There are moments in life when a man confronts something so fundamentally absurd that it forces him…read moreto reconsider the entire structure of reality. For me, that moment occurred at the blackjack table inside Cimarron Casino. I walked in expecting a game. Blackjack, after all, is supposed to be a rational system -- numbers, probabilities, risk, discipline. A contest between the player and the dealer mediated by the impartial mathematics of the deck. What unfolded instead felt like a philosophical demonstration that the universe is not governed by fairness, probability, or even basic statistical decency. For hours I watched the dealer operate in what can only be described as a higher dimension of blackjack existence. Bust cards simply did not apply. Hands that should collapse into ruin instead gracefully floated to twenty. The dealer would pull a five when a five was needed, a six when a six was required, a miraculous sequence of salvation that repeated itself so often it stopped feeling like luck and started feeling like cosmic mockery. Meanwhile, the players sat there experiencing the opposite law of nature -- a gravitational pull toward sixteen against a dealer ten, followed by the inevitable, soul-crushing decision: hit and perish, or stand and watch the dealer ascend to twenty with serene inevitability. At some point during the evening I stopped thinking about money altogether. The chips in front of me became symbolic rather than financial. I realized I was no longer gambling -- I was witnessing a philosophical parable about inevitability, futility, and the quiet cruelty of systems that appear fair while producing the same outcome over and over again. The dealers were calm, almost priest-like in their composure, dutifully turning over cards as if participating in a ritual that has been performed for centuries: the ritual of the player slowly realizing he was never meant to win. By the time I left, my bankroll had been completely annihilated, but more importantly my faith in blackjack as a game governed by chance had been thoroughly dismantled. If you wish to experience a place where probability appears to have filed for resignation and the dealer operates with the serene certainty of fate itself, Cimarron Casino will gladly provide that experience. I came to play blackjack. Instead, I received an existential lecture on the illusion of control.

It is a crafty approach actually. Twice the exposure on the review sites. [Even more confusing, there is a sign on the side of the building that says "Sunnyside Steakhouse"] The two names should give you a clue of cuisines served. If you guessed Mexican/American, you got it. On the menu this morning we found regular American breakfast food and huevos rancheros, Mexican potatoes and chorizo potatoes. You can mix the two cuisines to suit your preference. My wife and I both ordered The Pipeliner. A perfect name for a meal served up in "The pipeline capital of the world Cushing, OK." Two eggs, two bacon strips, potatoes of your choice, Toast or a biscuit. My wife chose the Mexican potatoes and I went with the spicy chorizo potatoes and a biscuit. Check the pictures. This was an excellent breakfast!! The restaurant/café is very nice. It has a steak house ambiance. Clean comfortable and superb service. This is your breakfast in Cushing OK! Hanging near the kitchen area is a large screen TV that has a loop of local businesses advertisements. Today's winner's slogan encourages customer to "drop their pants." I don't believe that I have ever had a bad meal at any restaurant that had the name "Granny" in it…read more Granny's Kitchen did not disappoint. Located on the SE corner 7th and Main St. in downtown Stillwater, in a nicely remodeled brick building. Inside, the restaurant is smartly decorated in a modern décor mixed with a connection to the past. Between the tee shirts that are for sale, historical pictures and a few artifacts representing rural farm life hang on the walls. In a few areas of the walls, the original brick work is exposed, but masked with a coat of paint. The building's true age shows through the makeup. The chaotic conglomeration of bricks testify that masonry skills and craftsmanship were not required of the builder, when the original structure was erected. Building codes likely not in vogue either. A work of historical beauty. On street parking. And directly behind the restaurant, on the east side, is a parking lot. On a busy weekend parking could be a challenge. Somewhat of a tourist attraction. Souvenirs for the out of towners are prominently on display for purchase. A bar is available to help celebrate yesterday's team victory or numb the pain of defeat. Patio seating is available. Breakfast was perfect. My usual. The picture describes the food. I told the server it was my first time, and she recommended a great meal and gave me a cinnamon roll. Warm and sticky. The meals are large; they said they make them large because it's a college town, and they want to give the kids leftovers. The restaurant is in the downtown area, with plenty of parking. Although the restaurant seems to be a chain, the staff and the food were excellent, so give it a shot. I would absolutely come back.
