Went to pick up an overpriced Subaru Forester that my spouse looked at. Glad I showed up. Gash in the tire, low coolant. And other concerning things that I am shocked they would let someone drive off the lot. They wouldn't budge on price or even offering to put 4 matching tires on it. I'm sure they will give us used cheapos that are shaved and pieced together to just get it out the door. What a joke It was a major inconvenience for us and now we are immediately regretting this purchase. They are working on it in the shop and hoping we can find a way to back out of this deal. Recently purchased a Subaru that was maintained and serviced here for its full life. It was brought in for a radiator flush and oil change. Tech said they would not do the radiator flush, due to oil in radiator. I purchased it from her and brought to JM Automotive who did a look over. There was no oil in radiator. So she was almost tricked into a 5k repair. She has made multiple requests for service records. No luck. I called and was told to carfax it. When asked why the hold up for their client to receive records, they cited understaffed. So let this be a warning. If you are told you may need a new engine, you may want to get a second opinion. my daughter went in for an airbag recall and said it would be done by the end of the day on a Thursday and 4 days went by, and their excuse was car won't start and said they found a harness unplugged and fixed it. Come to find out they removed her aftermarket security and remote start without her permission...car ran fine when it was on the car now her factory key fob don't work and half her dash lights are on I've called them and they wanted 219 dollars to program a key that worked before they got the car.....before you bring your car in for any service make sure they don't remove other non-related items because they won't fix them or acknowledge the act of depriving someone of their property they did not have a reason to remove it and if so didn't tell my daughter or ask her so now she has a car with bunch of codes and dash lights and a key fob that don't work read more

i purchased my car here for $14000.00 and for 2 years I have had nonstop problems with this car. Starting with the Dealership sold this car knowing it has a defective engine , excessive oil consumption which has caused multiple major issues. 2.4 eco boost engines have been flagged as defective and they sold me this car anyway. There is gas in my oil, solenoids going out , It makes a horrible noise , Runs extremely hot , needs oil every few days It has even ran out of oil 2 weeks after a oil change! I recently discovered a lawsuit was filed against GM for this very situation and GM was found to have known this engine was defective and instructed the service dept. to disconnect the LOW OIL light deceiving the owner . My oil is so contaminated with gas that its clear, CLEAR oil color? I bought this car for 14 k, My saving , I thought I could trust a well known dealership so its hard to take they sold me a car knowing full well it was defective. because of this I have lost my job , and have a beautiful car with a junk engine ! GM has been sued for this issue and still refuses to stand behind their product and correct it . I had read that this engine and my car was on a DO NOT SELL list, And paid $14,000 cash and they knew it was defective and past the warranty . 0/10. Sold me a vehicle three years ago, I've had over 15k in repairs done. Luckily, my warranties covered most of these fixes. I've had to shell out $2-3,000 this year already (last 12 months) due to random things breaking with no warning. (Battery, both strut shock assembly's twice, driver master window switch, passenger window switch, rotors, transmission seals.. And much more) This vehicle had a faulty transmission and was "repaired" I recently had to service this new transmission due to it leaking fluid. I believe the transmission I was given was also faulty because I still have fluctuating levels of power and my vehicle still shakes and makes weird noises once accelerating. Do not buy a car here, and most definitely go to a private auto mechanic that actually knows what they're working on. These fools actually shared with me that their staff had never swapped a transmission out of my specific model year car before which leads me to believe they were not proficient enough to ensure it was done correctly. The main question I want to pose is the following: What value does Walser Subaru add to the experience of a customer purchasing a new vehicle? The short answer - none. Abie, the salesperson sent me videos with tours of the car which were very nice. This is what made me lean toward Walser in the first place. I land in MN and she asks when I'm arriving to Walser from the airport so the car can be cleaned up, filled with gas, and ready for me. The car isn't cleaned up yet? Walser is a large dealership. Maybe they missed it? I arrive and Abie greets me and I ask to take the car out for a spin. We go for a drive. Again, it hasn't been cleaned yet, but no problem. Next, paperwork. Next, I ask for all the Walser branding to be removed from the car. Two license plate holders and a Walser decal sticker on the back of the car. Abie goes to work on this. She returns and tells me the detail guys don't have the tools to remove said decal as they aren't professional detailers, however, I can take the car to a pro and pay them to do it, OR they can remove the Walser decal from the rear of the car, but it may chip the paint on the car. The odd thing about this is Abie didn't think both choices were completely irrational to place on the customer. Enter Seamus. He introduces himself and proceeds to tell me he'll assist in removing the sticker and it's no problem. He was the best part of my experience that day. He cared. The little things. I read and wait. Abie says the car is ready. We go to the car and upon initial inspection it looks good. She says congrats and leaves. I notice the fuel tank is half empty. Weird. I text Abie about this as I thought when she said the car would be cleaned and gassed up it would be a full tank of fuel. Wrong. Abie comes out and says, "Oh no, we don't do that with used cars." I go the gas station next door and fill up the car. $20. Walser failed on going the extra mile here yet again. It's the little things. The next day I'm checking out the car upon closer inspection see there's dog hair and dog prints all over the back of the car. It's a service vehicle I got, I get it. But really? I message Abie and say "the detail guys did a terrible job and to please have a manager get in touch about this." The following is what earned them a one-star due to their sales manager Cade and salesperson Abie. Fail #1 - Abie doesn't even respond back when I message her about the problem. Which is very odd as it's her job to double check the detailing job to ensure a good customer experience. Nothing. Not a "super sorry about that let me get on it asap." I'm still your customer Abie. Fail #2 - Cade's text to me, which is copied and pasted below: Hi, my name is Cade and I am one of the Sales Mangers here at Burnsville Subaru. I just saw your message to Abie and wanted to reach out. Apologies that the detail on this vehicle was not up to your standards. We do our best to prepare these vehicles to hit the road after they are purchased. I will talk with our detail team so that they are aware and can watch out for things like this moving forward. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and congratulations on your new Subaru. I thought about responding, but even if I did respond, it wouldn't matter, he'd obviously brush it off as he had my money and that's all he cares about. First: A text and no call? Unprofessional. Second: Sorry it's not up to my standards Cade? A dirty, half-assed detail job wouldn't be up to anyone's standards. Nice wording to dismiss my concern and place the issue BACK on the customer. Third: No attempt at fixing the issue. No, "Hey, not a problem. Let's get that detailed for you." All in all, Walser has many reviews, a lot of them 5 stars, which leads me to believe maybe they had an off day. I don't recommend anyone to ever go here for a vehicle. This experience added no value at all and makes me wonder why the car buying experience still exists and hasn't gone out like the dinosaurs. I wrote a bad review of Walser Subaru only yesterday, but today I have to reverse that. Initially, their online and phone systems were apparently new/not functioning well yet, and they never got back to me about questions I had regarding my then-upcoming service appointment. When I got there, I was told I would be contacted within 2-3 hours with the results of diagnostic tests and estimates for any repairs, but I received no call. After 4 hours I went back to the dealership and inquired, but it took over an hour for them to get back to me with an estimate - 5 hours after I left it. It turns out they were delayed, at least in part, because they were trying to find out from my extended warranty company whether the repairs would be covered; indeed, all but one problem would be covered by warranty, and they gave me a loaner vehicle (I live over 30 miles away). The next day they got back to me with a lower estimate/alternative repair on the one problem not covered by the warranty (that would involve some extra work on their part), and comped me on my oil change and other small things by way of apology for the delays on the previous day. While I was very frustrated with the delays and non-communication yesterday, I feel they took responsibility and did their utmost to make it up to me. So I can now recommend their service department. read more

I took my 2013 Subaru Outback in because my mechanic diagnosed it with a failing transmission / differential and said that the entire transmission would need replacement and my mechanic recommended I go to Subaru and try to get help with the replacement because that are known to be defective and Walser had overfilled my transmission and not filled he differential when I had service done in 2017 and that caused damage to the transmission. Walser refused the other mechanics diagnostics and said they would charge $180.00 to diagnose problem. They instead did a total vehicle check and tried to sell me other overpriced services. They did a short drive and video of the noise coming from the CVT transmission. They did not open or look into the transmission at all and just pushed other services like an oil change and cabin filter change. They were unsympathetic to the mistakes they made and would not make it right . They said Subaru of America might help us with the over $10,000 transmission repair and Subaru of America dropped the ball and refused to help because the extended warranty period had passed. Beware, neither Walser or Subaru of America stand behind their work or products. I purchased a Jeep Compass from this dealership. They told me the vehicle went through their Vehicle Reconditioning center and would not be for sale unless it passed the 35 stage process before it is shown online or on the lot. Apparently their process didn't involve checking the sub frame of the Compass I purchased from them. I paid $8,500 for this used vehicle (almost 4 times the blue book price today - 10 months later). They listed the vehicle with 120,000 only to arrive to look at the vehicle and see it was actually 138,000. BIG difference, but no difference in the sales amount. I purchased new 60,000 mile tires for this vehicle in February at a tire place only to have the front two tires now down to 4/32" today, thanks to the GREAT shape of the vehicle I purchased from Walser Subaru. Reconditioning center should have caught both the sub frame that needs replacing and the HUGE alignment problem, as well as problem with STRUTS. But they found nothing and did nothing but push their "Vehicle passed inspection through our Recondition Center" speech. Now I'm stuck with repair costs at $6,300 for a vehicle that is barely worth $2,300. WOW. Was I taken for a ride! They mentioned their reconditioning center multiple times to put me at ease, and make me BELIEVE the used car I paid cash for is actually of some value. WRONG!! The Used Car Manager, Solange, was also rude when I questioned the mileage and the price. How DARE I question the selling price!! If you EVER buy any used vehicle from this dealership, and I STRONGLY caution you against it, IMMEDIATELY take that vehicle and pay to have the entire vehicle inspected at an independent mechanic!! I have purchased six vehicles from Walser Nissan, but will NEVER do business with Walser Subaru EVER AGAIN. They are ABSOLUTE CROOKS and should NOT AT ALL BE TRUSTED!!!! read more

My Daughter and I went to Walser Subaru to look at pre owned Ford Fusion they had listed. This would have been her first car. After talking to a Salesman Sam Bissen, We agreed to buy the car outright no financing. The dealership would take care of tax, title, and license; and common practice for most dealerships. 3 weeks later the county treasurer (DMV) sent us lettter saying they needed $62.01 to finishing licensing. I tried to buy on-line and set up a time to test drive, finish paperwork, pay for, and drive home in the same day. They absolutely refused to make the sale because I wanted them to hold the vehicle 4 days for me. I offered a down payment which was refused. I have never had a dealership refuse to sell me a car for cash because they "can't hold a used car." I have bought 8-10 cars over the course of 30 years as far away as 500 miles and never had a problem before. I do not understand a company that has no customer consideration as part of their policy. TL/DR; Abysmal dealership. Subaru corporate should be ashamed, and there's no way I'll ever go back to this shop for sales or service and would recommend avoiding them at all costs. This review is long overdue, but I have to write it. While shopping for an Outback, our first encounter with this dealer was less than spectacular. They advertised a low entry price, but then pushed rustproofing and clear film protectors for the front of the car. This is a typical shyster move and I should have known better right off. However, we did end up buying from them because we were coming to the end of the model year before a major change, they were the only shop in town with our preferred color and trim package, and they promised a $500 break on a vehicle they had listed as hail damage with no obvious dings. After checking out the car, I was delighted to find no scratches or dents of any kind. Then the torture began. Back to the sales floor, a different sales person that the we spoke we spoke to over the phone told us that so and so who promised the $500 deal didn't know what they were talking about. The sales manager came over, said he had overheard the call and said, "Oh no - that's not what he said at all. He said we might give up to $500. We can really only give $100 off this particular vehicle." This all after we drove 45 minutes one way to come out to see this vehicle? I was incensed. There were several rounds of nickle and dime bait and switch and hard sell / talk to my manager / make us stew to sit through. We finally got the deal they had promised, and walked away sort of satisfied (2-3 star) ... until I went back for the first scheduled maintenance. When setting that appointment, I also arranged to have some cargo nets and aftermarket mudflaps installed. All well and good, I planned waiting in the shop a few hours on a Saturday for the work to be done - remember, this is an hour and a half round trip from home. Get in on time, sit, wait, and wait some more. After three hours I see our car hasn't moved from where it was initially parked in the service lot. Speaking with the service team, I learned that the shop felt they didn't have all the parts they needed to do the job, and had put it on the back burner - WITHOUT TELLING ME AND WITHOUT DOING ANY WORK AT ALL. After shuttling back and forth between service team members for a half hour I finally was able to speak with the manager. He agreed to drop the extra work and just do the oil change, and at no charge in exchange for my time. However, that was in no way worth the four hours I wasted while the shop sat on their thumbs. Again, I'll ever go back to this shop for sales or service and would recommend avoiding them at all costs. read more

Customer experience and support was lacking. They sold me a vehicle stating that the price included a remote starter. Upon checking out and signing the deal, we were told the vehicle only comes with one key and that we would have to purchase a second key for $350 if we wanted it. We bought the key and brought the car back to sync. Their service people installed the second key and ruined the remote starter in the process. Now we paid for a second key that they didn't have and we lost the remote starter that was advertised as part of the high vehicle price. We asked for assistance on this and was told there was nothing they can do. We drove 45 minutes to and from about 5 times in total to deal with this vehicle and have not received satisfactory customer experience. Or sales person doesn't even care what you want and need they just want to up sell you and you ain't got no clue what is going on! Well any Walser dealership has never ever made me feel like that! I am a very mmmm how to say this I snap easily when I feel mistreated I let you know that you have too tone it way down with me. I get it from my mom not a proud trait but is just me very confrontational. This is one of few places I have not felt hot headed. They know there vehicles not just winging it. They take their time with you like hours if need be. The space is small but it makes up for it on their employees. Management hired the right people. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience on Thursday night. A sales rep reached out to me on Thursday afternoon via e-mail. I was unfortunately swamped by meetings in the afternoon, so responded by e-mail that we'd be in later that night to look--first glance. I didn't expect any preparations to be made, because I assumed the other salespeople in the dealership would be able to help. When we arrived, we indicated we were working with the rep that e-mailed--they tried to call, no answer and then they left us alone. We were hoping to look at the Ascents, and we were told that that's one on the floor. The staff came across as very standoffish--on their phones, completely ignoring us. Don't get me wrong--I'm not a fan of high pressure car sales; we purchased our last car from Walser Mazda and it was a great experience. However, the experience in your dealership left my wife feeling like she was being ignored and not being helped. As a result of this experience, we went up the road to Bloomington Subaru Acura. Luckily, they were able to provide the service we needed and we're picking up our new Ascent Touring today. read more

We went through and looked at a sold Outback that was in the delivery bay with no one paying attention. We were really interested in options for a vehicle and my daughter loved her Outback. We purchased a used Subaru Forester. The salesperson was very nice. We were told that it had gone through a complete inspection. When I got home I found a number of spots inside the doors where the paint was chipped off. I called and asked if they would consider mailing me some touch up paint and was told that I would have to pay for the paint and the mailing. 10 days after our purchase, the battery died and we had to buy a new one. I understand that the car is four years old, but I was under the impression that the inspection should have included a battery that would last longer than 9 days. This complaint is about the service department. I was in for an oil change and mentioned that it felt like my vehicle was pulling to the right slightly. It was checked out and said it needed springs/struts which would cost $2580. That was on October of 2019. Now February 2021 and has 3 checks since at different service places for the springs/struts and both times reported no known issues. This was obviously a wrong diagnosis and would have been an unnecessary expensive. I have not and will never go back to Walser in Burnsville. read more

One of our kids is a salesman at a dealership and he did not have the kind of car we were looking for at his new car dealership, so he said to check some automotive websites and he would call on it for us. Well, the guy at Walser was "a jerk" to the salesman at our kids dealership, so he will be going to the next one on the list. That's too bad....not the car part, but the fact that the guy trying to find us a car is being treated kinda rudely by Walser Subaru. Since we live close to this dealership and far from our son's, we thought it would be nice to get serviced by one of the Walser dealerships....but will stay away and look elsewhere. I've never been happier with the customer service in my life! Harry, Cory and Jeff all worked to ensure I had a car that I loved and I LOVE MY CAR!! All I want to do is drive around in it because it is the best car ever!! They were patient and gave me options. I never felt pressured to make a fast decision or buy the car at that second. As a woman this is extremely important to me. I wanted to to look and investigate the different options. Unprofessional sales team. When I came in to drive a car, there were 3 salesmen/women eating pizza at the front desk. One member was even playing trivia on their phone. After driving the car and returning to the desk, the salesman that had gotten the car out for me asked "so what's he next step?" while the others at the desk stared at me. Isn't this why they have individual desks? Finally, I purchased the car and asked for it to be cleaned as it had salt/water stains on the door, some unknown chunks on the dash as well as a sticky residue in the center console. I got the car home to find none of this had been cleaned. Not a great experience. read more
