Today (August 17, 2024) I went out to get my family food to eat & I had a craving for Chinese food. I didn't want to wait to go to my neighborhood Chinese restaurant, so I took a chance on this restaurant. I walked in & loved the Ambiance, the woman at the register was very nice & catered to my needs. She told me the food would take 15 minutes, so I left came back & my food was ready. Great cheap chinese food, rice could be better though. Orange chicken is always crispy and smothered in sauce. My co-workers always order the Mongolian beef and say jts fantastic. They give you a ton of food for the lunch special price as well which is a plus. I would put this place over any Chinese restaurants in the Berwyn/Cicero area. If they can get the rice down it would be perfect! They are oddly closed on Tuesdays though. Keep that in mind. read more

I love their sweet and sour chicken. I love egg rolls, however, their egg rolls are extremely salty. Won't be buying them anymore. I'll make my own. Hubby stated there are too many onions in the Mongolian beef. read more

Hello everybody I order yesterday dinner from this restaurant and the broccoli and chicken was off full it was hot but it was hard and it did not have any flavor I spent 25.00 plus I gave the delivery person a few dollars but I will never order from this restaurant again the Chinese rice was okay but the chicken and broccoli was ulfull I give this place one star it needs improvement fast because when you order the Chinese lady on the phone is very nice but the chicken and broccoli it's no good and haves no taste. read more

Today was my first time ordering from Wanda's. I actually just walked the block and ordered inside and waited for a to-go order, which is no big deal. It was pretty clean and I didn't sense any sort of "smell" the first reviewer did. It seemed like most of the items on the lunch special section were $5.50, which as a nearly across-the-board price is a tad high, considering the portion wasn't as large as the two other places I frequent. Plus, the standard lunch rice option is shrimp fried rice, which is unusual, but as someone who doesn't eat shrimp at all, ever, charging an extra 50 cents to substitute a different type of rice is a little lame. But hey, I could try a free agave hard candy. I ended up getting the pepper steak. This was served as rice in one side and big green pepper chops & onions with steak pieces in the other. Also came with an egg roll. The entree was fine but the egg roll was rather soggy, so I didn't eat much of it. I orders today an orange chicken plate with fried shrimp. I ordered it from this place just because it is close to my apartment n I have a baby at home. The driver got lost at first but my food finally arrived and it was still warm. I also got a free soda with free eggrolls. Over taste wise, very good. I will order again from this place. read more

The first time i came in this restaurant i took it to go and found that the food is wayy too greasy. Other than that i had a good experience as far as customer service. Now my second time, I had my food delivered. As soon as i opened the door i already sensed that the delivery guy was in a bad mood or not happy because he did not greet me or said nothing until at the end. I looked at my receipt because i found it expensive to pay $20 for 2 small plates of orange chicken (meal plate) and a sm order of fried rice. I noticed they had charged me $5 extra for delivery. If I was told it was going to be this much i would have gone picked it up myself. So anyway i decided to pay the amount thinking that i will never call and get my food delivered. I gave the money to the man giving him no tip. Again, i must say that he was mad already or something because when he found out that he was not given a tip, he walked away calling me a bit** thinking that i did not hear. I did call the restaurant back and explained what happend. They called me back later and told me that he said "What a tip" Now you can not mix those two words up. I know what i heard was not what he had supposedly said. So i left it as that. Got over it and ruined my appetite for chinese food! I will never be ordering from this place again. Great food awesome orange chicken there sometimes delay on the food but worth it you can ask them to do it to your taste as I like my orange ck crunchy and the owners are very nice and over all a great place for good American Chinese food yes everyone will have their own favorite chines restaurant but over all wandas is a great place to eat and take out. read more

Don't order any delivery from this place. Tried it a few times and the order is always screwed up. When I call and voice my concern, they just tell me they can't do anything about it, their driver is too busy, and that we should just stick with what we got. It's very frustrating because their food is actually good but their (delivery) service is awful. I may just stop ordering from here. read more

I just got Wanda's delivery for the first time, and was quite pleased with my dinner. The egg rolls were good and unusual with a spot of cinnamon. The home made sauces that came with the egg rolls and pot stickers were unusual and rich, but not cloying in the least. I ordered the Ma Po tofu, and they weren't stingy with the tofu, which was a wonderful thing. One odd thing, it didn't have pork in it, as advertised. That might have been due to a possible miscommunication with the order taker, as I asked for extra tofu. She might have thought I was asking for vegetarian, I don't know. However, I didn't miss the pork a bit; the dish was fresh, delish, and a beautiful red color that just sang Chinese New Year. The food arrived hot; I'll definitely try them again. read more

I could be wrong, but I think this is the same place that was once located on the East side of Cermak Plaza. If it is, and I think it was based on the food, etc., then it was worth my trip. The other place WAS a lot bigger and had a buffet option at one time. Today we had sweet and sour chicken on white rice that came with a great sauce mixed with small pieces of green pepper, carrot slices, and pineapple--LOVED IT! My nephew had the BBQ pork appetizer, a really great portion, with white rice--he LOVED it too. We both had the egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce, and they were absolutely fabulous! Really tasty and definitely NOT soggy. If you want a better atmosphere with ambiance, go to a fancy-schmancy restaurant. Otherwise, just get it for take-out like we did. The place is clean, the prices were reasonable, and the portions were good, and that matters most to me. I've been to other Chinese restaurants in the area, but did not find their food to be as tasty as Wanda's. It was worth the trip. read more

I've ordered here the mongolian plate and shrimp fried rice and it was horrible ! I told them to give me extra soy sauce bags n they put it all in the mongolian ! I asked them if it has noodles n they said yes but once i got it everything was hard and overcook and it didn't even had noodles ! The shrimp fried rice didn't even have shrimp like what the hell ! Plus to top it off the delivery guys are always demanding for tips like the tip comes with the order why are you going to ask and not leave my front door till i give you 2 bucks ?! Good food though it used to be better, low prices, friendly, fast delivery. I always order from there. would definitely recommend it if you live in Cicero/Berwyn area and your looking for good Chinese food. At most Chinese restaurants I've tried the dishes on their menu all start to taste the same. Not so at Wanda's. Everything here has a unique flavor and each different from the next dish on the menu. No need to order extra anything because there is always a good ratio of meat to vegetables. The service is always friendly and prompt. My only negative comment is that the menu is a bit limited. I ordered delivery for dinner and was very unhappy when i received the wrong order. I called Wanda's back and the same woman who I had placed the order with answered the phone. I explained that I did not receive the correct food to which the woman signed deeply and said nothing. I repeated myself thinking she did not hear or understand what I had said since there was no response. Again, a deep sigh and long pause. She angrily asked for my address and then proceeded to tell me that was what I had ordered. For the third time I repeated what I had ordered and what I had received. Another angry sigh and began to argue with me. I know the difference between orange chicken (my order) and sweet and sour pork (what I received) but Wanda's obviously does not. For the fourth time now i repeated myself and asked that the correct order be sent to my house. I was told they were very busy and it would take an hour for the delivery driver to even return to the restaurant before they could send him back out with my correct order. While I was explaining that this was not the way to do business and if my correct order could not be delivered in a timely matter I would no longer do business with them, I was hung up on.
