Every time I go to the store, the staff are super helpful! They always have a good selection at a good price, and I love to support local businesses. I usually buy soil for my plants, but this last visit I needed some wood chips for my orchid, and when I asked if the bag that I saw came in a smaller size, they had a little bit left in a bag and they gave it to me!! I only needed like a handful for my single orchid and that just made my day! I then needed some soil for my indoor succulents and they were helpful helping me pick something out. I never leave reviews but there is a women who works there, middle age darker hair always up in a bun, white, talks to everyone, I over hear the convos she seems nice! but is very odd to me and my partner. We live a block away and walk over time to time, always the same energy from her. Not many Mexicans like us in PB so I can't help but to feel that plays a part? I hope not, Either way, never friendly, she was working the cashier tonight talked to the older couple in front of us, it was my turn next I smiled, she quickly walked away and another girl filled in and she just stood to the side and watched me. Felt like I was being judged. That mean girl energy. Very strange. My boyfriend surprised me with a plant a few weeks ago and told me the girl was rude to him too. We looked into Yelp's crystal ball and decided to check out Green Gardens Nursery. We found quite easily. It was a busy weekday all around. We parked across the street and crossed the road. Upon entering, we were greeted by a young gentleman watering plants. Several people restocking, moving plants, helping others. We were left unattended while we checked out all their beautiful plants. This is a smaller nursery, but it has a little of everything! You'll be able to find something here. The Bad Advice and Not Our Problem Nursery. Green Gardens, what should I plant on my -pretty-much-full-shade-entry-way? Was sold 3 chartreuse cypress (aka, Lemon Cypress). Lovely little things. 4 months later, 2 out of 3 are dead. The building gardener, the neighborhood green thumb and landscapeplants.oregonstate.edu all agree. These trees prefer full sun. Ahem, Green Gardens. Went back to see what could be done. Was told, (Thank you Luke! Thank you Chrissy!), shade wasn't the problem. No help offered, no replacements, no nothing. Usually, I write positive reviews. (There's enough negativity these days.) But in this case? It's the mistake after the mistake guys. Maybe work on that. read more

Green Gardens required that in order to have Paul (their landscape design consultant) come out to meet with me at my house and draw up landscaping plans would cost me $100 in a gift card that was not refundable. After many unreturned phone calls, and a missed appointments he finally came out to my home. We discussed the landscaping design and I was told he would email the proposal the same afternoon. That was a week ago and he hasn't returned my email or phone calls. I'm stuck with a $100 gift card for a company I no longer plan to do business with. read more

I came in asking for advice on what plant would be best for my indoor plant holders and Kelsey helped me out immediately and gave me some great suggestions. My brother got me a gift card here for my birthday and I had a splendid time walking around the nursery. The plants are beautiful and it smells amazing. It was hard to pick out what I wanted because the nursery is stocked with just about everything. The employees were super helpful and explained how to care for the plants I bought. They also have quite a large selection of pots that are beautiful and reasonably priced. I can't believe I've never been here! I've been to literally every nursery in SD but just discovered this gem! First of all it's super cute and for being on the smaller side, they have a fantastic selection of both indoor and outdoor plants. They also have a fantastic home decor section on one side. Really quality, unique items. The plants are also really well priced! Some places charge insane amounts for more "rare" or highly desired indoor plants but I found 3 rare indoor plants for 9.99-13.99 which would be at least $24.99 anywhere else! Score. I'll be back way more now that I know where it is. read more

The staff was very helpful not only in recommending plants but also how to care and propagate them. The prices are reasonable. Somewhere between Armstrong, Walter Anderson and Home Depot.
