To be fair, I am not a huge fan of most Thai food because I find it all a little sweet. But, I do enjoy Bangkok Noodles because I have found some dishes that are more savory. My two go-to appetizers are the spring rolls and the fried tofu. The spring rolls have a lot of lettuce in them, which I like. They are cut up into smaller pieces than a Vietnamese place might do. It comes with a peanut sauce. The fried tofu has a dipping sauce, but I tend to supplement with the little caddy of sauces on the table. I've gotten noodles and tofu dishes at this location. They're always fine; never quite what I am hoping for, but good. The place is quite small and sometimes a little warm. (I totally understand saving money on AC, when there aren't many people coming in.) Food comes out pretty fast. Iced tea is served in a big to go cup, which I appreciate. Prices are reasonable. We have only dined in the restaurant once. The decor and lighting are not appealing. After that we have done takeout many times over the last 5 yrs. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. The food is typically well prepared and tasty. Portion sizes had also been above average. Our most recent order was a bit of a shock. Prices have soared, portions have shrunk and some of the food prep was dismal. The food still tasting good was a consolation. One item we ordered was chicken lettuce wraps. The seasoned ground chicken tasted good and then there was lettuce. The lettuce "leaves" consisted of 4 pita chip sized core piece. No wrapping was going to happen with this. Sunday night dinner. One person working the entire front of the house. You did not notice though, she was amazing. Everything we ordered, we could not get enough of. We started with the Crab Rangoons. They were super crisp with a side sweet sauce. My partner had the drunken noodles. They were cooked to perfection with a perfect sauce. We had a large Tom Kha soup at the restaurant recently, and there were several delicious portions, with some left over to take home. The delivery, however, was only two measly, small bowls, for $24. This small restaurant is within walking distance of the Hampton Inn where I stayed in Cathedral City, so I walked over and enjoyed the food. The interior of the oddly-shaped restaurant is understated and perhaps a wee bit tacky, but I wasn't there for that. The food was fantastic! I got drunken noodles. When asked what spice level I wanted out of five, I told the waitress I wanted a 5/5. She looked at this white guy rather strangely and walked off to place my order. The cook came out to verify my spice order because apparently they don't have white folks ordering spice like that. Once the food came out and I started to dig in, the cook came back out to see if it was spicy enough and the quality good enough. I confirmed that both of these were fantastic and that I would be back. When I'm back in Cathedral City, I will definitely be back for more of this delicious Thai food. read more

First time trying Bangkok Noodles. It was okay. It's a strangely shaped room and sort of a weird use of space. It looked clean but a tad cluttered. The woman who was working seated us right away (only one other table was taken). We ordered Pad Thai, Chicken with Basil, and Tom Ka soup. It was all just okay. The chicken with basil was the best of the bunch. I found a bone in a piece of chicken in the soup, which was off-putting. I didn't say anything to the server. It was clear that it was just her and someone in the kitchen, and I didn't feel like causing a problem, accidents happen, sometimes bones are hard to find when chopping up chicken. All that said, will likely continue our search for good Thai food elsewhere. read more

If you're looking for delicious Thai food this establishment will give you the homie feel as if you're eating at a friend's family home so welcoming and served best Thai Tea to go along with your lunch or dinner. They need more recognition for their exceptional food and customer service, even though it's a little hidden but atmosphere is so calming and relaxing to enjoy some good food. This restaurant has become one of my favorite Thai restaurants hands down. Definitely would recommend and they deserve 5 stars overall read more

After a 3 year hiatus from eating here after the last experience, we thought we'd check out the cleanliness status and try again, because the food was delish. Wouldn't you know...a fresh coat of paint, updated light fixtures, minor decor updates and a deep cleaning resulted in a much improved experience ! Food was great! The service was really friendly and fast! Hot food was fresh and flavorful. We actually returned for a second meal a few weeks later. Lots of takeout here, as well we were treated to a bowl of coconut nd corn "pudding". This traditional dessert was weird, but good. This is the most dysfunctional restaurant I've ordered from in a long time. I ordered placed the order online came 20 minutes later they hadn't even started it. She went back and yelled at the chef turned around and came back, looked on her computer and then walked in the back and yelled some more. I waited another 30 minutes. The food was mediocre at best. Place was quiet and almost empty. Service was attentive and not intrusive at all. The food was unexceptional, I guess. It was great that they had Tod Mun on menu for an appetizer. Fried fish cakes were tasty in a cucumber-laced sweet/sour sauce, (which was a bit tame in flavor). The main course wasn't anything special (green curry with pork) which was a major disappointment. Not exactly a luxurious set up, more in the realm of kitchen table comfy. The food was very good and prepared quickly. We each finished our plates, which had a lot of food on them. The meal was yummy. The service was ok. Not like they are going to chat a bit, more of a "what would you like" style. Price-wise, a little high, but what isn't? This is a staple in my family's monthly dinner. The food is fresh and super flavorful. It is a small family business so limited seating but it's always clean and they are always very courteous and welcoming! You can tell they love to share their food and culture. It is truly always delicious and I can't get enough of this place. Highly recommend for an intimate dinner or take out. Again, for the location, you wouldn't expect much, which is why I was pleasantly surprised when I tried their food and realized that their spice level 5 was indeed Thai hot. No food photos because we were too hungry to stop and take pics! We ordered 3 entrees and it was 1 entree too many for my mom and me though we liked the variety. Eggplant with chicken was the surprise hit. A thin but flavorful sauce coats the tender chicken breast, onions, red and green peppers, and pieces of eggplant. This one comes with a side of rice, so great for sopping up the yummy sauce! Yum Woon Sen glass noodle salad is served room temp. I think this is always a salad with shrimp but this restaurant's version also adds in chicken so its pretty hearty. A clean tasting fish sauce, citrus, and chili coat the cellophane noodles, whole peanuts, shredded carrots, red onion slices, and basil. A refreshing dish and a great accompaniment particularly if you order anything fried. We got the pad thai with cubed, fried tofu and this one was full of fresh peanuts, bean sprouts, and green onion slivers. The sauce, forever, was quite sweet. Wondering if this dish gets tamed down for the folks who don't know Thai food well? The glass noodle salad and eggplant dish were both hits. The food was so fresh and authentic. You could taste the wok flavor on my pork pad Thai, and no egg shells! I've been finding that to be an issue with pad Thai lately. I love their food! I always pick up on my way home, haven't had the pleasure of eating there, but I've ordered the Pad Thai, Glass Noodles are so yummy, with a kick of spice their vegetable egg rolls are really yummy!! I always like to order the papaya salad, but you got to get it earlier in the day because it does run out! Their basil entree with any meat is delicious! Of course my husband is a big Beef & Broccoli fan but honestly we've ordered 3-4 times, never anything bad & the lady there, not sure if she's the owner but she's so friendly!!
