The evening before Wang's last health inspection, that closed them down for weeks, I ordered Moo Shu Pork and when I opened the container at home the food smelled horrible. Today, after Wang's being reopened for some time, I ordered Moo Shu Shrimp, and half the shrimp smelled fishy and their texture was mushie; they were not fresh. Sadly, It appears Wang's is having difficulty securing fresh protein and/or storing it. I have given Wang's 2 chances to serve the delicious fresh food they use to, but I am now searching for a new Chinese restaurant. Things just got worse. The manager just called to tell me their refrigerator went down yesterday on their Monday day off; no one realized it until I called about my unsatifactory dish. Do they have no Quality/Freshness Control System that would identify a freshness problem before food went into the pan today? Did no one see or smell a lack of freshness when opening the refrigerator today? I certainly can in my own home frig. So sad. Was craving Chinese food and was curious to see if this location was a sister restaurant to Wang's in the Desert (thankfully not lol). Small dive in a strip mall, we were seated promptly and our server was very nice and attentive. Ordered the lunch specials which are available 7 days a week, which is nice as some restaurants are M-F only. Each lunch special includes your choice of rice, soup, and egg roll for 11.25, which is a pretty good deal. I also had a glass of chardonnay and my BFF had a soft drink and the total OTD came to 34 bucks and change (before tip). As for the food, it was decent but I've had better as it was lacking some flavor. The portions are a good size as well, but won't be taking leftovers either, which is a good thing. Was a little warm inside as it was a 95 degree day so the AC could've been set lower than it was, but I get it these days with the cost. Overall, I recommend this place. read more

Avoid this place like the plague ...Wangs is under new management. This was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I couldn't even eat it. Everything was brown. Everything taste the same and it just was not good. I ordered chow fun and chow noodles both of my orders were combinations so it had shrimp, chicken, beef and pork. I had to pick out all the pork because it must've been 15 days old. I don't know, but I couldn't chew it very disappointed. read more

We came here from a friend's recommendation. Glad we did; it's just 2.7 miles from our house. The food was delicious and plentiful! We each had an order of egg rolls. Tasty! Then our main entrees came, Sweet & Sour Chicken (all white meat). We also ordered the Shrimp in Black Bean Sauce (with a plethora of veggies). Both were very good! We'll be back for sure! Food is good and to go orders are quick. They charge a service fee that I don't get which keeps me from tipping as much as I would.

Wang's food is always fresh, served steaming hot and full of flavor. I especially appreciate the fact that the meats used in their dishes are always succulent and never have that "slime" coating that is found in so many of the other Chinese Restaurants found in the valley. I ordered Kung Pao chicken and combination fried rice. The kung pao chicken was just okay. I ordered it mild and next time I will order it medium. The mild had zero spice and was very bland. Maybe that was my mistake. The combination fried rice was strange. I expected chicken, beef, pork and shrimp. I got pork, a few shrimp and some other "protein" I couldn't identify. It was Snow White and tasteless. The rice itself was okay, but the unidentifiable strange protein was not good. I'm not sure I'll try them again. read more

This is an update to our previous very favorable reviews. We had takedown a few weeks ago; sadly it was cold and inedible. So, based on our previous great experiences, we decided to eat in and give feedback if there were problems. Well, we ordered our 4 favorite dishes, that we enjoyed there multiple times: Hot & sour soup ; Pot stickers; My shu vegetables; Spicy chicken. Appetizers came out cold and not nice, hot & sour soup was not warm, spicy hot nor sour. Sent it back with detailed requests for improvement. Came back the same. Stopped in on a Saturday night at 6:30. Restaurant was quite busy but we were seated in just a few minutes. There were two servers who were also working the register and handling takeout orders. They were both hustling the whole time and the service was very good. We ordered the kung pao squid and scallops and the shrimp with black bean sauce. The food was excellent. We order pickup from Wangs about once a month. We love this place and recommend to others often. This experience we decided we would dine in on Thanksgiving. We assumed they would be busy. Shortly after our friendly server seated us we noticed a nonstop swinging door of folks picking up orders and a fair share of folks dining in. Our server was prompt with drinks and appetizer's. We didn't mind the wait for the main dishes as we assumed there would be. The reason for the low star score was because the food lacked in usual flavors, meat wasn't as fresh as usual and was cold in some spoonfuls. Kinda disappointing. Actually, I thought to post about our experience given it was a holiday. However, I would think that cold spots in the food, lack of freshness and spice shouldn't be an issue with that amount of food being prepared for all of those orders. We'll be back. Every time we are in the area, we stop here for a bite to eat. From a food perspective, I have never been disappointed. We had 2 orders of egg rolls. They were hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and delicious. The Kung Pao Three Special was excellent, with fresh vegetables and tender, moist, and flavorful proteins. The Lo Mein is one of our favorites, and it did not disappoint. The ONLY reason this is not a 5-star rating was that at the end of our meal, we were served two fortune cookies, which is customary. Can you believe they are now putting advertisements on the fortune? I go to dinner expecting to have a relaxing time, not to be bombarded with advertisements. I really hope that Wang's finds another supplier for their fortune cookies (the current supplier is Winfar Foods out of Chicago). Maybe I am overreacting, but I found putting ads in fortune cookies to be offensive. read more

The location is a bit odd, small restaurant in a strip mall and not a-lot of seating. We had the Po Po Platter for two - was good other than the foil wrapped item which stuck to the foil, too bad because was tasty. I have never spent so much on a completely horrible dinner. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was shameful. Baby shrimp covered in so much batter that I couldn't tell what was shrimp and what was breading! The Crispy Orange Chicken was equally as bad. Tiny pieces of chicken covered in thick chewy batter! This is the worse take out I have ever had. Never again! So disappointing. read more

The Vegetable Lo Mein with Tofu at Wang's is great, and the takeout service is quick and accurate. As a vegetarian, I enjoy the food from Wang's, and my non-veg family enjoys a variety of dishes from the restaurant, including General Tso's Chicken and the seafood combo, Orange Chicken, and Pork Egg Fu Yung. I went to this restraunt with my brother and absolutely loved it. We ordered orange chicken and Singapore noodles. The orange chicken was juicy,crispy and perfectly coated with sauce. This could be the worst Chinese Food experience I have ever had. We went there with a party of 6. We ordered quite a few dishes to give this place a fair try. We ordered steamed dumplings; egg rolls; beef chow fun; string beans with garlic; bok choy with mushrooms; salt and pepper fish fillet; sweet and sour shrimp; roast pork; and Egg foo Young. On the positive side the string beans were the best of what we ordered followed by the dumplings. The Roast Pork was over cooked and dry and laden with some unrecognizable orange sauce. The Bok Choy ended up being snow peas and mushrooms. When I asked why the substitution, the wait person didn't understand the difference between Bok Choy and Snow Peas. Sweet and Sour Shrimp was so heavily coated and sauced it was also unrecognizable and tough to eat. The fish was ok, but fried to death. Egg foo young, we were looking forward to was only ok with a generic brown sauce. Probably one of the more edible dishes. Egg rolls...might as well just buy it frozen at Trader Joe's....and BTW they were spring rolls not the traditional egg rolls. We were hoping to find a place to order from for a Chinese New Year's party and this is definitely OFF THE LIST. If I could have given 0 stars I would have. read more

I wasn't satisfied, unfortunately. I really wanted to like this place since we don't have great chinese restaurants in the valley. However, the service upon arrival wasn't great. I felt dismissed. No one came to our table for long periods of time. Then when we got the food (chicken fried rice, combination fried rice, cream cheese wontons) everything was lacking flavor and portions were smaller than expected. I've been eating Wang's food for the past seven years. I eat in the restaurant and more often, I take food out. The food is tasty, fresh, traditional and reliably predictable. My favorites are the soups, particularly the egg drop and spicy egg drop. For appetizers, I like the steamed dumplings, and for entrees, I like the spicy eggplant, string beans, steamed vegetables, chicken in lettuce cup and shrimp with lobster sauce. Ambiance is neighborhood mom and pop style, and service is efficient and friendly. I highly recommend Wangs. (five stars) read more
