The mushu chicken was ok but didn't wow me or anything. The rice however was terrible and tasted like instant rice- it was hard and dry in texture. We love to try different vegan options at Chinese restaurants. We tried China Jo's a couple of nights ago (delivery), and we were blown away! The flavor is so good and the texture of the tofu is perfect! You'd swear you were eating chicken. It was delivered in a microwave safe container, and leftovers were just as good the next day! They have so much to choose from, so there's something for everyone. However I saw Mapo Tofu on the menu and immediately knew I wanted to try it. The lady who took my order was very sweet, and let me know that I could have the tofu with either minced chicken or minced pork - I chose chicken. My order was ready very quickly, and I was really surprised by how large the portion was, especially considering the price! A generous portion of tofu, a side of white rice, and a bottle of water only set me back about $15. The food at China Jo's reminds me of the classic Chinese food back in the 70's; professional prepared with lots of great taste. We have had the Crab Ragoons, Yang Chow Fried Rice, Chicken Chop Suey, and the Mongolian Beef. Each of these dishes were excellent. The owners are friendly, and the service is excellent. They also have Covid protection measures in place to keep everyone safe. China Jo's is a great takeout option any day of the week.
