This place is a gem!!!!! I had been in the market for months for a handgun after doing so much research I ended up here and was so happy I did. Ryan is great! Helpful, friendly, and takes time to be as informative as possible. This is where I buy all my ammo now and recently ordered another gun that I am sending here because they are secure and trustworthy. If in the area, don't look anywhere else.

Ask the Community - Wanney's Firearms

Do you require notification before accepting an online ammunition order?

No we don’t. Just order and have it sent

I have a 38 long colt revolver (New Army?) in questionable condition. Are you able to work on it, repair and adjust? Do you offer estimates?

You would have to bring it in. There is no way to answer this question over a message.

Transfer Fees for Long Guns purchased online from PSA?

$125 to receive $10 processing fee. $37.19 for dros. Have to collect ca sales tax and the new 11 percent if they don’t. Once we get it and unbox, log in, prep the paperwork we will text for an appt for paperwork. No waiting around.

Do you buy used guns?

Yes we do. That would require an appt. Please text me at (714) 328-3834 to set one up.

Do you facilitate transfer of a gun given by a friend but owned by his nephew? if so, how much? thanks

The owner of the gun must come in to do the transfer. Yes we can do this. It would require an appointment. You can text me at (714) 328-3834 for an appt.

I dont have a Real ID only a federal limits apply ID, can I still purchase a gun at your store?

Yes as long as you have a US birth certificate or passport

Do you guys have any fmk handgun in stock by any chance? if so by any chance can you give me an price on that

Yes we do. You can text me at (714) 328-3834 if want an appointment to come in and look at them.

How much do you charge to swap out iron sights on sig pistols? How long does it take?

We don’t do sig sights. They are a little more difficult. If you text me at (714) 328-3834 I can provide you with a gun smith in Cypress who can do them for you.

Do you guys have any fsc test appointment or do you need a appointment to take an fsc or an fsc renew?

To just take the FSC exam you don’t need an appointment. Only if want to buy a firearm. Can come Tuesday through Saturday 11am to 7pm to take the exam.

Are you appointment only like one of the reviews mentions?

For buying guns yes, or customizing a gun All 1 on 1 appt. You get our full attention. And no waiting around forever. Anything else ammo, cleaning supplies, optics, etc you don’t need an appt. Just stop by. We are closed Sunday and Mondays. Tuesday…

Do you accept Online Ammunition Order Shipment? How much fee you charge?

Yes we do $5 per kind of ammo plus the background check. But tips are very appreciated hahaha

Are you still a Glock Blue Label Program dealer?

Yes

Cost of an FFL for online purchase and pickup?

Firearms are $125 to receive $10 processing fee $37.19 for the background check. $25 if need safety card. And if they don’t collect Ca tax we have to. When we get it we will prep all the paperwork and then contact for an appointment to come do…

How much for a ffl transfer?

Private party? Or buy online and have it sent?

How much for the FFL transfer?

Do you guys do FFL transfer for ammo?

First time gun buyer, and I didn't know what to expect. The gentleman that helped me was blunt but…read morehelpful. I probably annoyed him because I signed the wrong spot on the paper and it was near closing time. However, that doesn't take away from the process of how helpful the staff is when it comes to helping you out with your purchases or anything related to the sales of guns. Here's the process for all customers I think and first time buyers will be detailed below: Oh first thing is first, you'll need: - Have your invoice (if you order online) and let the clerk know where you ordered it from: Their website (Ammo Bros) or a third party website. This will help the clerk find the gun easier. - Picture ID (Driver's Licenses) - Secondary form of ID w/ address (Car registration, utility bill etc) - F.S.C. Card (if you do not have this, they will provide a test for you which will extend the processing time by at least 15-30 minutes. You'll need to take the test and someone needs to grade it.) 1. Sign in on the sign in sheet, and put down what you are here for. In my case, picking up a gun. If you haven't filled out any paperwork I'd put down paperwork to pick up gun or something to that effect to lessen confusion. In my case, I had to fill out paperwork, take the Firearms Safety Certification Test ($2 for a laminate copy). Then submit paperwork for a background check. This process varies (in my experience probably 1.5 hrs not including wait times). 2. The Firearms Safety Certification test is common sense (to me) and very straight-forward. Individual results may vary. 3. The background check is pretty standard but read through it carefully and make sure to fill out every line except M2 (the clerk will tell you too), it'll save them a lot of time and make the process smoother. 4. When signing papers, make sure to sign the right spot. This is the part where I messed up on and signed the "Sales" line instead of the "Transfer" line. I auto piloted at this point because I was super hungry and was still recovering from being sick. My bad! But please read before signing and ask (better to be annoying than to drag out the processing time). 5. They'll let you know when pick up the gun. Some advice: If you're picking up a gun and haven't filled out paperwork, slot at least 2 hours to do the paperwork process. Don't arrive 5 minutes before closing. They'll say 30 minutes but I think it's better to give them 1.5 hours to process. There's numerous factors: - Other customers - Paperwork processing - Murphy's law: What can go wrong will go wrong, better to be safe than sorry Overall, the store is clean, they have a number of guns in the store (I'm not really gun savvy yet). There were some missing items from the shelves but I think if you need basic things like magazines, sights, bags, containers, and gun cleaning supplies. They all should be fairly easy to find. The store is also under construction so expect loud noises like drilling and hammers. They have a bunch of different types of ammo behind the sales desk/counter. I know for sure they have 9MM since that was what I was looking to get. I'll update next week when I'm able to pick up the pistol about the pick up process. TLDR: Read the requirements of what to bring. Slot 2 hours for the paperwork process and wait times. Do not show up 5 minutes before closing (7PM). Sign the right boxes and of course read what you're signing. And sign up when you get there.

All the gentlemen when I walked in, were very kind, courteous, and respectful. Their company or…read morethis particular store is ran with such efficiency and kindness. I highly recommend this company For your further hunting, fishing or whatever you may have this need for military , police -academy, and for insecurity as well. God bless, Brenda Gilliam

Insight Shooting Range in Artesia was the complete opposite. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel welcomed, safe, and comfortable. Natalie especially was super helpful, educational, and easy to talk to. You can tell the staff here genuinely enjoy what they do and actually care about teaching people the right way instead of trying to intimidate anyone. The whole process is smooth and easy. Of course safety is taken seriously, which is exactly how it should be, but overall it's very easy to walk in, shoot, and get out without any stress. Their gun rentals are also very reasonable and affordable. Every time I come here it's always a breeze. However, my most recent visit has been frustrating. I dropped off a handgun at the end of November for three services and was quoted 6-8 weeks max. I had planned to attend a training in late February, so based on that timeline I expected to have my handgun back by the end of January. We are now approaching 15 weeks, and my firearm is still not ready. Can't even reschedule my class as the staff has been unable to give me a date each time I've called. I didn't want to leave a negative review because my previous experiences here have been great, but this delay is honestly unreasonable. If I would have known the turn around time I would have skipped on services. A friend of mine dropped off his handgun at a different shop for the same services and had it back within a month. I am paying full price for 2 of the 3 services so I might as well have just taken it to the other shop.. I would still consider purchasing items from this store, but unfortunately I will most likely not be returning here for gunsmithing services.

While he was deciding and waiting for his turn, the clerks behind the firearm counter were speaking very loudly about "day drinking" and hoping to clock out in time for happy hour later that evening. One individual in particular (bald/sparse hair with glasses, someone I had not seen there before) seemed especially vocal about it. Hearing employees openly joke and talk about being intoxicated while working behind a firearm counter immediately raised serious concerns for me. Firearms require a high level of responsibility, awareness, and professionalism, and hearing staff casually discuss drinking while actively assisting customers was alarming. What made it worse was how loud and proud the conversation was. They were laughing and hyping each other up about drinking while customers were standing right in front of them. Whether they were joking or not, it reflects extremely poor judgment and creates a very bad look for a business that sells and handles firearms. It gives the impression that safety and professionalism are not being taken seriously. In an environment where safety should be the absolute priority, hearing employees casually talk and laugh about drinking while surrounded by firearms is incredibly concerning and completely unprofessional.

I try to support small local businesses whenever I can, especially ones in my own neighborhood. In early January I stopped into Addax Tactical while I was out riding my e-bike with my dog. The staff were friendly, they were cool about my dog being there, and they even let me bring my bike inside. My first impression was positive. A little later I went back to order a rifle. I wanted a Henry Big Boy .357 Lever Action Rifle. They didn't have it in stock, and I was told it would take about two to three weeks to arrive because the SHOT Show convention was coming up. While doing the paperwork, I also decided to purchase a Ruger 10/22 so I could complete both purchases with a single background check. I left a deposit of about $1,200 toward roughly $2,000 total for the two rifles. Both rifles are very standard models that most gun stores typically have available or can obtain quickly. I could have easily purchased them elsewhere, but I made a deliberate choice to support a smaller shop in my neighborhood and was willing to wait the extra couple of weeks. Based on the timeline I was given, I expected the rifles to arrive by late January and to have them in my possession by mid-February after the required 10-day waiting period. That didn't happen. After three weeks I called to check on the order. Nothing had arrived yet. I waited another week and called again. Still nothing. The responses were always very casual, with little explanation other than that the rifles had been ordered. Around six weeks into the process, I was told the Ruger had arrived but they hadn't called because they assumed I wanted to pick up both rifles at the same time. I went in immediately and started the paperwork to take possession of the Ruger. During that visit I learned something that had never been mentioned before: the Henry rifle had not actually shipped yet, and the shop generally places firearm orders in batches rather than ordering individual rifles. This was the first time I had heard that, even though the original estimate had been two to three weeks. At that point I agreed to upgrade to the octagonal-barrel version of the Henry since I had always wanted that model anyway, and I was told the change would not affect the delivery timeline. After the 10-day waiting period I picked up the Ruger and again asked about the Henry. The answer was still that it had not arrived yet. By this point we were about eight weeks into the process, with no clear timeline. About a week later I called again and received the same answer. At that point I decided to cancel the Henry order and request a refund. I was told the refund would come from accounting and that I should expect a check in two to three weeks. After two weeks I called again and was told it could take up to 30 days. I eventually went to the shop in person to check on the refund. This time I was told I could not bring my bike or dog inside, even though I had been there several times before with both and it had never been an issue. Eventually I received a call saying the refund check had arrived. For the sake of transparency, I'm writing this from memory without the receipts directly in front of me, so the dollar amounts may be off by a few dollars either way, but the numbers below are very close to what was paid and refunded. When I picked up the check, the amount returned was about $370 out of the roughly $1,200 deposit I had paid. That means that after roughly 12 weeks, the final outcome of this transaction is that I effectively ended up with a $830 Ruger 10/22 -- a rifle that typically sells for a few hundred dollars at most gun shops. Even assuming some type of restocking fee, it's difficult to understand how that result makes sense, particularly for a rifle that, according to the shop, had not even shipped yet when I cancelled the order. I went into this purchase specifically because I wanted to support a small neighborhood business like Addax Tactical and was willing to wait longer than usual to do so. Unfortunately, after the delays, the lack of clear communication about how orders were handled, and the final refund outcome, the entire experience ended up being extremely frustrating. If you're considering ordering a firearm here, my advice would simply be to make sure you clearly understand the ordering process, timeline expectations, and refund policies before leaving a deposit. Posting this simply to document my experience so other customers know what to expect when placing a special order here.
