We ordered pizzas from Walnut Speakeasy for a celebration we were having at work. We ordered 12 pizzas and salads. They got the supreme, cheese, veggie, cheese and sausage, and cheese and pepperoni pizzas. Picking up the order was fast and easy. The pizzas were still hot when they arrived and warm when eaten. I highly recommend Walnut Speakeasy.

We only ordered some appetizers and it was ok. Not bad but nothing amazing. The place looks like a sports bar and its a nice chill place, good for hanging out+ service was good as well. I would go back to try more stuff on the menu. Happy eating!

We met up with a few friends at Walnut Speakeasy over the Christmas holiday, and had a great time. The drink menu was good, the prices were reasonable, and it was the best soft pretzel any of us had tried for some time! We bought a second one :)

I don't remember our waitresses name but she was awesome!! Cocktails and nachos were 10/10. Our second time here (we are out of towners), and loved it! GREAT RANCH!!!

    Carrot cake - excellent!!

I went here for the first time based on other yelp reviews. There is ample parking in the side parking lot. The ambiance is nicely decorated and rustic. While the waitress was nice, she could have been more attentive (she was busy sitting down with her coworkers for a while). The the beer selection is ample but the cocktail choices they offer are limited. However they offer a few cocktails of the month. Also when I asked for a double Grey Goose and lemonade they literally doubled the price of the drink. Instead it should be $2 to $3 more. However the saganaki was fantastic and was a nice portion. Highly recommended! The Parmesan crusted honey mustard chicken was fresh and delicious. While I'm not a fan of honey mustard, you cannot taste it in this dish. I requested extra lemon herb sauce based on another review - great advice! The broccoli was very good. However, the mashed potatoes tasted like they came from box. I instead recommend subbing the side with a side of fettuccine pasta with extra lemon herb sauce over it. Also, the carrot cake was a nice portion, and fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back next time I am in the area!

I dined here a few weeks ago and the food and service was very good. We ordered the chicken wings which we thought were very good. Also got the southwestern egg rolls which I also recommend. We shared the rib entree which I wasn't much to rave about. It was really the sauce that was too tangy which I didn't like. I am used to a bit sweeter bbq sauce. Overall it was great service and I would come back again.

Before you move any further this isn't an actual speak easy like you're used to in the city of Chicago or any big city. This restaurant is basically a sports bar. The food & drink prices are awesome I give them that. But the service was not very welcoming. It isn't the worst service I've experienced but it's pretty up there. More so slow and on their time, but maybe it's different for everybody. The food is average not to mind blowing but gets the job done.

Very friendly. A little hidden gem with delicious food. We had wings with the Thursday special. We split Alamo (honey bbq with buffalo), garlic parmesan, and sweet Thai Chilli ... they were all juicy and flavorful. We also ordered a large fry which was a big plate of delicious hand cut fries! Bartender checked in frequently and was very kind. Chill atmosphere!

Then it felt like our bartender just wanted to be on her phone, she was also wearing sweatpants, versus before they dressed classier. So this deterred from them being a bit more of an upscale bar like it used to be. I don't believe I will be back.

And when the catherd is away, the cats will play. Or, in other words, when the show is over and the cast goes out, whatever establishment/cardboard box they claim as their own is likely in for loud, animated conversations, very slow decision-making, and all too many questions asked by people either showing how particular and refined their tastes are, or who just want to make their friends laugh offstage instead of onstage. That's what Vern's got this past Saturday, a smattering of cast, crew, and crowd, arriving post-show, because thankfully this place was still open. And the early returns seemed good. Great, even. The decor was quite nice (permanent decor, anyway- the seasonal decorations seemed cheap and unnecessary). The menu also looked intriguing, even to a fellow who drinks quite infrequently. And those in the party needing food were happy to hear they could still get a sampling of some small items even as we approached midnight. The two tiki drinks at the table were big winners (Fireflies at Dusk and The Sea Urchin), while the Curtain Jerker cocktail and the pretzels were met with far less fanfare. Again, it is possible that our brash menagerie overwhelmed what might have otherwise been a quiet night at Vern's, but everything - including water and checks - took some time to reach the table. Like noticeable, uncomfortable time. And at least one bar patron had been served well beyond reason. After talking and feeling (!) up our director - apparently they were acquaintances, but still, yikes - this guy came up to me with "a warning." Naturally, I was intrigued. "Your jaw," he says, then pauses for drunken effect. Um, is it about to get punched, what? "...Something about you..." Something good? Something bad? What? "Matthew McConaughey..." Oh! Well okay. Could be worse (I'll let you be the judge, check my profile picture if you want). So- glad to not be entangled in fisticuffs, and happy this drunk was out of my face, it was at this point I noticed that not even the staff was masked up. Huh... Strange night, indeed.

I've been there many times, pre-renovation, and now twice since renovation. One of the things I like most is that the owner so clearly loves what she's doing and is almost always there, interacting with customers and bringing cheer and warmth. The place feels--especially in the summer time--like sitting on a European street. The food is always tasty (the deviled eggs especially), the drinks are creative. I could use a slightly wider cocktail list that incorporates varying base spirits and experiments a bit more, but what they serve up is good.

The menu isn't overwhelming which is nice. They have a variety of plates but not enough of a choice to make you look for days. We ordered cocktails, which were nice and strong, but also refreshing. The open air made it feel like we were in a vacation resort. Our server was polite and would go and check about anything we had questions about. Real top notch fella. We started with raw oysters which were good. I ordered the gnudi (gnocchi) with red sauce and beef short rib (server's recommendations). My spouse had the lab chops. We both loved our meals. The presentation and flavors were all there. I think it's a nice place to go to on occasions because it's a bit more expensive than I expected, but the flavors and meals made it worth the cost. Staff was great, space was clean and airy, food was great.

The waiter was fine, just not overly helpful when asking about dishes and drink options. We ordered calamari as an app, which was a joke because it came with 5 pieces of calamari and the rest of the dish was filled with nonsense fried lemons and olives. We asked for bread, never got it. I ordered the seared ahi tuna and it was terrible, just a pile of sloppy rice with large chunks of egg and the tuna thrown on top. The waiter only came back once because someone else brought the food out, so where we likely would have ordered more drinks we did not. In all fairness my partner said the pork shank was incredible. Probably won't go back because at that price point we would expect better service and quality. The ambiance is beautiful and the restaurant is dark and lovely. It's a shame the quality and experience isn't the same as it once was.
