I was excited to try this place as it had just opened. They have a little kiosk on the side of the store that you can order on, you can also order ahead and pick up through the app Snackpass. My boyfriend ordered the mango pomelo sago, and he really enjoyed his drink. I do have to say this drink was pretty pricey, even for Bay Area pricing (~$7.50). I ordered the jasmine green milk tea and even though I really wanted to enjoy it - I did not. This drink had a weird tartness to it and it was not as milky as I would expect a milk tea to be. I do understand that I do have my specific milk tea preferences and maybe this is not the milk tea place for me. However, my boyfriend really enjoyed his drink so I would be down to give this place another chance... and try another drink. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. This Wanpo Tea is located in a strip plaza with a decent amount of parking. Interior-wise, it is not as aestetically pleasing as their other locations. Not much service and no seating here, just a to go kind of spot. I ordered my usual, the jasmine milk tea with boba. It had a decent creaminess to it with a strong tea taste to it. Our order was completed way earlier than expected, ~3 min rather than the expected 8-10 min. We got the Wanpo Milk Tea and the Mango Pomelo Sago: - Wanpo Milk Tea (70% sugar, light ice): strong and fragrant tea taste that is somehow uniquely different than other classic black milk teas I have tasted. I loved the option of mini pearls as a topping because my boyfriend and I have been looking for boba shops that have mini pearls. I would definitely recommend this. - Mango Pomelo Sago (light sugar): we selected the recommended light sugar level and it ended up being perfect. However, the drink description says "smoothie" but it was more of a "slush". The employee recommended we mix well before drinking but that was next to impossible because of the drink consistency. I think it would be great if they mix the drink for you beforehand then put it in the cup for you to enjoy. Wanpo Milk Tea : 4.5/5 Just a regular black milk tea, but it was one of the better milk tea I've had. Tea flavor is strong and the sweetness is perfect at 50%. I docked 0.5 points because they gave me too much boba . Taro Purple Rice : 4/5 I love how they have fresh taro , purple rice and taro ball in this drink . The taro ball was incredible . They accidentally gave us boba even though we did not order . Service was quick . We ordered on the Kios and had our drink ready in minutes. This is one of those Taiwan tea shop franchise and heard it opened up in the Millbrae area. I was curious about their Taiwan Alishan tea so went with a hot milk tea. First when I received the drink, it's a cup without the normal sip lid... the staff who gave it to me told me that's how Taiwan drinks it... I'm like what? Hot drink with a plastic straw? 2nd, they charge sales tax on my drink and that's inappropriate based on state of CA sales tax law... this is just a To-go shop without any sit down tables, nor chairs or hot food served the6re.. so why am I charged sales tax and the weirdest part.. they charged me over 10% tax.. City of Millbrae is definitely at 9.875% at most that I'm aware of.. totally incorrect business practice collecting sales tax for a small shop like that. read more

Super excited to see that they have open one closer to SF because driving down to south bay is rough Came here on opening week? and i had a uber eats voucher to use and placed a large order for pick up. Not only were they pretty speedy on this, but they got the order right while there were orders ahead. I did the instagram follow and got a free boba holder (not sure if they still do it but doesnt hurt to try!) ive been going to this shop almost every other weekend and the folks are pretty pleasant and fast when it comes to getting my order to me and out the door. The kiosk is used for ordering and i never had to place an order with the staff, which i prefer so i can take my time on what i want. Anticipated for this Millbrae store to open for months. We usually go to the Palo Alto one, but this is so much close to home. So I was very excited... Ordered 4 drinks today, all fruit teas, as that's what they're known for -- plum green tea, wintermelon lemonade, smoked plum tea, aiyu jelly lemon tea (a bit watered down). The teas are ok, but the boba is terrible. It's so slimy. They should just re-make them and throw away this batch. Probably the worst boba I've had. Very disappointed. read more

They could have gotten 5 stars if their Green Plum Green Tea is "right" at this location. One of my all time favorite from Wanpo is their plum green tea. However, that very unique drink from this Wanpo location is completely off. I wonder if they use a different recipe compared to the ones in Palo Alto and Cupertino. It tastes like lemon tea. Pretty often when I go somewhere to get milk tea, I wish it was stronger in tea flavor. Wanpo definitely gave what I was looking for. I got a brown sugar milk tea, and a complimentary red bean jelly milk tea that was also pretty good. Bf got a mango pomelo sago. Be aware that in the description it says mango SMOOTHIE and pomelo, which means it's gonna be more slush like which will make the sago hard. We enjoy the sago texture so we prefer the ones that do the fruit, juice and coconut milk so we can enjoy the sago. A little bummer but that was our own fault. For sago lovers, you've been warned.
