The exterior of the barn and location looked like nothing special, but as they say dont judge a place by how it looks. The location its self was completly zen with a twist for a barn with variety of natural goods, tart cherry juice, upcycled goods, vegetarian snacks, dried goods, garlic, few Maple Sugar products, CBD oil and even have the orchard right on its location for cherry picking when there in season. She told me to go Facebook see what they had and give them a call. I did exactly that and I was blown away at the selection of ress fruits and vegetables available. I made my list and gave them a call. It took several tries to get through to place my order but with persistence I got through after about a half hour. I placed an order for bananas, pears, lemons, limes, kiwis, spinach, broccoli, yellow squash, green zucchini, ginger and onions. The woman I spoke to was super helpful and patient. Being that everything is discussed over the phone, she described how the broccoli was crowns not the whole stalk and the spinach was a bushel iof a good size for a salad but not enough if it was being cooked down. She told me which of the pears were sweeter based on what was a available. She really went above and beyond. A credit card number is required at the time of the order. I requested that my order be available the following morning. When I went to pick it up, I simply pulled up, called and they brought out my groceries. It was 4 large bags full of produce. Everything was fresh and hardy. I was quite impressed. It was the best $28 I could have spent. I can't wait to place another order.

It was a far drive for us but it was worth it as the scenery was beautiful. We arrived and they recorded us to a blanket with the prettiest picnic setup ever. We brought our own wine and they supplied a locally crafted charcuterie box and cupcakes. They have a beautiful barn and there were some gift items available for purchase. I imagine it would be an incredible place to boast a small wedding or summer event. After picking a bunch of lavender we watched the sun set with our wine and snacks while a guitarist serenaded us. The service was great and I would recommend it for anyone who likes a romantic evening.

I remember the first time I stumbled upon his fairly small booth, packed with all sorts of honey products : royal jelly, bee pollen, new zealand honeys, honey capsules, honeycomb... Until then, I'd only been familiar with a few of the more typical flower honeys. This place has a ton of honeys made from flowers you've probably never heard of. One of my favourite honeys from there isn't even really a honey but it's called beech forest honeydew. The best part of visiting Honey World is that he enthusiastically hands you sample after sample of honey, even after you insist that you're ok not trying any more. Even more funny is that for every sample he hands to you, he takes a sample for himself. I imagine he must eat a whole jar's worth of honey a day. Conclusion: A must-visit at St. Lawrence Market.

Wanted to bring my 1.5 Year old somewhere a bit more lowkey than the big wigs in town and also wanted to knock out pumpkins and apple picking at the same time- enter Blackman Homestead Farm. It ticked those boxes and also delicious slushies (apple cider and grape) just a missed opportunity for delicious pastries (hmm cinnamon donuts!) We thank goodness read Darlene's review about making a reservation and did that the day of around noon and was able to get in at 330! The reservation is made online and the farm is FREE to enter (amazing) but can't be changed or cancelled, however you only need it per carload, so unless you're bringing another car, you can tack on extra folks. We purchased some apples we picked (it was pretty low in the season to pick off the trees) and some that were all set for you in bins, a pumpkin, some cider, a tiny pumpkin and were surprised by the price. Gently it was not as expensive as I thought. Parking was quick and easy on a later Saturday afternoon, with a quick Hi to the Turkeys, some exploring around the pumpkins and picking some apples we had a good time after about an hour and half. I did noticed that it was well organized and lots of folks did disregard the signs: don't feed the Turkeys (grass) and pick up the apples you drop off the tree. There were alot of half eaten, throw apples on the ground which made me kind of sad. Please respect someone's rules and property, it's so nice to be able to come see the farm for free, I hope that doesn't change.
