I tweaked my back this morning and could not move. Called around to many offices near me to see if they accept new patients and if they could take me in as soon as possible. They were so accommodating and told me I could come in within 30 minutes even though they were booked. First appointment only costs $85 and they do accept certain insurances. Gave me a massage with an icy hot type of cream, then proceeded with the adjustment. Definitely got some relief and will need to come back for more visits. Thank you so much again! I had numbness in my arm and hand after working around my home. I was not sure what the problem was. I was referred to Dr. Lin, she provided a very careful evaluation and determined it was my Ulnar nerve that needed treatment. She massaged the entire area with oil and special tools followed by a cupping treatment. I felt immediate relief from my pain and numbness. I totally forgot to leave a review, I was not in the best headspace when it happened. But two years ago Dr. Lin changed my life. I had spent so many years jumping from one chiropractor to another and leading up to my disc becoming extruded, I spent so much money just to be told that I was fine, my spine was aligned, just maybe slight disc degeneration and bone spurs nothing else. Two years ago my back started to bother me in a way that seemed to escalate regardless of chiropractic visits. Within three months I had lost the ability to walk unassisted. By then, Dr.Lin was the 4th chiropractor I'd seen in less than six months. I was desperate. I lived with agonizing pain, i was taking 800mg ibuprofen every 3hours just to take the edge off. There was not a moment or position I could take without pain. It was because of Dr.Lin's great concern that she ordered an MRI and upon receiving it suggested I find an orthopedic surgeon immediately. Pro: Fast appointment and take all insurance con: ..Went in for our back pain but surprise she didn't even check my spine or any part my back and determined it was a muscle issue and started the treatment . I spend 20min on bed with heat lamp and eletro pad on my back then send home. No adjustment was made! When in fact my other chiropractor indicated my L5 is turned. I first visited the clinic after i had surgery last year. I remember Needing more treatment sessions but I had a very difficult schedule which clinic graciously accommodated. I don't think another clinic would have just done that for new clients. Since then, I've been coming regularly for acupuncture and cupping to relieve stress and sore muscles; nothing else works. And as if she's also a shrink, Dr Lin would also listen about my how my day went until I get my needles-- then I just take a nap lol Her husband, Stephen, who is also the clinic receptionist is just as friendly. I came in for back pain from a sport I play and she only asked me a bunch of questions and then decided to massage my lower back. Her massage was painful and did this for 5 minutes and was done. During this time she was massaging my lower back it was hurting so much, I didn't know if it was the way she was massaging me or if my back pain was making it hurt this much but when she started to massage my neck it also hurt the same amount so I came to the conclusion that it was her massaging technique that was making me feel pain. I was on the verge of crying while she was massaging me because it hurt so much. I was only in the room for 10 min and she did not make any adjustments just massaged me. Then she concluded to me probably needing to rethink or quit my sport. As the day went on my back was feeling really sore and hurt really bad when I touched it. I'm actually confused. Ok, so I just got off the phone with them. I called to find out if they do Chiropractic services on young active teens. My son is heavily into sports and has tension in his back. First, the person who answered the phone couldn't even understand what I said. I had to repeat myself numerous times, then after a bit, she said they only do machine adjustments. I said, oh I've never done that way only manual and asked for information. She said it is much gentler. So I said it should be good on a first timer or young person and she said yes. Then I said I also have an older teen son who also would also need services. And then she said I think you should look for Chiropractic services elsewhere. WTH? It was so random but I'm so confused as the fact either she didn't understand or didn't want to bother with teens. read more

A few years ago I had a terrible migraine that lasted longer than a couple days. When pain killers wouldn't work, I sought alternative medicine and was fortunate to have found Dr. Lin's practice close by. That session alone was so helpful and sure enough my migraine went away shortly after. Ever since then, I've been going a couple Saturdays per month for lower back and shoulder tension (I work in an office setting and can sit for hours at a computer). Cupping also relieves bad toxins from the body and I would have it done every week if I could! It's a relaxing experience and I always appreciate Dr. Lin's pleasant demeanor. I can't say enough about Dr. Lin. She is absolutely wonderful! I always feel welcome when I arrive and never have to wait longer than 5 minutes for my appointment. I was in a car accident and suffered head, neck, and back injuries. I explained that I was not open to having my neck cracked and preferred a more natural approach such as massage, cupping, and maybe acupuncture. She is so careful in her approach and makes sure I am comfortable and at ease with whatever treatment she is performing on me. Dr. Lin is so amazing!!!!! I have been suffering friom allergy for half of my life and at worst I can't lie down on my bed to sleep because I can't breathe when I lie down. My breathing is so shallow that I have to use a lot of energy to breath, enough air to my chest, just like running 100 meter race. Recently my allergy was getting so bad that I have many sleepless night. I called Dr. Lin to see if there is a way to FIX it. She just put some needles on my chest and my nose, and I can FEEL my stuffy nose begin to open and air coming in, and my breathing is getting deeper and deeper and then I fell to my best sleep ever!!! I recently had an achilles injury while playing basketball. I am very stubborn when it comes to seeing any type of doctor. After about 1.5months of rest and rehab I thought I was better and decided to exercise again and man I was wrong. The pain in my achilles alleviated to the point where it made it really difficult to walk, go up and down stairs. It started to scare me as I have never had an injury hurt this bad. My wife has been doing treatment with Dr. Lin for years and she told me to try it out. So I decided to go to my Kaiser Doctor and pushed to get an acupuncture referral (luckily for me my doctor was not difficult). Now on to Dr. Lin, she is knowledgeable and really cares for her patients. I told her my achilles issues and right away found my troubled issues. After visiting her once a week for about 4 weeks of treatment my pain was gone and now able to walk and exercise without pain. I still go back from time to time just to relax my sore muscles and relieve stress. The facility is clean and are very flexible with appointments. read more

My mom had horrible lower back pain so we went to see Dr. Joanna Lin for acupuncture. I was told over the phone from Dr. Lin that it would be $85 for the first visit and $50 for every visit after that. Well, our second visit ended up being $60. I have issues with dishonesty and greediness especially when the service was just ok to begin with. I don't have an issue with paying $60 if they would have conveyed that it was $60 in a nice way as I may have maybe misheard or misunderstood her or something, but what rubbed me the wrong way was the sharp tone from her and the negative behavior from her husband who is the receptionist. I honestly heard $50 for every visit after so all I was doing was just confirming, but I guess me questioning them warranted poor customer service. After paying $60, I said "Thank You" to her husband, who then completely ignores me. I knew right then and there that we would not be returning. Dr. Lin is pleasant. I would not say that she is personable, warm and friendly though. She is a woman of few words, I guess. When I asked what was wrong with my mom, her answers were superficial at best. What's most disappointing is that the acupuncture lasts only 20min and she uses very few needles so the pain never fully goes away. It's like she doesn't want to use a lot of needles on you to heal you completely so you keep coming back for more treatment and pay high costs. Office is outdated and equipment is old. She uses a wooden stick and dips it in some ointment to rub over the painful area, but I question the cleanliness of that because how does the ointment stay sterile if she keeps dipping and using it on every patient? I cannot recommend Dr. Lin. There are a lot of wonderful acupuncturists out there, you just have to find them. I found Dr. Kim at Rivernorth Acupuncture and he is amazing. He really takes the time to answer all your questions. He uses enough needles to cover the whole area that is painful and spares nothing when it comes to your treatment and relieving the pain. He also does cupping, heat therapy, offered some brochures on exercises that would help strengthen the lower back area. Plus put some patch on my mom's ear to help with calming the body and pain management. I mean, he went all out to make sure my mom wasn't in pain. Now that's service. Now the bonus is that he only charges $50 for all treatments mentioned above when Dr. Lin only did a few needles with electrical and heat lamp. See the difference? You make your choice and go knowing what you're getting...or lack thereof. read more

She has a high rating on Yelp, so that is why I came to her last year for my treatment. I had severe pain near my chest and the area below my armpit, and my pain reliever medicine did not seem to work. I was impressed by her website and her confidence as stated: "I specialize in pain management. I find pain where other doctors can't find with 'magic fingers' as praised by my patients, so your pain can be treated accurately and effectively...", so I gave her a try. First of all, the first 20% discount for a first time patient is not true. When I mentioned it to the man at the counter, he just coldly said "$89 for the first time, and cheaper afterward". Secondly, I did not see any advanced tools as she claimed except a small black smooth stone that fit into her small hand. She rubbed something to my skin, then used that stone to push, press, rub... for about 15 minutes at the painful area, and used the heat acupuncture needle treatment for the remaining time (about another 20 minutes). It hurt a bit, but I tried to endure my pain since I still believed in her. I came back for a second and the third time for treatment. She did the same thing with that black stone, nothing else. Now I came to hate that thing, since it made me feel more pain. This time, not only did the inner pain not go away, but more pain was added from the dark deep bruises caused by that stone. Later, I realized that she did not know what had caused my pain, and she tried hard without knowing it. Anyway, I should not have easily believed her advertising; she should have removed the 20% discount for new patients if she could not honor it. Also, as a doctor, she should know what she could do to reduce the pain, not add more to that, and be honest with her patients in whether she could treat them or not. I found Dr Lin in 2012, and thank goodness I did. I was plagued with small problems - back, knee, respiratory, high cholesterol, etc. She has been a wonderful help in all those areas. Her great knowledge of acupuncture, acupressure, massage, herbal remedies, and chiropractic treatment have helped me so much. She has the wonderful ability to really listen to what you are telling her, and understanding. She seems to immediately find the tender spot that is the origin of pain - it is uncanny. She is a Kaiser provider, covered under their insurance, another testimony to her great results for patients. She has her own office. To me that means she has enough of a patient following to support her own establishment. However, it is her professionalism, knowledge, and treatments that keep me going back to her. My first session began with an extensive health history in which Dr. Lin listened, asked questions, and then began treatment for my specific health issue. The needle placements were gentle and gave positive results. Following my treatment, I asked if herbal medicine would be helpful and she recommended one that would supplement my treatment. There was never any pressure to buy herbs or to continue treatments. Every weekly session I have with Dr. Lin begins with an update of my health issues. My treatment will vary accordingly, as well as the herbs to take to complement the treatment. She is very attentive to my needs; my treatments are anything but routine. They are specific for my ailment. For example, a skin problem that afflicted me was improved with her treatments, whereas, several dermatology appointments never gave the results I received from Dr. Lin. In addition to Dr. Lin's expertise and kindness, her husband, Stephen, runs the front office and is very friendly, extremely helpful and provides great service.
