Hot and sour soup and egg drop soup with complimentary wontons

Was craving Chinese food and was curious to see if this location was a sister restaurant to Wang's in the Desert (thankfully not lol). Small dive in a strip mall, we were seated promptly and our server was very nice and attentive. Ordered the lunch specials which are available 7 days a week, which is nice as some restaurants are M-F only. Each lunch special includes your choice of rice, soup, and egg roll for 11.25, which is a pretty good deal. I also had a glass of chardonnay and my BFF had a soft drink and the total OTD came to 34 bucks and change (before tip). As for the food, it was decent but I've had better as it was lacking some flavor. The portions are a good size as well, but won't be taking leftovers either, which is a good thing. Was a little warm inside as it was a 95 degree day so the AC could've been set lower than it was, but I get it these days with the cost. Overall, I recommend this place.

Avoid this place like the plague ...Wangs is under new management. This was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I couldn't even eat it. Everything was brown. Everything taste the same and it just was not good. I ordered chow fun and chow noodles both of my orders were combinations so it had shrimp, chicken, beef and pork. I had to pick out all the pork because it must've been 15 days old. I don't know, but I couldn't chew it very disappointed.

Sweet & Sweet and Sour Chicken (all white meat!)

We came here from a friend's recommendation. Glad we did; it's just 2.7 miles from our house. The food was delicious and plentiful! We each had an order of egg rolls. Tasty! Then our main entrees came, Sweet & Sour Chicken (all white meat). We also ordered the Shrimp in Black Bean Sauce (with a plethora of veggies). Both were very good! We'll be back for sure! It's in the middle of a strip of stores & restaurants. the waitress was friendly, and efficient! They have about 6 tables and 5 or 6 booths.

Shrimp in Black Bean Sauce Kung pao squid and scallops

Stopped in on a Saturday night at 6:30. Restaurant was quite busy but we were seated in just a few minutes. There were two servers who were also working the register and handling takeout orders. They were both hustling the whole time and the service was very good. We ordered the kung pao squid and scallops and the shrimp with black bean sauce. The food was excellent. Big portions and plenty of protein in each entree. This was our first time here and we'll definitely be back.

We order pickup from Wangs about once a month. We love this place and recommend to others often. This experience we decided we would dine in on Thanksgiving. We assumed they would be busy. Shortly after our friendly server seated us we noticed a nonstop swinging door of folks picking up orders and a fair share of folks dining in. Our server was prompt with drinks and appetizer's. We didn't mind the wait for the main dishes as we assumed there would be. The reason for the low star score was because the food lacked in usual flavors, meat wasn't as fresh as usual and was cold in some spoonfuls. Kinda disappointing. Actually, I thought to post about our experience given it was a holiday. However, I would think that cold spots in the food, lack of freshness and spice shouldn't be an issue with that amount of food being prepared for all of those orders. We'll be back. I look forward to giving a 5 star experience next time!

    2 Orders of Egg Rolls

Every time we are in the area, we stop here for a bite to eat. From a food perspective, I have never been disappointed. We had 2 orders of egg rolls. They were hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and delicious. The Kung Pao Three Special was excellent, with fresh vegetables and tender, moist, and flavorful proteins. The Lo Mein is one of our favorites, and it did not disappoint. The ONLY reason this is not a 5-star rating was that at the end of our meal, we were served two fortune cookies, which is customary. Can you believe they are now putting advertisements on the fortune? I go to dinner expecting to have a relaxing time, not to be bombarded with advertisements. I really hope that Wang's finds another supplier for their fortune cookies (the current supplier is Winfar Foods out of Chicago). Maybe I am overreacting, but I found putting ads in fortune cookies to be offensive.

Food is good and to go orders are quick. They charge a service fee that I don't get which keeps me from tipping as much as I would.

My two go-to appetizers are the spring rolls and the fried tofu. The spring rolls have a lot of lettuce in them, which I like. They are cut up into smaller pieces than a Vietnamese place might do. It comes with a peanut sauce. The fried tofu has a dipping sauce, but I tend to supplement with the little caddy of sauces on the table. I've gotten noodles and tofu dishes at this location. They're always fine; never quite what I am hoping for, but good. The place is quite small and sometimes a little warm. (I totally understand saving money on AC, when there aren't many people coming in.) Food comes out pretty fast. Iced tea is served in a big to go cup, which I appreciate. Prices are reasonable. Portion sizes are pretty big.

The staff is very pleasant and friendly. The food is typically well prepared and tasty. Portion sizes had also been above average. Our most recent order was a bit of a shock. Prices have soared, portions have shrunk and some of the food prep was dismal. The food still tasting good was a consolation. One item we ordered was chicken lettuce wraps. The seasoned ground chicken tasted good and then there was lettuce. The lettuce "leaves" consisted of 4 pita chip sized core piece. No wrapping was going to happen with this. Moving forward, we get our Thai elsewhere.

Can't even tell you the last time I've been to a buffet. Finally tried it out for lunch. They offer lunch from a certain time with a price that's totally worth it. Also, they offer prices for kids based on ages. And a discount for 65 and older. The place is just along the main strip along the boarder of Rancho Mirage and Cathedral City. Plenty of parking along the front with a few covered car port right in front. Right when you walk in, there's a little waiting area with arcades games. Something to do while you wait when it's busy. We stopped in for lunch which is until 3pm I believe. For the price, it was worth it. There was a good amount of people already when we walked in. Checked in with hostess and was seated right after. Like I mentioned, buffet tends to be a hit or a miss. Well, it was a nice start. Just browsing the rows of trays, there were loads of items to choose from. It's a Chinese buffet with loads of items. You have all your classic dish, orange chicken, beef broccoli, chow mein, egg rolls, sautéed green beans, and so on. A few fish options, chicken items, fried stations, soups, dim sum, sushi station, seafood, fruits, salad, as well as the Mongolian grill section where you create your own dish and its cooked right infront for you. Don't forget to tip the chef. Dessert station was limited but a few items. Lunch selections were decent and loads to choose from. Dinner, I assume there's other items added only for dinner. Probably more seafood I assume. For the price, it was worth it. Quality of food was good. Station was alway refilled every-time I went up to see what else was available. Service was great as the waiter in our section was constantly making sure that our drink was refilled. For the price for lunch, it was worth it. A good selection to choose from. May need to try dinner and compare to see which I prefer better.

Of course with this heat wave, it's so hot to sit outside which the patio tends to be pretty off limit in the heat. Unless you prefer it. We came for dinner which was still pretty early. There's two main entrance, the front and the side/back where the patio is. And two dining area, front and back. Well we walked in, it was a little daunting as we were the only one there. That does have an effect of do we stay or leave. Anyways, we stayed as we enjoyed our meal last time. It did pick up during our meal. Service was great with our waiter. Constantly refilling our waiter without us having to mentioned it. Menu wise, a good amount of Thai dishes that you would be familiar with. The only downfall, they don't have noodle soup which is a favorite for me. If a restaurant has it, that's a plus. Well they don't carry it. Also there's a bar so that's good as well. Honestly it doesn't matter to me with Thai food if they bring out starters before or with the meal. I'm going to enjoy it regardless. Food, we had the chicken larb. Minced meat with Thai spices and a nice sour sauce. So good and had it with a side of rice. That's normally served with cabbage but this time it's with Napa cabbage. Never had it that way but it was still good. Entrees, the spicy noodles. So many different names for them but all the same. Thin rice noodle with whatever protein and slice veggies all tossed together with a nice sauce on top of lettuce. Some places add that while others don't. Lastly the massaman curry, with carrots, potatoes and peanuts in a rich curry sauce. The food was good and very tasty. Portion wise was plentiful and perfect for a main or à la carte with friends.
