It is a small place in walking distance from the Hampton Inn. The food was really good and a very large portion. The space is a cluttered mess of tacky and kind of campy art. The service was fast and effecient.

If you're looking for delicious Thai food this establishment will give you the homie feel as if you're eating at a friend's family home so welcoming and served best Thai Tea to go along with your lunch or dinner. They need more recognition for their exceptional food and customer service, even though it's a little hidden but atmosphere is so calming and relaxing to enjoy some good food. This restaurant has become one of my favorite Thai restaurants hands down. Definitely would recommend and they deserve 5 stars overall

After a 3 year hiatus from eating here after the last experience, we thought we'd check out the cleanliness status and try again, because the food was delish. Wouldn't you know...a fresh coat of paint, updated light fixtures, minor decor updates and a deep cleaning resulted in a much improved experience ! Food was great! The service was really friendly and fast! Hot food was fresh and flavorful. We actually returned for a second meal a few weeks later. Lots of takeout here, as well we were treated to a bowl of coconut nd corn "pudding". This traditional dessert was weird, but good. We were too full to eat much more than a spoonful but it was a nice, light dessert.

If you enjoy the vibe of a family business, you will like it here. The decor feels like grandma and mom wanted to open a restaurant, so they did. Not exactly a luxurious set up, more in the realm of kitchen table comfy. The food was very good and prepared quickly. We each finished our plates, which had a lot of food on them. The meal was yummy. The service was ok. Not like they are going to chat a bit, more of a "what would you like" style. Price-wise, a little high, but what isn't? I enjoyed to way it felt as if I was coming to their home and that they built this restaurant in the back of the house. Check the walls, there are menu items there sometimes also. And, get the mango sticky rice for dessert. Done well!!!

Lady was nice and remembered me. She said it would take 15 minutes but it was faster. Like 10. Honestly this time was very disappointing. Everything tasted not so fresh. The tempura was very hard and dumplings didn't taste as amazing as last time. The protein beef, chicken, and tofu in the pad see ew were so hard and old. It was a big let down. The flavor was there though. But this experience definitely made me not want to return. Bummer.

Does your food have MSG in it?

MSG is found in soy sauce naturally...so asking any Asian restaurant if they add soy sauce is kind of a moot point. If any is added to their food, it's probably far less…

    Do you have vegan options?

You can order any menu with Tofu. I recommend curry and vegetable+tofu pho.

I've been to a few which you think they'll be good but it was a little disappointing. Alway hunting for amazing Thai food... My second time here and it's good. Of course with this heat wave, it's so hot to sit outside which the patio tends to be pretty off limit in the heat. Unless you prefer it. We came for dinner which was still pretty early. There's two main entrance, the front and the side/back where the patio is. And two dining area, front and back. Well we walked in, it was a little daunting as we were the only one there. That does have an effect of do we stay or leave. Anyways, we stayed as we enjoyed our meal last time. It did pick up during our meal. Service was great with our waiter. Constantly refilling our waiter without us having to mentioned it. Menu wise, a good amount of Thai dishes that you would be familiar with. The only downfall, they don't have noodle soup which is a favorite for me. If a restaurant has it, that's a plus. Well they don't carry it. Also there's a bar so that's good as well. Honestly it doesn't matter to me with Thai food if they bring out starters before or with the meal. I'm going to enjoy it regardless. Food, we had the chicken larb. Minced meat with Thai spices and a nice sour sauce. So good and had it with a side of rice. That's normally served with cabbage but this time it's with Napa cabbage. Never had it that way but it was still good. Entrees, the spicy noodles. So many different names for them but all the same. Thin rice noodle with whatever protein and slice veggies all tossed together with a nice sauce on top of lettuce. Some places add that while others don't. Lastly the massaman curry, with carrots, potatoes and peanuts in a rich curry sauce. The food was good and very tasty. Portion wise was plentiful and perfect for a main or à la carte with friends. I'm alway on the hunt for amazing Thai food and this place is quite nice.

*Nice Little Family Owned Asian Market*…read more I will admit this place slipped through my radar. Tho I don't live too far from here and drive by all the time, it's an unassuming place in an older building, and assumed it's an Oriental gift shop or rug store. Because their signage is small and doesn't stand out too much when I've driven by. Recently discovered Fil Am on Yelp browsing through my local search feed. I like to support local but was surprised to see I missed out on this place. But thrilled to learn it's a small family owned Asian grocery store, with a hot foot counter too, serving up takeout Filipino food. Planned a visit here when otw back home from errands, but what I hadn't planned on was walking out with more than I anticipated. After browsing through every aisle in the store, I found some Japanese Sweet Yams for only $1.99/lb and happily picked 5 perfect potatoes. I thought that was going to be the end of it, but knew I'd be back again here in the near future. Just when I thought it was over: While waiting for a regular customer to check out & pay at the register, I noticed a sign that read "$10 minimum for ATM & credit cards" which I can totally understand why, being a small mom & pop shop. Since it was lunch time and didn't feel like making my own lunch (again) once back home or having a cold shake to cool me down, figured I'd maybe try some Filipino food instead. Because I read some reviews expressing it's very good and pretty good -- particularly the Pancit = noodles similar to vegetable chow main. Ordered a shall container that was packed deep inside the container and figured I'll keep it at that for my first time here. But then saw some veggies calling my name because I love orange Asian squash, along with the okra, green beans and carrots...and asked for a small container. Okay, now I was set (so I thought) and figured it'd keep it light with a vegan lunch on a blistering hot May day. But then I saw the Adobo chicken and it looked good so I figured I'd get a small order to sample for some more protein. Especially when Marlin, the sweet gal assisting me, promised it's not too salty nor spicy. Okay..so now I was really set with more than I had intended but figured it'd be my lunch and dinner too. But I'm partially conflicted with the food for this review because I don't usually eat much Filipino food. But I eat lots of Asian food, as it's one of my favorite food cultures, and happen to think I have good taste and know Asian food. And I know what's what when it comes to well-prepared food. First of all the service here is so warm & friendly. I felt very welcomed and comfortable here (even tho it was 105 degrees outside) yet the temp inside was just right. All 3 gals here greeted me with a friendly "hello" and smiles. Major bonus points. One of the first things I noticed was the store did not stink and smell one bit like other mom & pop asian stores I've been to before. There's a parking lot in the back, where I entered the store. There's also a front entrance on Date Palm Canyon. The Food Review: Most of the prepared hot food is served ala carte inside small/medium/large containers for takeout as there's nowhere here to eat. Everything is securely packaged with tender love & care for takeout. No drips no runs no errors. The veggies ~~ were very good and fresh. The taste was pretty good and the flavor was accented with fish sauce that was not expected. But it tasted like anchovies. I love all fish but not anchovies. The price seemed a little steep for the portion. But I get it and food costs. Pancit ~~ noodles were great. Veggies fresh and crisp. But the flavor was too salty for me and dominated by soy sauce. Portion was equal to value. I wasn't feeling the lemon juice packet that came with the noodles. I'm sure it cuts out some of the salt & soy sauce, but like I said, wasn't feeling it, and anything sour. Chicken Adobo ~~ the chicken was very dry and chewy and was like eating beef jerky. The sauce was extremely salty. Sauce was filled with too much corn starch and the leftovers for round 2 at dinner time, was thicker than jello. Portion equates to price point. Not sure if this was just an off day or this is the norm. But I probably won't be eating takeout food here next time. All day & night I could not stop drinking water from the sodium overload in all the food. But there will be a next time for some of their Asian grocery items and outstanding friendly customer service...and as mentioned to Marlin, I intend to be a regular customer.

Good! Great! We loved it!…read more My family attends the Paribas tournament every year and we've exhausted almost all of our restaurant options in the Palm Springs area. I feel like everything is overpriced and starts to taste the same. Luckily for us, we found ourselves here. Who knew that sushi in the desert would hit the spot? First off, Otori takes resys. Secondly they have a pretty extensive menu - a lil something for everyone. Of the starters, I did really like the seaweed salad ($10.95). The version here is topped with imitation crab, radish, and daikon. It was a nice juxtaposition of textures and flavors. My mom loved the Avocado Bomb ($15.95) which is just deep fried avocado stuffed with imitation crab, spicy tuna, and cream cheese. It was just a delicious mashup of things we generally like. They have a wide selection of rolls you can choose from: fresh, baked + tempura. Honestly, everything we ordered tasted great. There are so many combinations to choose from, you're bound to find something you'd like. I found the nigiri to be pretty tasty as well. It wasn't overtly fresh, but good enough given the desert situation. Service was top notch. Highly recommend eating at Otori if you're tired of braised short ribs, salmon, and all the steak in the great Coachella Valley.
