This was the last stop on a wine tasting day and was a lovely way to cap off our trip. It's definitely way more of a restaurant than a tasting room, but they were okay with us just doing wine. We did end up splitting a Cesar salad for food and it was completely average, don't remember it well. I guess that's a good thing since it was exactly what I expected. The wine tasting comes in a tower so you can drink at your own pace, which is great! This allowed us to drink at our own speeds and we were a little tired of hearing about wine after many other stops, so it was great to have an independent experience. It's lovely here! We didn't arrive with reservations and it seemed like all the customers that did this were seated outside. Which would be fine, except their outdoor seating is extremely dirty and due to the amount of trees around, covered in pollen. So it almost felt like second class or a punishment. I slapped the chair cushion and it was like it had never been dusted before. Not that I expect the outdoor seating to be clean at all times, I would expect a higher end place like this that features wine on their menu to make an effort to keep things tidy for all guests. The food itself, was actually pretty good. The deep fried artichoke seriously missed the mark in seasoning and presentation (maybe have the sauce on the side to dip?) but the steak and short ribs were amazingly tasty. Great flavors. We also did a wine flight and the wines were very good as well. One of the glasses still had lipstick on it unfortunately. A couple of the glasses looked rushed to clean. It was replaced and all was well. But still.. attention to details here seems to be an issue. If you come here, make a reservation. Sit inside. Might have a better experience. The food was absolutely amazing! Johnathon, our server, was great attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. The manager and the entire management team were so kind and sweet, which made the experience even better. The drinks were very nice, and the homemade raspberry cider was incredible definitely a must-try. The vibe is good, very cozy and welcoming. There's plenty of parking, and the space is very roomy. The bathrooms were clean, which I always appreciate. The free bread was delicious, and dessert was just as nice such a perfect way to end the meal. Highly recommend! read more

We made reservations for 9 people (7 adults, 2 kids) for dinner on Father's Day at 6:45pm. When we arrived to check in for our reservation we were informed that we were sitting outside, even after specifically asking for indoor dining when we placed the reservation. We then were taken to our table on the patio and they had it set for only 6 people. I then had to help the host problem solve and help her carry another table over so there was enough space for our party. She then had to come and wipe the table as it was dirty. By the time we got seated and situated it was past 7pm. Our server comes over to ask for drink order, we ordered drinks and also asked for water. The water came almost immediately and it was warm water in warm glass jars, when we asked for ice for our waters it took 3 people to finally get some and it was delivered in a big metal bucket with no scoop... very strange. server comes back and informs us that 3 of the drinks we ordered we not available and that they had just ran out of Rainier.. okay no biggie, we changed our order and at this time ordered appetizers. Brussels sprouts and artichoke hearts, nothing to write home about. The best part of it all was the garlic aioli on the Brussels sprouts. We were served appetizers and done with them before our server even came back to take our order. We place our dinner order and wait... wait... and wait some more. It was 8:40 before we were served our food, waited over an hour. At 8:30 our waitress came out to the table playing and twisting her hair saying "I just saw your food coming up in the window it'll be right out", 10 min later it hit the table and everything but one dish was ice cold. My medium steak was well done, burger was almost inedible it was so cold and chewy. Steak skewers were so dry and cold. It was actually the biggest disappointment.. we ended up eating the food as we were so hungry, and the waitress never came back to check or ask how things tasted.. we will not be returning. We paid the bill and unfortunately were hit with the 20% gratuity as it was a party over 8, although 2 of the guests were under 2yrs old.. everybody in our party left there in disbelief, we couldn't believe how awful our experience was. read more

Looked forward to a great lunch with my wife and daughter. Wow we were so disappointed the calamari was cheap tavern style rings cooked in not so clean oil. Only ones and took so long to get our food. For the sake of brevity was so -not good. The lunch menu is terrible -even a light pasta or a pasta salad. We expected a first class lunch but missed the mark. Location has the feel of just tired of being in business-and guess they need new management that has a better vision of quality. We visited twice this past week while on one of many Chelan stays of the year. Thursday we came in the afternoon during happy hour, sat outside so the kiddos could play. Our waiter was great, he was friendly and made sure our glasses were never empty unless we wanted them that way. We had such a great experience we came back Saturday. We came in around 1pm, again to sit outside so the kiddos could play and we could eat and drink. An older women (assuming manager) let us know that small bites would not be available until 2pm, which was fine as we had planned to taste and enjoy each others company. We pulled some chairs together on the lawn and got the kids set up. Another younger lady came out with menus and we ordered some tastings. Service and wait time on theses were decent so no real complaints. Around 2 she came back out for food orders. We ordered 2 orders of brussel sprouts, 2 orders of pretzels and the fire prawns. The brussel sprouts looked amazing but were barely warm in the middle, the pretzels looked like something from the local grocery stores freezer section... and once cooled turned hard as stone. The prawns while warm in temperature could have been hotter but were not overdone, flavor was good but the presentation was lacking. We sent back the brussel sprouts for refire, the manager was clearly annoyed by our request and pretty sure they put them in the microwave, we had a few bites and gave up. The live music was enjoyable on the patio, the artist was super nice and both the kids and us enjoyed her collection of covers. At check out we were charged wrong, not only did they not adjust for any of the poorly cooked food they over charged. When we brought it to their attention as we were making our way out they simply said "Oh sorry about that" and did not offer to fix the error in any way or simply adjust the mistake. I'd go back for a happy hour glass of wine but nothing more, and only if the male waiter is working as he definitely was the shining star on the wait staff team. read more

Wapato Point is a staple dining destination when we visit Lake Chelan. The food is always good and there's a great variety of wine to pair with any meal. My husband appreciates the stocked bar when he needs a break from wine tasting. The fried chicken has always been our favorite. Never had a bad meal here. read more

We have always loved the chicken piccata so we were excited to try the chicken piccata burger. It was a huge disappointment. There was nothing remotely close to piccata other than it had chicken on it. My husband had the burger and said it was very dry and overcooked. My family and I have been a patrons of Wapato Point Cellars for the last 7+ years. It was always been the favorite meal for my family during our stay in Manson... until this year. We have always made it a point to visit (at least) the Friday we were in town, for their EPIC fried chicken dinner. (Most years we dined at least 2 nights during our 7 day stay). This year we arrived on a Friday and knew we needed to be at the restaurant by 5pm. (In years past, they started dinner service at 5pm and DID NOT accept reservations if you weren't a wine member.) This year we arrived on a Friday at 5:15pm. They asked if we had a reservation. We said we weren't wine members so we hadn't made one. They hemmed and hawed throwing times around, and finally came to an availability of a table at 6:30pm. Let me paint the picture of the state of the restaurant when we arrived... it was a GHOST TOWN. We were baffled when they said they didn't have space because they were "booked". There were NO people waiting when we arrived, and the restaurant only had about 5 tables occupied. While I do understand holding tables for wine members, I don't understand how they couldn't accommodate a party of 4 when the restaurant was empty! I understand that policies change, but I also think they should have some flexibility for regular customers that are used to the old policy of NO RESERVATIONS, especially when the place is clearly NOT full! When I mentioned we came at 5pm specifically to get the chicken dinner and were concerned about missing out, they said that they didn't offer the Friday Chicken special anymore. That was very disappointing. The regulars would tell us that people would come from Wenatchee for the chicken dinner, so clearly it was a hit! Despite this hiccup, we still decided to make a reservation for Wednesday dinner because we always had such a great experience here. We came back Wednesday for dinner (6pm reservation). My father in law ordered a Chardonnay. The server came back and said they were OUT of Chardonnay. I'm sorry is this a winery?? How are you out of a basic Chardonnay ???!!!! I'm convinced it's because we weren't members.... I digress. He ordered a margarita, which my husband and father in law both raved about in years past. They both said the margaritas were weak and not good. They didn't include the fruits muddled in like they used to. Wapato Cellars used to be top notch in service, offering fresh bread as a (free) appetizer. Another thing of the past. Want water? Good luck. Our water glasses went unfilled throughout our meal. Another thing they used to excel in, water servers constantly filling your glasses. Not anymore. Disappointment after disappointment. Dinner: My father in law ordered a steak. Instead of mashed potatoes he asked for a loaded baked potato. (Keep in mind this plate was around $49). The sever said the baked potato would be a $5 up-charge. I'm sorry .... whatttttt??! When the food came, he received a plain baked potato, not even cut, with NO extras. He had to ask for the "loaded" fixings. Not sure how a baked potato with sour cream, chives and bacon bits is $5 more than mashed potatoes... but again, I digress. My husband and I ordered the chicken special (NOT any thing like the old one!!). Portion was small and the chicken was over flavored with maple glaze, overpowering the potatoes underneath. Service was lacking, food was lacking, and overall was NOT the 5 star experience we are used to having at Wapato Cellars. Disappointment after disappointment. I doubt we will return. read more

Ambiance: For supposedly being a fancy restaurant, this place is extremely mediocre. First of all, the eastern side of Washington is extremely hot in the summer time, this place air conditioning is non existent. It feels very muggy inside. Drinks: They are known for their wine. Which I'm not going to comment too much on it since I don't have too much experience on wine. I just had a red blend which I thought it was good. They also do flights of wine too. Not a bad spot for that. Food: The food is definitely overrated and overpriced. We got the fire shrimp, which came in 4 pieces, nothing spectacular. We also got the ribeye and filet mignon, and that was rough. Yes, I meant the meat. I got my ribeye medium rare, and it came out medium well. Messing up the steak in a fancy restaurant is a red flag. Service: It was okay, nothing special. The bartender and the waitress were both nice and got everything correct. One of our friend dropped their togo order on the ground and they were nice to make another for them. That earned them another star. read more

We had a group of 8 people, ordered a couple apps, lots of wine, some cocktails, and dinner. - Seafood Skillet Dip - this is a pretty small portion but is still enough to share and comes with bread - Steamer Clams - also comes with bread. yummy sauce for dipping - Spinach Salad - the half portion alone was plenty big and surprisingly filling (full of bacon, cheese, nuts, eggs) - Burger - good burger! Fully loaded. Loved the big thick slices of fresh tomato on here. The bar was a bit backed up so our drinks took a while, but overall we had a great time and the waitress was really friendly. Unfortunately they were out of the country fried chicken which I really wanted to try, but I recommend showing up early to increase your chances :) The fried chicken at $24 is much more affordable than their crispy chicken which is in the $30s. read more

Won't go back. I've been coming here for years, but it just keeps getting worse, as do my expectations of the place. Our waitress was super nice and clearly trying her best, but it is grossly overpriced, understaffed, and painfully slow. On top of that, they added a mandatory 20% gratuity for our party of 8--even though the food order was wrong (brought the wrong steak, also cooked wrong), didn't bring the things we asked for (A1 sauce to help make steak taste better), and half our group were kids who the waitress didn't even have to talk to. Drinks were just meh. IMO, if you are going to charge the rates you charge, you better back it up with quality food and correct orders. Really disappointing overall as this is a nice, convenient restaurant we would love to keep coming to on our annual Chelan trip. read more

If you're looking for delicious food, this winery happily delivers! I have to say that the service was slow, but we did like the food. Starter was a special featuring Octopus - delicious light spicy flavor and perfectly cooked! I tried the Winemakers Burger and hubby had the Halibut. The burger was delicious and we happily pronounced this amongst the best halibut we've ever had! And that coming from being seafood lovers who catch and cook our own on a regular basis. Topped it off with a Lemon Mascarpone Cake which was moist but lemony and light. Delicious meal, but do need a little more attentive service. Thank you! read more

We were a party of 7. We had reservations and got seated right away. The drinks were good. It a bit expensive. My husband and I split a rib eye steak. I had a cocktail as did my husband. He had a wedge salad and I had a small dinner salad. The price of our meal was --148.00. For what we got I don't think it was a good value. My steak had some much fat on it only to eat about 1/4 of it. When I said something to the waiter he said he would see what he could do for me. When the bill came it was not adjusted. I even ordered a dessert thinking it may be completely. There was no adjustment to our bill. read more

Great spot for Wapato Point guests to grab dinner. There was even live music the night we were there. We sat outside and enjoy the summer weather with plenty of umbrellas for shade. The best part was the outdoor space with a slide and swings which gave our kids the chance to burn some energy while the adults ate and enjoyed their wine. Started our visit with being greeted by the handsome pups, Willie and Leo. Inside the winery was spacious, clean, and welcoming with an outstanding view of the lake and surrounding hills. Tiffany served us from the $19 Experience tasting menu. Some of the selections were quite tasty and Tiffany even added a couple of additional tastes that led us to buying a bottle that wasn't on the original tasting list. The wine bottle prices ranged from the high $30s to $70s. Tiffany was professional and friendly and even gave us recommendations for wines to try at another winery. The view was gorgeous and we couldn't be more pleased with the whole experience. Plus the lovely branded glass is a gift when you get the tasting package. So happy we landed here on our first night at Chelan. Thank you to Tiffany for the great service. Highly recommended stop while you're in Chelan (located in the Wapato Point area). read more

Went here for dinner on the 4th of July and it exceeded our expectations! Consistent and thoughtful customer service, live music on the patio, and the most incredible chicken piccata I've had EVER. Great quantity of chicken, mashed potatoes and string beans, delicious butter and caper sauce and crispy breading. I wish I had time to go back for another meal there because I would get the same thing. Wonderful wine pairings as well. read more

Baked chicken with root veggies was great. Juicy chicken, roasted skin was good. Great dessert, cheesecake was good. Good portions. We did not leave hungry. Atmosphere nice, sat on patio. Five stars for the cider, four stars for the service, three stars for the wine, and 3 1/2 for the food. It was a busy Sat and we were happy to get a table. Had the Apple Pie Cider which was terrific - drank like liquid pie. Cabernet was just average. I had the Chicken Marsala - tasty, and my Missus had the prawn and rice. It was comforting but more like good wedding banquet food, which was fitting as the large wedding party nearby seemed quite content. It's been years since I've been to Wapato Point Cellars. While I thought the dining experience was 5-star last time, this visit was less than great. The highchair offered was dirty, with food still caked on various parts of it. The dining chairs were also dirty, with visible crumbs and stains. My husband's steak was cooked strangely--he asked for "medium rare" and parts of the steak were cooked to medium-well with the middle basically seared on the outside and raw on the inside! He didn't eat at least 30% of it. The scallops appetizer left sand in my mouth. read more

We ate here last Tues for my sons birthday and the service was terrible. The server was nice enough but never cleared any dishes or refills on water we had a party of 9 it would have been nice to clear plates out of the way. The food was mediocre at best and very expensive. I ordered an entree Caesar salad that was the same as my sons side Caesar salad. When I asked if it was the entree size she said yes we ran out of the other plates.... We go to Wapato every summer and definitely won't be going back there next summer. So disappointed read more

It showed when she got our party name wrong which made us have to wait 10+ more minutes standing around until she finally realized there was no one named Sky (our party's name was under Scott). The waiter was great, easygoing and delivered bad news flawlessly. The bad news was that they were out of a few dishes for the night which had included the fried chicken. I'm trying to be nice here. We were told 15-20 minutes at first. Ended up waiting about 45 minutes for a family of 5. (plenty of room and could have seated us...) We've been here before and honestly this time around we were going to become wine club members because the first time was so good! This time. "Meh" comes to mind. The fire prawns before we're awesome! Today the prawns were mushy and didn't taste right. The cheese platter was pretty good(highlight of the food I ate at least). Cheese specifically. I ordered the rib eye steak. I had to SEASON the heck out of it. some of the fat was still a bit raw(i ordered medium). Ultimately needed massive salt. I've never had to season a steak that I've ordered. My wife got a spinach salad with shrimp and 90% of it remains. My daughter got the bacon cheese burger and she complained about it being chewy. How you make a chewy burger is beside me. So one bite taken out of it. Yay. A burger I will have to pay for. My little girls ordered grill cheese sandwiches. Hard to mess that up. The macallen 12 year for me was the bright side of this trip. Probably will cost me 75 dollars. Who knows. Still sitting at the table at the restaurant writing this as we are waiting for our waiter to come back. No wine club membership for us.
