After 29 years on and of purchasing with Turner's Outdoorsman I made a purchase with Ammo Brother's in Cerritos two weeks ago. Reason: I paid cash for 2 handguns , 2 background, after the 10 days I was told they needed 30 more days more for background, at the end I was told by employees to just pay for another background again and see what happens? I even did a live scan $50. I the had to wait for my $1,000 to be sent via mail from corporate in Rialto and that took weeks, I felt like I was a 2nd Class Citizen. His customer service came across as uninterested and unhelpful -- when another customer asked about a gun, his entire response was simply, "It's over a 1000." Have to say the customer service has gone down. The staff at the front counter are always nice. Some of the firearms attendants need to work on the customer service. Came in to put a deposit on a new sig pistol and was given the runaround plus the attendant did not know what I was talking about. Instead I drove to bass pro in Irvine. I've been to this location and other Turner locations. I purchased my first gun from this place (Hellcat Pro). I just wish this place was more organized. They should designate five or more people for pickup, one person for ammo, and two to three people for window shoppers who aren't purchasing anything but have a million questions. The workers are pretty knowledgeable about the products, but at the same time, I'm not a professional regarding all the guns and accessories for them. With a few modifications, this place would be pretty cool, and it would decrease people's wait time. read more

I believe this was a disappointing ting experience. Although turners does attend customers at the front counter a lot quicker than maybe Bass Pro they amount of help they offered was disappointing. I had previously called about finding a railing for a gun I have and then they said they need the serial number to help me. Today I come by and Jesse department manager says he can't help. Just look it up online and that's it. So I feel bad now for my lack of knowledge. Also you can't restore your firearm card here even if you previously got it at another turners. Just retake the test. All I was able to do was buy ammo which even seemed like an inconvenience here. Store is bigger than Pasadena with plenty of room for parking. Just not the most helpful inside. read more

Don't come here for a FSC ( firearm safety certificate) unless you are planning on purchasing a weapon too. They will turn you away. I was told at the entrance by an employee today (AUG 24, 2020) that I was not welcomed nor allowed to take the test for FSC unless a had a specific model that I wanted to buy today. I was also told they didn't have any models available to show me because the "shelves where empty". I don't see why gun stores get to discriminate in this fashion. If they want new customers to buy from them; well how about you welcome us when we want to take the FSC test. Absolutely unacceptable behavior that is unconstitutional in nature denying me access to my 2nd amendment right to bear arms. I won't return to this store. Additionally there wasn't any people in the store at the time I arrived. It was only me. They simply did not want to allow me access to the exam because I was not purchasing at the moment. If u want to spend hours of your day waiting in line go to turners outdoorsman they don't have different lines for ammo and firearms so if your lucky enough to get what you need you lucked out.... If they are the only store closes to you some pointers call ahead and ask if they have the ammo in stock (ONLINE WEBSITE STATING THEY HAVE IT INSTOCK IS WRONG) or purchase your ammunition online so you can just do a background check in store when you pick up or lastly one trick you can do when you purchase something over the counter play stupid and let them know you need ammo, 9/10 times they let you cut the line. Fyi all over the counter products like ear pro cleaning products, attachments and skeet shooting accessories have a 80% markup and you can find them cheaper in Amazon. Just a FYI to save more money so your can purchase more ammo and training. read more

On Friday 12-31-21 I called this Turners and asked about doing a private party transfer on Sunday 1-2-22. I was informed that they are doing transfers and to get there at 10am when the store opens so it's not a long wait. Cool! On Sunday 1-2-22 the seller and I get to the Turners at 9:50am and waited in line. Then the "manager" says oh we're not doing ANY transfers today. Wait really?? So I informed the manager that I called on Friday and was told that they were doing transfers. His response: well that's not my issue, I'm telling you we're not doing transfers because I would have to do it and I'm not doing anything extra. Wow really.... So basically you don't want to do your job that you're getting paid to do. Turners customer service has obviously gone down the toilet. I called two other Turners locations and they informed me that they do transfers EVERYDAY and stop about two hours before they close. The seller didn't have much time to travel to another Turners and wait in line unfortunately for me. I HIGHLY recommend you go somewhere else for your firearms needs. I was rejected because my middle name wasn't on my FSC card which is ridiculous because in the 4 years that I had my FSC this had NEVER been an issues. They just made that shit up in the spot to reject me. Couldn't even apply for another because my current wasn't expired yet. What's crazy is that I went to a different gun store and they accepted my FSC just fine. Turner's can get a bad rep sometimes deservedly and I haven't given them that much business recently. In the old days I did buy quite a bit from them though. It's a bit too corporate with too much added extra paperwork but I can understand to a point why. However I did get a very fair deal yesterday and overall the service was good and no attitude. Special thanks to the cashier she did not complain and was efficient and friendly even though I asked her to process 4 separate gift cards in payment plus a final credit card payment. I'm fairly local so I may give more attention to coming here more often. I'm generally only interested in used guns and their used gun pricing can be very high but the occasional deal or special gun does come through. They for instance had new Colt Singe Action Army's in stock at this store like a year ago or so for $1800 that is almost unheard of. Very few are released by Colt for sale like that you generally have to make an order and wait though their custom shop for one. I've actually been coming to Turner's for about 35+ years. They must be doing something right as they keep expanding adding new locations. read more
