This was our first time going with this company so I am not sure if this was an isolated incident. Essentially our guide cancelled on us 15 minutes before we were supposed to go paddle boarding. Super short notice and we drove all the way from Irvine. We tried to call for an explanation but he hung up and responded through text in which he only said sorry, have to cancel, will refund. We did get our refunds right away but how everything was handled was very unprofessional. If you do book this experience, double check that they will actually come through. read more

Went paddle boarding this weekend and used WanderSurf to rent our boards. It was such an awesome experience. Jason met up with us where we were on the bay and brought the boards right there! Once we were done, he came and grabbed all the stuff and this seriously made it so much easier. There was no clean up on our end. I arranged SUP lesson/tour with WanderSurf for 6 eleven/twelve year old girls for a birthday. From the beginning, Jason was quickly responsive to emails/texts. He sent a text the day before reviewing the location and weather conditions. When we got there, everything was ready to go. He gave the girls a land instruction on how to hold the paddle, how to paddle and stand-up. Then he set them off in the water 2 at a time and joined them for a tour. The girls loved it! Jason was great with the girls. He was so friendly - such a great personality! He also took pictures and video of the girls while on the water for me. HIGHLY recommend!! "Infinite Stars!" - As we were walking back to the car and talking about leaving a review for Jason, my daughter said "five stars" and my son interrupted her and yelled, "No, Infinite Stars!". This was the kid who didn't want to go and was complaining about being afraid to swim in the ocean the first half of the trip. Jason was incredibly great with my kids and put them at ease. He had them laughing and even jumping in the water by the end of the trip. We felt very safe with him, he gave clear instructions, and was fun to hang out with on the trip. He had a partner working with him that day and she was great as well! He pointed out rays and other objects that we wouldn't have seen otherwise and had great stories. He knows the location and picked a great spot for us. The weekend we went, San Diego had bumper-to-bumper traffic, but he took us to a place where it was pretty calm and quiet which was a lovely break from the congested rest of the day. I've now rented from Jason on two different occasions and I will be back for more! On the first trip, it was our first time paddle boarding and Jason gave us great instructions with a great sunset guided tour. The second trip, feeling a bit more adventurous and confident, Jason offered to drop off some boards for a two hour rental. I had a chance to get a lesson from Jason a few days ago, this was my first time doing stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and won't be my last. Jason, owner and instructor, goes over the basics on dry land and then comes out with you on the water and teaches you. He makes sure that you're comfortable each step of the way. Jason is very patient and is genuine when he wants you to succeed and have fun. I fell a couple times and then became confident, just went I felt in my legs and feet what a good workout it is. Wandersurf BC is awesome. We paddled out a little around 9 pm. The boards were very comfortable and easy to use, with different color LED lights so you can see around you/glow. I have terrible balance and the whole time I felt completely fine moving around, standing up, sitting. Most importantly, Jason made sure we were always comfortable and having fun. He's a great instructor and had everything ready for us by the time we got to the bay. (Even glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces to wear) I will keep recommending WBC to everyone! Jason gave excellent instruction for newbies and guided us through some amazing scenery on the water. My girlfriends and I wanted to take a few boards out to the bay. I contacted Jason and made arrangements to have the 3 boards dropped off at 730a on Friday. He was there early and had the boards all ready to go for us, what a convenience! We rented them for the day, best price in town and the quality was awesome. Great boards and paddles... the boards are lightweight and sturdy. None of us are experts but we had a blast for the day! This was my first time paddle boarding - what a great experience it was! Jason exceeded my expectations, I'd definitely go back. The boards were quite durable and sturdy, not the cheap foam kind. Shockingly, I didn't fall off once! From getting on, paddle positions, and turns WanderSurf really made my first SUP experience amazing. We even saw a dolphin as we were paddling back.
