The food is the best communal food I have ever had anywhere and is mostly grown on the farm. Susan Orem and Lisa King the chefs create high vibration, nutrient dense, delicious food, meal after meal and it's so beautifully and lovingly presented. The grounds are like a well kept Eden, just the right balance of wild and cultivated. The buildings are all beautiful and unique. I stayed in the yoga house with 8 other friends and we could FEEL all the stories of this older building. The happy chickens foraging the grounds are friendly and fun. They host bonfires in evening and there is a pond to swim in which is wonderful to cool off in since there is no air conditioning. I enjoyed the best retreat I have ever been to on these grounds and would return in a heartbeat or book it for my own endeavors. Be aware the time line for arrival, meals and check out is real and you will be held to that but that is also basic courtesy. Behave with basic adult courtesy and punctuality and you will vastly enjoy your stay here.

The staff seemed very accommodating to specific parental requests and most are informative of the daily occurrences. Unfortunately, there were a few happenings throughout the year my daughter attended that brings my rating down. Firstly, management failed to address a staff member that I informed them of being unprofessional. With that, the staff member would flirt and speak inappropriately to my husband, whom she had exchanged phone numbers with - all being behavior that I would say breaches a professionalism manner in all ways. This was brought up several times to management and the staff member remained employed there, even while other parents have had the same issue. Employee meetings were held to review what is and isn't appropriate and the behavior never ended. Secondly, there was an incident where my daughter hit her head. I received a phone call of what happened but the staff was so distraught and were not giving me clear details. They were unaware of the dilation/reaction of her pupils and I was given two different explanations of what actually happened. Once the report was written, there seemed to have been a third explanation on paper on what and how it happened. While my daughter was ok, I had made a precautionary ER visit within minutes of the occurrence as I was unsure of the details of what actually happened - this all made me very uneasy.

The ladies in her room were amazing, they all took the time time to get to know me and my daughter-they always asked how my day was and genuinely seemed to care. My daughter was always happy to go to "school" in the morning, and didn't want to leave at the end of the day. It was so nice to know that I would be leaving my child in the hands of people who really cared about the kids, who were dedicated to making sure they thrived, and who really enjoyed their jobs. The only reason we left Cullman was because we moved, otherwise we would absolutely still be there!

We would play 36 at swan lake Hour and a half full throttle. Great memories riding up. Fast forward shit ton of years. Three kids and four grandkids later , i wanted to come up and play. Swan lake closed. Hello Roscoe MTN. Ba. Boom! Perfect. Shot a slap it around horrible 97 with my bride of 40 years next to me. Tomorrow is a new day. Hit the bait shop in the Am and get on the lake. . Just what I wanted! 11.00 tee time. Wide open spaces , quiet af, wide open golf course. And really sweep peeps! Absolute home run for grandpa! The absolute cherry on the whole deal was. When I arrived to check in. Jim Diven was there ! My guy! What a wonderful surprise. Treat yourself to this place! Highly recommend if you don't have a club to play at.. Btw the way! This place is the Mack daddy of trout fishing. The hard kind with flies. Check it out!

I enjoyed speaking with Jim who told me that they are trying to promote the club by having some special events. They have a lake with a boat house and several outdoor activities. Of course the main draw is golf. He mentioned they had just hosted a concert to draw some attention for the locals to the club. The food was nicely presented. We were here on a Saturday, which was steak night. You must start with the pretzel, hot, soft and salty. Loved the cheese and mustard dips. Calamari with red sauce was equally good. My wife enjoyed the trout with rice & roasted broccoli, the Sullivan smash and chicken caprese were both hits. I had the steak special cooked perfectly medium rare. The steak came with roasted broccoli, mac & cheese which used pene pasta (very cheesy and filling). Bar prices are very reasonable. All the bottles of wine were also nicely priced. I am hoping to return maybe when the leaves are in fall colors or in winter to enjoy some outdoor activities. I think sitting by the fireplace and enjoying a warming drink would be divine.
