Amazing experience. From the easy check in, the (most) comfortable bed to the amazing views and amenities it is in my opinion, better than advertised. "Glamping" is a great way to describe this place. The tents were very clean, the beds we're extremely comfortable, the staff was warm and welcoming, the grill/fire pits were readily available and easy to use. Not to mention it was very close to great places to eat, lakes to fish, hiking trails, and easy access to Yellowstone National Park. The only "complaint" I would say, would be the bathrooms. Although the staff did a great job at making sure they were cleaned multiple times a day... some other guests not being aware it was a shared bathroom and left them a mess. I was glad I read through the reviews and came overly prepared with an extra comforter, multiple towels, firewood and food. Highly highly recommend. read more

Addendum: Wander Camp management reached out to me to try to resolve my complaints. While the person with whom I spoke was very nice, it was ridiculous that they would not refund anything until I agreed to speak with them.They ultimately refunded the price of the heater rental for both nights (what I had requested) and gave me 10% off for future reservations made within the next year. Issue resolved: but I am still never going back. This was a horrible experience. We love glamping and we're very disappointed. The front of our tent was all wet from water, and we didn't notice until after staff had left that one of the beds was wet as well. We paid $22 a night for heaters. They gave us a small propane space heater, the size that's meant to be put under a desk, with tanks that lasted 3 1/2 to 4 hours. It was explained to me after the fact that I was given two tanks, one for each night. Are they out of their minds? When I called to complain, the person just kept trying to pacify me and ask what message I wanted to give to the manager. Nothing was resolved. I had to point the heater at my daughter because it was only gonna work for one of us and she needed to be warm. I also had to wake up at one in the morning to change the propane when it ran out. Also, all their bathroom stalls were at the front of the camp. There was no porta potty at anywhere else, which was ridiculous, especially in the rain. There was no lantern in my room, although they did give me portable lanterns to compensate. Finally, from what I saw there were four shared fire pits again at the front of the camp. Every other side, I've been to had a fire pit in front of each tent for you to do yourself. I will never go back to this place. Burn it down. read more

This place is unsafe and Wandercamp is an unaccredited business with a scoring of F with the Better Business Bureau in Utah due to their awful services, and even worse customer service or lack thereof. We had planned on a 3 night stay, night 1 we spent in the car, our tent was broken, the tent full of water, the beds wet, no lighting and no food, despite pre-paying for food. The camp has a "rain or shine" policy which is only applicable to the consumer, so they don't have to refund you. We had no food because it was raining, I had no communication of this. Camp hosts told me to call a customer service number, I left multiple messages and no reply, on my 4th attempt and agent said she couldn't do anything until she spoke with management on Monday. We had to find alternate accomodation. The road is into camp is described as bumpy, it is beyond bumpy, it's a swamp and a sedan vehicle such as I drive was unable to access camp after another day of heavy rainfall due to the mud. This place is not worth it, book somewhere in West Yellowstone with basic things like light, food and safety. read more

The WORST!!! The place is a dump & is nothing like the photos. It started out bad and just got WORSE!!! After I asked about making accommodations for my husband's c-pap machine, the person who answers the phone hung up on me and blocked my number. We still had to go since we paid and ended up with bed bugs. We had bites over 50% of our bodies and had to spend a vacation day at a laundromat washing everything. THEN -they promised to issue a refund. Waited 10 days and called back and they said they changed their mind and would give me 10% back. Now, if been over 2 weeks and everytime I call -they keep saying "just a few more days". This place is a SCAM!!! DO NOT GO!! They will lie, take your money and then ghost you. And good luck with the Bed Bugs! You are better off sleeping in your car with grizzly bears beating on the windows. read more

Meh. The tents are very nice. The bathrooms are ok. The road in was a bumpy muddy mess Check in was a breeze. Glad we were close to the bathroom, I felt sorry for the campers WAY out there. That would have been a hike. In the middle of the night someone checked in right next to us. They talked all morning long. I could hear every word. If you camp here please respect the ones already asleep. Coyotes yipping back and forth was cool. The little tent heaters are great for the cold mornings. Beds are very warm and soft. Don't think I'll do it again. One and done. Worth a try. read more

We rented two tents for one night on the last part of our Yellowstone trip. We have been exploring Tetons and Yellowstone for 11 days, having already stayed at an alternative glamping site earlier in the week. We are fairly well-versed in tent, camping and glamping so I was excited to end this trip on a high note. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. Very little communication came over and advance. I got a text message and an email an hour before arrival that had no specific instructions about where to go beyond the numbers on our tent. There are not great directions on the website and the area around the camp is private so we ended up driving in circles because we could not figure out how to get in based off of GPS directions . The website makes it look like it is an open field with beautiful views. On the left-hand side is a trailer park that was full during our stay and they shot off guns all afternoon. On the right were the beautiful mountaintops so I just turned my chair in that direction during our day. It is also close to main road so we were able to hear trucks passing into the evening . Not exactly the serene experience we were hoping for. On arrival we were greeted by staff standing next to their car, which was full of animals, trash and clothing, which made us think that they were probably living out of their vehicle. It was very unkempt and a weird experience to come upon as soon as we arrived. She was lovely, but something just felt off . Beyond the entrance was a pop-up tent that they called the kitchen. Please know that they will nickel and dime you for everything that you could possibly want, but you didn't bring with you. There are no amenities at this site beyond a tent and cold water. $10 for a single towel, $20 for a propane heater, and $30 for a s'mores kit which almost killed me. Given the very small amount of information that was shared in advance, this is very frustrating as you don't know what to expect before you arrive and then they price gouge you if you're missing something. I fully get running a business, but this is extortion. I fully recognize that this is camping and there will be bugs and wilderness outside. However, the amount of spiders and insects outside and inside of the tent was actually scary for my children and myself. I know logically that nothing was going to happen to anybody, but it was very weird the amount of dozens of spiders that were inside and outside of the tent. We have clamped before and this has never been an issue at any other site. There were two restroom trailers on either side of the road with the tents. Four showers in each one and three toilet only. They were not the cleanest, and the water was always weird. They left the windows open at the top so they were full of bugs as well. The biggest issue being that every time we wanted to use them, they were full because there were not enough stalls for the amount of tents and people staying on site. They left us small lanterns outside of our tent, but none of them were fully charged so we had to use our cell phones which burned our battery since we didn't have electricity. Overall, this was a really disappointing experience. I paid $300 for the two tents and I could've slept in my car and been more comfortable and happier. read more

It's hard to say this was a "glam"ping experience; it's just tent camping with a nice bed. The website makes it look way nicer than it really is. I'm convinced the 4-5 star reviews are fake, as they offer you free stuff in exchange for a review. I have honestly had better experiences truly tent camping. The cons: - The food truck on site was not in operation. - The fire pits are communal, and there isn't a seating area outside of your own tent. They do give you chairs inside of the tent that you could drag outside, but they weren't the ones shown in the photos online. We were given a wooden folding chair and the other was the comfy leather sling chair. - THE BATHROOMS. They are in portables in the communal area and were absolutely not as advertised. The shower did not have ANY hot water :( It also requires pulling on a chain in order for the water to flow, so you are basically showering one-handed the entire time. If you're shorter than 5'3", this is tricky as the chain is pretty high up (I'm 5'1" and was standing on my tippy toes to reach it). Considering most tent camping sites operate with quarter showers that at least usually have warm water, this was extremely disappointing as this was supposed to be GLAMping. The mirror is also super high above the sink, so I again had to stand on my tippy toes and even then I could barely see to put my contacts in. The cherry on top was that they charge TEN DOLLARS for a towel. - It was very cold, but they charge $25 for a heater that lasts 4 hours. We were so cold in the morning that we ended up changing clothes and doing our hygiene at a nearby restaurant. - There wasn't anywhere to fill up waters (other than the bathroom interior, which wasn't super clean). - The photos online make it look like a super cute area, but it's really just a farm lot off the freeway. We could hear cars all night and didn't sleep well at all. - The price. They upcharge for everything extra, and it wasn't cheap to begin with. We stayed at many airbnbs/glamping sites on our cross country trip that were not only cheaper, but also a better experience that included all the amenities (water bottles, soap, towels, etc.) The pros: - The bed was clean and comfortable. - The tent has double zippers to prevent bugs coming in. Overall, we were so disappointed with this experience and woke up at 6am the next morning to leave as soon as possible. It definitely was an experience, but not "glam", just "camp". This note is in relation to our stay in Starlight Tent Camp, West Yellowstone, from June 20, 2025 to June 24 2025, confirmation number 4959219406. When we booked our stay, our family liked the clean, well kept tents we saw in the photos, What we got was something soooooooo different. Within an hour of reaching the camp, an individual who called herself Lindsey, emailed us informing us that our accommodations had been changed and she gave us a new address to set into our google map. The really scary thing is that she demanded that we pay right then, through paypal or credit card, in order to hold our tents. We thought something was very wrong. We had previously been sent a message that we would pay only when we got to the camp. We thought we were being scammed. But when we called other hotels and motels in the area we were told that there were no vacancies anywhere. We were forced to pay right then on the site that Lindsey had just sent us. We had no other viable options. When we arrived at the new address given, Wander Camp, the appearance was very different from the photographs of the other place. didn't look nearly as kept up or clean. When we spoke to the staff there at the gate, we asked why we were redirected there and why we could not have our tents at Starlight. The staff told us that they did not know what we were talking about, that their company had nothing to do with Starlight, but they did see our names on the guest list there. Our immediate thought was a confirmation that we had been scammed and probably being double charged. The bathrooms, we were told, ran out of water frequently and the hot water heater didn't keep up with the demand. (In fact, during our stay two of us got stuck in the showers when the water ran out completely and they had to go to bed soapy. OK, not a matter of life and death, but again, not what we had booked and paid for). Again, because we had no other options, we drove down to our tents and looked around. The tents were both full of mold and dirt, the bathrooms were not "shared" as the website said, but rather a hike of approximately 1/8 of a mile. There was no electrical connection of any kind in the tent area ( the place was completely off grid) although the website for Starlight clearly said that there "would be a socket near bed." Later that night, I spoke to Annie, from the administrative office, and she listened. Annie listened to my complaints and offered to return our money for the first night and help find us better accommodations for the rest of our stay. The next day, we spoke with Rachel at the camp gate and she acknowledged that Annie was going to credit us the first night. We told her we would need help finding any other place to stay as everything in West Yellowstone was completely booked. She didn't know anything about that. Ok, the upshot is we wound up staying in a camp that was not what we had reserved and never would have booked purposely. In addition to this, the road to get there was so full of holes, I am not sure a car without all wheel drive would make it. We never received even a penny of credit for the first night of our stay. We were simply given a pig in a poke, scammed and made to feel like we were the problem when we spoke out. I've since been reading other people's reviews of Wander Camp and Starlight and there are many reviews stating treatment similar to what we suffered. We talked to a group coming in who were told the same thing about the address change, though they went over to the other place first. One of their party lost a pedal on their bike in one of those damned Wander Camp potholes. I was going to just let it go. However, when speaking with a friend, who happens to be one of the Travel writers for the Orange County Register, about our treatment, she became incensed. She said that our treatment was appalling and shameful. She demanded that I write to you to complain and to demand a full reimbursement of the amount we paid to stay at Starlight: $1,400.56. Oh, and by the way, when I was speaking with another administrative type from Starlight named Alvin, I told him that I was going to put in a complaint through Booking. He said that was ok. "They are our colleagues." If you want to stay in business, you might want to reexamine whom you take on as colleagues. read more

First of all, they have moved so the address on all of these sites is inaccurate. It's now located at Forest Road 061, which you don't find out till you're lost and contact them. They offer zero refunds for their false advertising that it is glamping when it's in actuality off grid camping with zero amenities associated with glamping. You will have no electricity. You will have no adequate running water without holding a pole chain shower with one hand while trying to wash yourself with the other. Customer service is all but none and they are not at all accommodating. I would not recommend you even worry about hassle or energy on this place find anywhere else. read more

Wish I had read some of these reviews before booking this. Spent $320 for two tents that were on opposite ends of camp, so my wife and I got to split up with our kids. When I asked why, the response I got was "the system just does it that way". Disgusting bathrooms that are portable and cheap. Very limited amenities. The camp is someone's cow pasture, so cows are walking around. Not a big deal, but not exactly a glamorous camping locale. Absolutely not worth it. read more

We stayed at Wander Camp Yellowstone last week and it was a fantastic experience. I had read a few bad reviews prior to our arrival so I got a little nervous but once we arrived I was confused by the negative reviews. Wander Camp is camping, rugged, in the outdoors, this is not a 5 star hotel, however, as far as camping goes it was super comfortable, we were warm and cozy and the bed mattress was amazing. The only thing I would suggest would be knowing more details about the extra optional amenities, like breakfast and dinner service at the outdoor stand and also the website was kinda difficult to navigate. I will say my husband tried calling and no one answered however within minutes we received a text message and had complete, quick communication with the representative. The fire pits are communal, the bathrooms are RV style but super clean. I did not shower but my daughter said the water temperature was not consistent but not bad. We will absolutely stay here again. DO NOT STAY HERE! TLDR: Raw sewage flooded showers, they refuse to refund. We stayed here for one night on a trip to Yellowstone, and because we had glamped and camped many times before, we thought we knew what to expect. The tents themselves are fine, if absolutely minimal, only cots and bedding, no towels, no chairs, nothing else at all. The food truck wasn't open at all, and we were told that they didn't have anyone to run it. This was all ok, if not what we would expect from 'glamping' - we had our own towels, and found somewhere to eat a short drive away. The bathrooms were terrible - significantly worse than you would find at an average campground. The shower didn't have 'running' water, instead, they had pull chains, and each pull would release a spurt of cold water. There were around 6 cubicles, each had a sink, a foot-pump toilet, and three had a shower - and all of them were extremely dirty, but usable. So far, it's just a disappointing campground claiming to be 'glamping', but it was the morning that was truly awful. The shower cubicles are raised, above the tanks where the toilet sewage and grey water goes - and the campground didn't have them pumped out. So in the morning, raw liquid sewage was overflowing, covering the toilet floors, and filling the shower pans - which meant that to shower, you would have to stand in three inches of raw liquid sewage! Even standing in the stalls to try and wash hands or brush teeth was disgusting - standing in sewage, trying not to vomit and to get out as fast as possible. The situation was the same in every single stall. After we left, we reached out to try and get a refund - and at first, they seemed professional, wanted to have a phone call, and set up a time. They then did not call. We reached out again, and they set up a new time - and didn't call. For several weeks now, we have been consistently reaching out, they reply to set up a call to 'talk about a refund', and then they do not call, and won't give us a number to call. This was not worth anywhere near the cost of it - and would be overpriced even if the showers were NOT flooded with raw sewage - which seems like it probably happens frequently, as they don't seem surprised, and the camp is poorly run. It is not 'glamping', it is bare-bones camping, and the customer service is terrible. read more

Management is completely unresponsive. If you have any issue during your stay, you will not hear back from them in a timely manner, and if you do, the responses you receive are not helpful. You also have to bring all of your own supplies as they have a very limited amount not corresponding to the number of tents which results in them running out. They will trade these limited supplies (firewood, heaters, propane, etc.) for good reviews the moment you arrive on site without having an actual experience to base your review on. If you don't experience any issues during your stay and are lucky enough to get the supplies if you didn't bring them yourself, then it's a fine place to stay, but you can get a better experience for the amount of money you have to pay to stay here elsewhere. read more

We stayed here in early July. First night was good and enjoyable. During the second day there was an massive storm that brought high winds, heavy rain, and hail. As a result, a few tents COLLAPSED and ours was tilting abnormally. We didn't feel safe staying there and went to a local hotel. The next day we reached out directly to the property and Airbnb to see about getting a refund for the second night given the conditions. Airbnb then also directly reached out to the property. Neither us nor Airbnb got a response in a timely manner, until Airbnb pushed it further, and the response we did get was generic and unhelpful. We were extremely disappointed in the customer service given how much we were paying for the night. I would recommend staying elsewhere where you can get the same if not better experience and customer service. At check in we were greeted by literal children to check us in- maybe 14-15. They told us the tent number but couldn't tell us which one it was. We get to the tent and it's a king bed when I booked two twins, we go back and these children tell us to go to another tent that they THINK is available? Finally, they find us a tent bc apparently planning for arrivals that booked two months in advance is really hard. Whoever put these clueless kids in charge should be ashamed of themselves. Then we have to go back and ask for the heater and lantern that were advertised bc they aren't there, the lantern was worthless and didn't light anything, it was a cheap one from the dollar tree which the children also had to run all over to find. There are no showers as advertised, no lit paths as advertised, no leather back chairs as advertised, HORRIBLE false advertising across the board. The bathrooms are disgusting, rarely have toilet paper, and won't lock. Then to top off the whole thing, we needed more propane for the heater we already paid $20 extra a night for and they said we had to pay another $10 bc the propane was supposed to last two nights; the new propane lasted 4 hours on low... so not sure how that's supposed to keep anyone warm for 2 nights. After looking closer this place has had 12 negative reviews in the last 3 months ALONE and have blown off multiple other people after they were unhappy. Lucky for them this review is limited characters bc I could keep going. read more
