We found this place because they participate in the Pub Pass. My husband and I really enjoyed it! We got the nachos and Greek flatbread. I don't eat meat and there weren't a ton of options but it was enough to make me happy. We each had an IPA (I had the seasonal cranberry) and a flight, and we brought a 4 pack of Hazing Arizona home (YUM.) The live music was great. The food was solid, beer was delicious, and the staff were super friendly. I highly recommend and we'll definitely go again. read more

Happened upon this nice "Hole - in - the -wall" bar en route to another location. Manager and staff were friendly, and super pro-active in helping me suss out where I was actually supposed to be.! Had I had the time, I would have stopped for a bite to eat on the cute little misted patio, because environment was so welcoming. Decided to do a little mini brewery tour around town this past weekend and had previously heard great things about this brewery! We were not disappointed! While it is a little off the beaten path (and my GPS led me astray), it was worth it. If you do happen to pass it, turn down the very next street and there is an alley you can cut through. Parking in the lot is somewhat limited but there was some street parking on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere is inviting and the staff is friendly. There is a ton of seating and they do offer some food options. We didn't order any food on this visit but did have one of their IPAs and a flight of 5. You could choose any of the beer options as part of the flight. I did a sample of a variety from light to dark including their Oktoberfest which was my favorite on the board. If you're in the area, definitely check it out! read more

Today was my first time going to eat here. And i have to say that it was a nice and unique place to have a good salad, a delicious pizza and good craft beer. This place used to be a fire station once a upon a time. They have fire fighter gear in the dining area and and volks wagon bus as a fire truck. They have plenty of seating. I loved that they keep one of the big doors open so if my son yelled, no one would get bothered. I will be back again soon. read more

Nicely brewed in-house beer. The 10% ABV is a must try beer, it was smooth and very refreshing. Their pizza is also on point. The pineapple bacon was so savory and tasty. Perfect thin crisp for it. Cool hidden bar with a cool VW bus in the middle of the bar. Your allowed to sit in it and hang out there which is super amazing. The beer was very good this is a very cool place to hang out a drink a beer with your friends. First of all I've got to say walking into this old firehouse made me feel right at home..My Father was a firefighter for 25+ years and I grew up in and around fire houses..It makes a great space for a brewery!..We stopped in for a quick flight before dinner..So unfortunately we didn't get to try any of their food..The menu had flatbread pizzas, cold sandwiches, salads and some apps..All which really looked good and smelled delicious..The staff was very helpful and super friendly..The beer was very unique and they had a lot of different styles..Being less than a year old I think this brewery can only get better!..I'm looking forward to seeing what the future brings..We'll definitely be back for another flight and this time some food!! read more

I was delayed a few hours at the airport so I took the sky train to 44th street and walked to this brewery. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The vibe was cool, the had corn hole and board games. The service was prompt and friendly and the beers were great. At this point you are probably wondering why I gave this 3 stars instead of 5. I made the mistake of ordering the pretzel ($10) and it was honestly, without exaggeration, the worst pretzel I have ever had. It wasn't actually a pretzel, but some dough that had been baked in a pretzel shape. It was served cold and flimsy without any of the structural integrity I expect from a pretzel. I had hopes that maybe the beer cheese could save this dish. Disappointed again! It was awful, cheese is hard to mess up, but somehow they managed. When checking out I politely pointed out our dissatisfaction at our uneaten pretzel(1 bite each for me and my wife,) the server said it gets mixed reviews and charges us for it anyway. We arrived at 9am the time they open, ready to watch the Women's World Cup today as soon as we walked in the place was already packed! No place to sit and watch the game. Obviously, Walter Station let patrons in early, there is no way the brewery would have been packed if the doors opened at 9am, their would have been a line at the door prior to them opening. We also called to make a reservation the day before as requested on their Facebook page and the person who answered the phone said their not taking reservations. Stopped in for a pint and was greeted by Ethan. Large facility. They have a decent selection of beers and nice menu. I dabble in IPAs but a German beer lover at heart. Had their Pilsner which was very tasty. Was gonna do Nachos, but Ethan recommended the loaded kettle-chips, we got the BBQ version. They make chips in house and loaded em. The chicken was plentiful and very flavorful. So good, made me want to slap my mama! Ethan was also kind enough to give me tour of vats and cooler. They are creating some nice beverages! They have an old Swiss firetruck in the building. Overall great experience. Will venture back to the fire station this summer to put out my internal fire with their masterful brews! read more

Reading a lot of reviews about Walter Station it appears that a lot are from people passing by on their way to the airport. As someone who used to frequent Walter station and has experienced the AZ craft beer scene for 10+ years, I can honestly say this is the second worst brewery in the state (8bit brewing is 1st). Let's start with the "food" no matter what you order the food is obviously from a bulk buy like sams club and simply heated up, the main tool in the kitchen is a toaster over so no matter what you order, expect it to be burned. Depending on who is working that night you could have less toppings on one item aka the nachos vs another night. There is one consistency,lack of flavor. Now for the beer, the beer is top tier awful. You will drink 1 and think hmmm okay this is a beer. Nothing notable, nothing good. Upon my final visit one of the silos started to overflow and left the staff in a panic. Obvious amateur hour for all the brewers. The bartender who is typically there is just rude, he wears a hat usually and have heard him tell people to not order certain items because they are bad. At least he is honest. The venue has great team trivia because it's a 3rd party company and the host is a gem! The venue used to be very dog friendly, now they will not allow dogs inside so you're left to fight over the heaters on the patio but good luck finding a staff member who knows how they work. The parking is a nightmare and there's an old vw bus that takes up one of the spots because "the owners daughter used the brewery for photos" so that's great you have a shot at 3 spots and 1 handicap. You can throw a stone and hit another az brewery. Don't waste your time or money going to this location. read more

New brewery (opened just 3 weeks ago) and they are off to a great start. There are 11 beers to choose from ranging from sour to malty to hoppy, and 4.2% to 9.5% abv. I did a flight and enjoyed them all, and the Winter's Coming was my favorite. Obviously beer preference is your personal taste, so I encourage you to come in and find your favorite. Building is an old firehouse from the 1950s...very cool. And the food truck associated with this place makes incredible pizzas. I went with the "Hey Ryan" which is a fun version of a Hawaiian.
