose it down with water and call that "cleaning." They would also clean the laundry unit at like 11am. This should be done prior to it opening. The gym is a joke. Shopping carts everywhere! I did not want to have guests over because this place is so embarrassing. Management is unprofessional and useless. They don't respond to anything, emails -no reply, you call - no answer. I put in a request to have the AC cleaned and It never happened. And there is no central AC so come on. The pipes are super old, whenever my neighbors showered I could hear the water running loudly. So loud. Loud music from students all the time, nothing is ever enforced. read more

Staff always are super friendly security patrol it's here after sunset, here are reasons why I like to live here : it's quiet, my parking spaces are available store and restaurants are not far away freeways 10 ,57 and 60 are quickly to access, I can walk at night without problem pool it's available for summer For the the last 3 years we enjoyed it every Monday gardener are here cleaning and taking care of the beautiful gardens ,maintenance guys are always available as soon as you need them.My family and I we have several cars parking it can be an issue but if you walk in to leasing office they always have day pass parking. After leaving here for the pass 3 years we been thinking to stay one more year leasing office Deanna and Yaris they both are amazing, every time I have a concern or issue I feel very comfortable to approach them and talk to them. until today they have been taking care of every thing for my family and I ...... once again thank you Ladies (Deanna and Yaris ) for your great efficient and professional help that you both always provide us. PS. After 3 years leaving here we have not seen a insect or mice in my apartment. Plus Ecolab guys are here very often. read more

The entire team at Walnut Heights Apartments is wonderful. The leasing office team and the maintenance team are super responsive to any needs or requests. The portal makes it so easy to submit requests for maintenance repairs, any little fixes that need to be done, packages held at the leasing office...this is a great property because the people who are here making it happen are great. So this place is straight garbage. Point blank period. I just moved out and they have just charged us up the yin yang for absolutely nothing. This entire time I've lived in this complex it has been an absolute nightmare. The office people are terrible, the maintenance people are worthless. We submitted countless times to get problems fixed in the apartment and only one in the course of a year had been taken care of but only after we had to harass the office. Today I got the move out statement and they said they needed to replace the entire carpet in the apartment that they claimed was "new" when we moved in. They also charged us for paint which why? They purposely try to charge you for everything and anything they can. There are a lot of college students living in the complex who have also mentioned they got charged for things that they shouldn't have been charged for and management couldn't explain. The complex is filthy itself. It was a last resort place that we had to move into. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I'm absolute disgusted and appalled by how unprofessional the staff is. Do not live here. read more

Management does what they can with resources available; but resources are Very VERY limited. Pool was down during hottest time of summer. Bed bugs are huge breakouts here, and they make you sign off on them. They Nickle and Dime you for every single thing and try to over look California law. Pictures of bed bug bites from here will be attached in my yelp review. Very loud complex, you can even hear the person in the next apartment over. College kids are an inconvience and I'm sure the managers put some of them on projects. After announcing we were going to sue, couencdiently my sisters car got broken into and her purse and credit cards were stolen. Matinece takes several weeks even to just get a sink fixed. Overall just don't chose this place even if it is your last resort. Parking is the worst and they tow your car if your parked incorrectly. My lease is up in June so I'm looking for a place I came here to Walnut heights and when I got here office is closed but I really wanted to see the area because Walnut looks nice to me. I really think that they should put a sign up if they're out for lunch or if they're out touring especially if there's only one person in the office, also parking here is very difficult. The leasing agent 'Arlena' asked me if I had an appointment like if she wouldn't show it to me if I didn't but to my surprise she was very welcoming & hospitable she offered us drinks and showed us the two and three-bedroom and gave us tips because we're not able to use the specials that are now available she told me that she would email me the specials. What I first thought was gonna put me in a bad mood & ruin my day ended up being a good tour the lady was pretty funny and helpful and not that many people seem to cheer me up after I'm angry so when I get close to my move I'm definitely going to consider these Apartments because they're nice but there's nice Apartments everywhere. But mostly because the service that I was offered was very helpful and she was very attentive and that makes a lot of difference pricing is fair and also they're painting and renovating which is a good sign. read more

Walnut Heights is in a perfect location in the City of Walnut. You are close to both 60 and 10 Fwys and right across the street from Mt. Sac and minutes from Cal Poly Pomona. The managers and maintenance staff are prompt and friendly. There one bedrooms are very spacious and some have a patio that is also bigger than your typical apartment patio. Its definitely a must see. They also just upgraded their laundry facility which runs conveniently from your debit card to wash and dry. read more

Mixture of both college and family environment. Staff is very curtious, friendly, and professional. The college students and their kids will yell at the top of their lungs and play basketball in the loudest way possible. You think it doesn't concern you if you live on the second floor? nice try but the walls are practically plastic. you can hear evrey single FUCKING THING that's going on outside. Guess what also happens when you have thin walls. IT'S HOT AS SHIT in the summer due to ABOSOLUTELY 0 INSULATION. and you AC doesnt even have the ability to drop the temperature down 1 degree. Oh yeah did i mention that the college students will decide to smoke cigs and weed right under your stairway and hog the entire staircase? There's absolutely nothing you can do about it because the smoke just travels all the way and permeate through the non existent walls. If you wanna go down and argue with them, NOPE, it'll be a hate crime because you are targetting them for their ethnicity. This place is literally a shithole. Dont do it. its not worth it. (unless you are a mt.sac student, in which case you're not getting anywhere if you enroll in a community college so I'd suggest you go look for a job on a construction site right about now) read more

Been here for several months now and am extremely pleased with everything overall. The area is safe and quite. Shopping and parks are within a mile. Pool, gym and laundry are well maintained. All the residents go about their business and don't seem to interfere with one another. The apartments themselves are a pretty decent size. They are not fancy but they are not run down. It's definitely better than expected for apartment living. Sure the parking is limited but everyone gets a spot and if you have 5 or 6 people living in one place, you're going to have trouble parking anywhere. We have run in to a few minor issues within the apartment but Deanna (the property manager) has been terrific. She has addressed everything in a timely, efficient manner. She's a sweetheart. All in all, no complaints. read more
