I always come here with my mom for morning coffee and it's always good. Service is quick and efficient even during rushes and coffee comes out in less then 5 minutes everytime. The best part is they have a wall of Polaroids with pictures of dogs which is cute.

Sunday pop in for a light bite and lattes. My dirty Chai tea latte was a blend of both spicy and sweet Chai mix and was perfection for this crispy autumn afternoon. The warm spinach goat cheese brioche hit the spot, perfect amount of savory. We also got an egg, sausage and cheddar hot sandwich on fluffy brioche, exactly the small bite we were looking for! The baristas were super helpful and sweet when helping us decide what to order, and both indoor and outdoor seating areas were clean. Will definitely be back!

Sweet Spot To Grab That Coffee Before Hitting The Edmonds Ferry SITREP My buddy Jenner and I were on our to hit the ferry, but we were looking for some caffeinated refreshment and saw this spot just kitty-corner to the ferry-building. Definitely worthwhile to investigate, right? THE SETUP Waterfront Coffee Company ("Waterfront") is a charming independent coffee shop that provides a wide array of caffeinated beverages and some sweet and savory treats. Reasonably priced, the coffee is hearty and does the trick of giving me that caffeinated kick. And the pastry treats are definitely worth going for: the scone was totally yummy! THE LOWDOWN Stop for your coffee and treats here before you get on the ferry. There is not much offered on the ferry itself, so make sure you stock up here first.

Sancho and Quijote are two local brothers who visit the Warerfront cafe for their pup cups. So spoiled, so loved.

The waterfront cafe is my favorite place to grab coffee and a pastry in Edmonds. I go on walks with my dogs and make sure to stop by and even my dogs know that it is a place to stop at. Thank you Waterfront cafe for so many good memories.

Okay. Coffee is about community. This place has two legged and four legged communities. Depend on your direction in the ferry line, this is the first or the last chance coffee meters from the loading dock to or from Edmonds. This narrow coffee shop also serves light breakfasts and modest lunches. The coffee is fine. I had a Mocha. The price is typical. The service was good. The barista was kinda. There isn't a lot of seating inside. But it seems as though this is a walk in order and take and talk joint. Yet, the patrons inside seemed like locals, as they relaxed in front of a wall of puppy Polaroid snap shots-- hence the four-legged community. You can't go wrong here. There are probably 12 coffee shops in the bowl not named Starbucks. Try anyone of them for the true flavor of Edmonds. You can't go wrong here.

Coffee and ice cream detour prior to boarding the Ferry. Stopped here as it was a bit hot and a nice cold drink sounded pleasant. Moderately busy. Small space but the ambience was great and inviting. Staff was knowledgeable and efficient. WiFi offered for those seeking a longer stay while sipping on coffee. Minutes away from park and beach. Beautiful views!

Good pastries, nice staff, and free roll for kids!…read more Our experience was great. They gave coupons the first two times we went. One for a free pastry next visit and after we used that they gave a coupon for a free bread loaf the next visit. The pastries are really high quality and creative, like the cottage coins(?) and the rye chocolate chip cookie.

I've visited The Cottage a couple more times, along with visiting plenty of other Seattle-area…read morebakeries, and I unfortunately no longer think they are top tier. I'm not sure if it's because something changed on the side of the bakery (maybe recipe or personnel changes?) or on my side, having tried more bakeries around the area. On our last visit we bought two loaves of bread to accompany a butter tasting. Both loaves I found to be not nearly as high quality as I remember previously. Pane Bello ($9) - The crust basically doesn't exist in this bread. It's soft and leathery and doesn't give that satisfying crispness of a well baked bread. The interior, while having good crumb structure, is particularly dry and almost crumbly. The taste is mild, perfect for pairing with higher end butters. (3/5) Parmesan Black Pepper Sourdough ($9) - This batard has similar texture as compared to the Pane Bello. It has the addition of plenty of black pepper baked inside, spaced out rather evenly, allowing a peppery bite every time. There's salty and fatty parmesan baked on top, giving a caramelized salty umami. It definitely has more flavor than the Pane Bello, but suffers from the same textural issues. (3/5) We purchased both loaves at 10AM on a Sunday morning and they were consumed within 2.5 hours, so I don't think it's an issue with storage. I ate a bit of their regular foccacia at a work event too. It has a good crispy exterior and is salted well on the top. Unfortunately the interior isn't the best, having a really dense, chewy crumb. I'm honestly not sure what happened. I really loved The Cottage when I first moved here 1.5 years ago. Now? I have a number of bakeries I'd choose over here in a heartbeat.

My friend and I visited on a quiet Sunday afternoon - a perfect setting for long chats. They also had a clothing pop-up in a cozy corner. We shared the black sesame einspanner, mango bingsu, and strawberry croffle. On the croffle, the sauce was sweet and the strawberries were perfect. Everything was delicious, extremely high quality and so esthetic. I loved the little details, like the spoon shaped like a little spade and a pink straw with a heart cross section. Nested in the deep recesses of Edmonds you will encounter a creature disguised as a place of business, an ontological marvel and evidence that humanity, though awash in the dooming glow of their iPhones, still understands the wonder and mystery of caffeine. This is Walnut Street Coffee. The experience is at once astonishing and overwhelming. One is flummoxed by the coffee, complex, dark, and necessary, like a small mercy poured into a paper cup. Behind glass, a wide selection of bakery items gawks at its onlookers, each one promising warmth against the indifferent machinery of the day in their little hands. It is a popular place of respite, and therefore it suffers the punishment of being loved. On weekends, the line can become long, a procession of the hopeful and under-caffeinated picking at greeting cards, dreaming of holidays that never were. There are few places to sit. But this is not a tragedy. The people do not linger. They arrive, receive their steam-choked sacrament, and disappear back into the wet, ethereal theater of Edmonds. The staff are pleasant and striking, shifting through the chaos with the calm of remembered goddesses who have accepted the morning and all its burdens. A fine café. The ambiance invites the living and repels the banal. This place of coffee, pastry, waiting, and brief human consolation stands against the headwinds of time and the horror of bitter lunches to come.
