Not a safe crowd of people at all. Race itself: Very nice! Well laid out, good course, good course support. Simple to get to the start line and out of the post-race village. In fact, the race felt smaller than it was, which means they did a great job with logistics.

This was our first time running this marathon which was in its 10th year. We were in for a big…read moresurprise as we expected a nice flat course. Clearly we didn't do our homework. The temperatures were in the 40s with gusty winds around 20 mph or more. It was our second marathon of the year and weekend and so we knew we wouldn't be comfortable. (The previous day Nicole and I had run in Chattanooga on Raccoon Mountain). The aid stations appeared to be about every 2 miles, which was good. There were three distinct food stations featuring orange slices, jelly beans, and Oreo cookies. To wash it down the electrolyte drink of choice was Powerade (blue, red and yellow) and of-course water. The course took you through at least three university campuses, a park system and quaint neighborhoods of Atlanta. I can't keep emphasizing the hills. They kept coming and coming! Despite the cooler weather which typically helps to increase course speed, this was not your PR course. The race swag included: a long sleeve shirt and a decent sized (although unattractive) medal 4" inches in diameter. Finishers got a lunch snack box, chocolate milk, water and a warming jacket to fend off the wind. Finishing in Centennial Olympic Park definitely was a nice touch and I felt like this marathon featured many different city segments.

The vibe is always positive, fun and uplifting. I look forward to this every year like Christmas. My daughter and I are from different generations but we ALWAYS can go together because they literally have something for all music taste. I like Neo-Soul, R&B, and some rap. She likes all that new rap lol. I have fallen in love with some of those new artists music too though. The price is always reasonable for all that you get to see and do. Toyota is always a big sponsor and they always give out some cool ass shirts and stuff. This is one positive thing I love about living in the A- being front and center here each year. I love to people watch for the latest fashions in the A and a good laugh too bc some people dress a mess! I hope they keep this at Piedmont Park or Centennial because it was effortless getting from stage to stage. Just all around love this event and will always come!!!

(3.5-4 stars) My ONE Music Fest 2025 Experience…read more This was my first time attending ONE Music Fest, and while it was an adventure for sure, I have a lot to say! Let's start with getting there -- whew! Arriving was stressful. I highly recommend taking an Uber because parking and traffic were a nightmare, and honestly, I don't feel as comfortable with the Metro anymore now that I'm older. Once we got there, the real wait began... I was in line for about an hour and a half, and it was a whole situation. Fights were breaking out, people were frustrated, workers looked like they were ready to clock out instead of checking people in. It just wasn't organized, and for the amount of money people spent, there definitely needs to be a better entry process next year. Once they finally fixed my ticket issue (thankfully the staff that did help were kind and professional), we made it through a shorter line -- and then the fun finally started! The setup overall was nice, but I do think the One Music vendor area was way too close to the first stage. The sound clashed and made it hard to enjoy the artists performing there. Stage 2 definitely needs some work next year too -- the audio crew wasn't on point at all. I could barely hear most of the performances. But listen... the Island Vendor Stage? They were the highlight for me! The energy, the crowd, the music -- it was giving good vibes all day. They really kept the party going and saved the experience for me. Leaving was much smoother -- we grabbed food, enjoyed the walk out, and honestly it ended on a positive note. The traffic outside Atlanta though? Let's just say I had to hop out and direct the car myself because it was that bad All in all, depending on the lineup next year, I might consider coming back. This was my first time celebrating my birthday at ONE Music Fest, and even with the chaos, it was still worth the experience and the money spent.

I did find the even to be somewhat disorganized though. Tents surrounded the crowd area, but it seemed to be more centralized on one side than another. They didn't have quite enough restrooms as there were lines everywhere I looked. They probably could have had more food options. There was the general fair food, as well as some other local places- Fox Brothers, for one. I also ran into King Of Pops. But I would have appreciated some other good food and reasonable prices. I thought there was going to be more going on than just the bands, but it looked like that was it. There wasn't as much artwork and other vendors as I thought there would be. If I'm not doing anything when this happens next year, I'll probably go, but I won't make it a must-attend.

It was unbearably hot, especially in the open field in front of the Main Stage. What would have helped here is some of the mobile misting units that are used in most other summer music festivals in the metro. A little more planning would make this a very good event, because the core pieces(free entrance, easily accessibility, great music, family friendly environment, good food and drink) are there. Mind you most of them are sorely lacking in quantity but they are there non the less. Hopefully next year, we will find this to be a better planned event.

Located in the Band room at the Little 5 Points Community Center, you'll likely hear them before you see them behind the double doors of the band room. Go inside and boy, you'll need to bring some earplugs, because it gets LOUD!!! But once you get over the volume, the appreciation of just how good these guys are starts to take hold. Even more impressive is these are all volunteers who do this for fun on the side. Makes me want to pull out my old high school band instrument! Where can you find these guys if you're not fortunate enough to hear them at their practice? They play a gang of festivals and charity events throughout the year. I have never heard them play at an event, but now that they're on my radar, i'll seek them out to hear them play for the public. Do yourself a favor and get down to one of their practice sessions if you're able to (especially if you know someone in the band), or even better, bring an instrument of your own and join in! Really, they welcome all comers. Excellent excellent group of people who make their hobby and passion sound good!

Seed & Feed was brought out to entertain the anxious crowd before her appearance and again to chaperone her onto the stage (well, basketball court, actually). The costumes! The energy! This park is a hidden gem, in a residential neighborhood, and it's full of birds in the morning…read more The best place to see and hear them is near the lake. I saw and heard a dozen species plus a turtle! I also met three locals who were very kind and helped guide me on the trails and helped identify birds I didn't recognize. Thanks Jim and Case and the other gentlemen with the dog. Please note, the trails are not all marked and my sense of direction/internal compass is totally on the Fritz. I would not recommend blundering around like I did so it's easy to get turned around. Birds seen for sure included the solitary sandpiper, eastern phoebe, wood duck, great crested flycatcher, black crowned night heron, a pair of red shouldered hawks and of course, the easy to spot cardinal. However, no beaver was found at beaver lake! Hello beaver?! Hello!? I will try again. The lake was way down on water so I hope the beaver found a wetter home! Life is good with natural wonders enjoying their day!
