I popped in here for the first time a few weeks ago. The latte was good - but barely warm. There seems to be an epidemic of lukewarm coffee - because this has happened to me four times at various places in the last month. I am going to have to start requesting a particular temperature so I can get a hot latte. But the highlight was the pastry. The Valentine was AMAZING. One of the best pastries I have ever had. One of the younger members of our family group requested a gift card as a birthday gift. So, I stopped by to purchase the gift card and had a chance to see the business on the inside. It's nice. Walked over to this place on a Thursday morning at 8:30am and was surprised to see a line out the door! This did not deter me though....I actually thought, wow this place must be good Luckily I wasn't in a hurry so I waited in line and it went by pretty fast. I had an iced americano and an empanada. Always love the quality of drinks at Walnut. Delicious, warm, and fast! Unfortunately, the line is almost always long - sometimes out the door. And the place is always pretty busy it can be hard to find a table. Such an Edmonds gem of a coffee shop. I do wish they had actually gluten-free pastries. Unfortunately while they claim "gluten free" on the labels, they are NOT gluten free or Celiac-safe. All the pastries are piled up together, none of the "gluten free" pastries are kept separate. But I'm pretty sure they're not made in a dedicated kitchen space either. One day, hopefully they'll figure that out. I stumbled upon this place during my visit to the Edmonds waterfront in search for an iced coffee. First off, the look and atmosphere of the place is great. There's a lot of seating and the other customers seems really comfortable here. The decor is very cute and they lift gr garage door to get a nice breeze going during the hot summer days. The barista working was really friendly and greeted me as I walked in and waived good bye as I left. They seemed to know everyone by name so it seems like a great local coffee shop. My family has long considered Walnut Street Coffee to be 5-stars. We have come numerous times and especially love the gluten free treats. We went again yesterday with our kids to celebrate our anniversary, and we now strongly consider this to be a 100-star establishment. My wife and I came to Walnut for hot cocoa and pastries together with our 5 year old and 2 year old. Right as we left our car we had what I will call an "almost medical emergency." Thankfully no one was hurt at all, but it left us feeling pretty shook up. Like, my wife was sobbing and our adrenaline was through the roof type of shook up. Without missing a beat both baristas came out with hot cocoa, and lattes, and pastries for our whole family. They checked in with us multiple times to make sure we were all okay, and they insisted on giving everything to us on the house. I'm purposefully being vague on the almost emergency because it ended up being unimportant. What was incredibly important was the kindness and care we were shown by the baristas and I am so grateful for it. I regret not getting their names, but am so thankful for how they took care of us. Cute neighborhood cafe on Walnut st. that I've somehow never been to even though I've lived in Edmonds most of my life Super nice baristas, alt milk options, and a surprising amount of seating for a shop so small. The only note I'll make is the coffee isn't very strong. I had a latte with soy milk and couldn't really taste the espresso. ~$4 My sister got a kids cocoa and both drinks were a little too light and milky. ~$2 But I will say, both were so affordable I didn't really mind. read more

Love this cafe! It has such a neighborhood feel with friendly baristas and great coffee and food. I love that there are gluten free options and that they have a variety of milk alternatives including oat and hemp milk, which are hard to come by. So they've become one of my go to places in Edmonds purely because of this. They have quite a good amount of seating available, with tables or bar stools, so suitable for anyone. You can always find mom's with their children, friends meeting for a drink and students or people working on their laptops. The only down side is that it can be hard to find a seat sometimes. read more

I recently started working remotely a lot, and discovered Walnut Coffee when my boyfriend picked up a new client in the area. I LOVE THIS COFFEE SHOP! The people are friendly, they have wifi, they make delicious mochas, they have some gluten-free goodies if you want them, and they have vegetarian sausage for their delicious breakfast sandwich! I try to limit my meat consumption but like the texture of sausage for breakfast sandwiches and Eggs Benedict, so it means a lot to me when places hace a veggie patty. Also helps that it's delicious and filling. Way better breakfast than a cookie or a sweet croissant! It gets crazy busy here sometimes so it's not ALWAYS the best spot to work, but I've had a few very good experiences. read more

Outdoor spots are right across the parking and some people idle their car so inhaling the cat smoke along with coffee not a pleasant experience. Dish is professional and friendly. I went to Walnut Street Coffee for the first time this morning. Murphy's Law that I happen to drive to downtown Edmonds while 5th Avenue S was being paved. However, I was rewarded with 3 hour street parking and a short walk to WSC. Wow - despite the early hour and not with a lot of immediate pedestrian traffic, this place was packed during a near 90 minute timeframe. I loved how it was a lively nice mix of lingering professionals with laptops, parents with toddlers, folks meeting up to read or carry a conversation. Very pleasant staff and one heck of a barista - that was a fine mocha made with Vivace coffee! I noticed that the pastry case was chockfull of Macrina pastries, as well as, other posted menu offerings. Usually I've gone to Waterfront Coffee because I usually hop the Edmonds/Kingston ferry, but it's great to also become acquainted with Walnut Street Coffee. What a great find! read more

This is my favorite coffee shop in Edmonds. I LOVE this place and stop by for a great tasting warm or iced soy latte whenever I'm in town. They use Vivace roast which I'm a huge fan of and is number one on my list followed by Ladro's, Vita, and Stumptown. Their lattes are perfectly balanced--creamy, smooth, nutty flavor. It's easy to drink and goes down smoothly leaving your tastebuds and senses at a blissful state. It's simply heaven! They have ellenos yogurt, pastries and breakfast items to pair with your coffee. They also offer other caffeinated and decaffeinated drink options including: chai, tea, hot chocolate, kid's cocoa, apple cider , Italian sodas, strawberry lemonade--all at a cheaper price compared to Seattle coffee shops. Their syrups, shots, and milk alternatives add-ons are cheaper as well. This is the best price you can get anywhere for a PREMIUM tasting coffee! They put two shots of espresso on a short/tall/grande. Their largest coffee size is 16oz (Grande). This is on point because you lose the perfectly balanced taste quality and strength of the espresso shots if it were any higher. Most coffee shops stops at 16oz but Starbucks is probably one of few that offers 20oz and 30oz and it just doesn't taste good above 16oz or maybe because the roast (burnt roast--done intentionally) that Starbucks uses is not very good to begin with. Go to Starbucks if you want a watered down coffee or foo-foo drink! I really enjoy what they did to this place. It looks like they converted a small car shop/garage, added bright eye-catching colors, simple and unique furnishings and made it a relaxing and comfortable place to hang out. On warm summer days, they'll open the garage door and let the air/breeze circulate. The inside is clean, organized, and have interesting decors, pictures, and items to look at. They surprisingly have two restrooms both unisex and both have a diaper changing station, and modern & stylish sinks. Lastly, I was in awe how clean it was. I give this place a 5 star rating for just that alone, lol. I always have a great experience getting my coffee here and leaves a smile on my face! Go check it out for yourself! read more

Amazing, spacious and well ventilated (very open architecture) cafe a few blocks away from Edmonds pier. The baristas were super friendly and patient with my questions about their merchandise, and both their americano & chai tea latte were great. My favorite part about this cafe is that there is no egregious up charge for milk alternatives. I'm so tired of paying $1 for a half cup of almond milk (uh, I know a full carton is $2.99 at a grocery store..) Will be back again! read more

I went to Walnut Street Coffee for the first time today and I was not disappointed! I expected a line out the door from what I've been told, so I was totally fine waiting. I'm glad to report that I only waited for 5 minutes. The service was friendly and speedy! I ordered a caramel latte with oat milk and a ham & cheese croissant...both were DELICIOUS!! The atmosphere was nice and open for a small shop, but we got a table quick. I will definitely be back the next time in the neighborhood. This place is a charming standalone coffee shop in a charming downtown location a bit away from the noise of the actual center of town. It has a nice neighborhood feel with indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is relatively easy on the street and it has its own small lot. This is a great little hidden gem kind of the end of the Street. This establishment sells various types of coffees, teas, hot cocoa, ciders, Italian soda and lemonade. They also sell cookies pastries and doughnuts.I seen the gingerbread molasses cookie and had to go for it I was not disappointed. This cookie was soft chewy just like it came out of the oven and surprisingly because it was in the display case. I decided to go with the small coffee because it was the middle of the day and I didn't want to turn into Chatty Patty. As I said it was all good coffee was great cookie was great nice little stop for a quick pick me up. Super cute coffee spot in Edmonds! Definitely check it out if you find yourself up north! My dirty chai was delicious and omg the breakfast sandwich was amazing! I expected it to be one of those pre-made frozen ones you get at Starbucks but this sandwich was so delicious! English muffin with veggie sausage, cheese, egg, spinach and pesto. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The prices are great (especially coming from DT Seattle) and there's plenty of seating inside the coffee shop if you want to hangout with some friends. Cute little coffee shop in Downtown Edmonds! We came here based on other yelp reviews to hang out and relax. The coffee was very nicely made, but I was a bit disappointed with the pastries. None of the pastries looked particularly appealing even though we went around noon. However, the coffee was very good and the baristas were obviously skilled. The furniture is mostly contemporary but the cafe is filled with people of all ages. Overall, a good experience but I wish they offered a greater variety of coffee and had more pastries. read more
