When we were seated, Jessica arrived with menus and greeted us and asked if we were celebrating anything special? Without thinking, we told her it was our anniversary. I just don't like the the wait staff making a big deal out of special occasions. Anyway, we got our drink order in and she returned right away with those and promptly took our meal order. My wife had the Shrimp Your Way. She chose the Walts Favorite Shrimp and the Shrimp Linguini Alfredo. She loved both of them. I had the Lobster Lover Duo. I believe it was a Main Lobster Tail and a Rock Lobster Tail. They were both cooked perfectly. They were great! For sides, I always get the broccoli and baked potato. The broccoli has a light seasoning and I love to dip it into the drawn butter for the Lobster. I also love the baked potato with the coarse ground salt. When we finished our meal, we asked for the check. Jessica returned with the check and a very nice complimentary ice-cream sundae to celebrate our special day. That was very unexpected and a very thoughtful surprise. Thank you to Jessica for making our day a little more special. We really do appreciate it. We will definitely be back.

There's so much to love about Bootleggers…read more Their pizza is amazing. I'm (mostly) vegetarian and the server recommended their pizza, even though their kitchen was closed. They home-make pizza and freeze some to be available when pizza isn't happening. When the server said "frozen pizza," I wasn't super excited but it was the best cheese pizza! They let me know that you can always call ahead for them to make or keep a specific pizza to buy frozen for carryout or when the pizza kitchen is closed. Occasionally I'll be naughty and get a burger there cause they're just so good. They (almost always) season their burgers really well so it's super flavorful. Their appetizers are fun and unexpected as well. The staff is usually really chill. Donna, the owner, is the sweetest thing ever, and her husband is super sweet and fun but with some rough edges. I admit that the interior could really use a tune up but all their food and hospitality certainly make up for it.

The pizza was cooked around the crust but the center was not cooked. Mushrooms are from a can and toppings were only in the middle. We gave it a try, but I won't be going back. I did get the wild berry salad and fried mushrooms, both of those were better than the pizza.

So craving their boasted chicken we go and was told at ordering no broasted chicken today Tuesday. The waiter said reason sold out THEY THINK because they sold out Monday. First the waiter did not know why (ok poor communication with the staff as to lack of availability) which to me is unacceptable for a restaurant that is a very enjoyable place to dine. If no chicken then the restaurant should place a sign on the door or let the staff know so we as a patron knows in advance. We were highly disappointed today in that respect. So let's talk goodness. We ordered potato skins they were large and filled with yumminess. I loved them so good. Then a fantastic bake French onion soup cup size. Great taste and cheesy but I really liked the breaded onion strips on top that made that soup over the top. My main dish was a grilled Rubin. Darn good with hot French fries. Like I mention a 4to5 star for food service 5 star but not pre warning costumer of a canceled dish after heavy advertising I have rated a 3. Can't wait to go back and enjoy that boasted chicken just hope it's served when on the menu. The restaurant very clean and I like the quickness of the support staff. The manager helps and goes to tables making sure everything is up to par. Maybe I am too harsh on this review but that shows how disappointed I am I was really looking forward to that delicious broasted chicken. A note to Village Squire I am happy you sold out if that was true great for business BUT the 86 communication maybe can be improved a bit more.

This has a nice restaurant vibe - nice tables, tablecloths, art on the walls, good lighting, nice, quiet carpeted spaces. There is a lot to like. We made a reservation, were greeted at the door and then promptly seated. Water came out quickly, along with the menus and the wine list. The wine list was a bit light in that all the bottles were typically lower cost. With such a wide variety of food on the menu, it deserves a bit more depth and some better wines to be included. Not that the wines that were included were bad - they were not. They are just at the very low entry end of the market. Picking up a few from Justin, Stag's Leap, and others in the $80 range would help enhance the restaurant's list. We both ordered entrees, which came with the either soup or salad - we both elected to get salads, where I selected a Caesar and my wife had a standard salad. The Caesar had plenty of parmesan cheese and croutons. The dressing was a bit thin - traditional Caesar dressings are cream based, this one seemed to be light on the garlic and anchovies. No anchovies were available, so it's kind of a light "Caesar." The regular salad my wife had was good - she enjoyed it. For the main course, I ordered their Filet Mignon, medium rare with a baked potato. The server asked if I wanted butter and sour cream, which I did and which was provided. The filet is provided in a cabernet reduction. This may have been a bit much, it was hard to taste the filet with the reduction. The filet came with broccoli which was steamed and was nicely done. The baked potato was cooked through (as expected, and worked well with the butter and sour cream. My wife enjoyed her Shrimp and Grits - the shrimp was cooked quite nicely and seasoned well. We were concerned about the meal size, so we skipped an appetizer, and it was a good thing since she took half of her shrimp and grits home. We were not rushed out of our table, and had a good time.
