Keep in mind that the restaurant is no longer, "The Wapiti" it is actually Birdies! The food menu is accurate though as well as the location. They views from this location are gorgeous and the food is really solid. This recent visit they were out of the pimento cheese but were able to quickly work with us to find a substitute. The fries are hand cut and the house made potato chips are awesome. The schnitzel is a thicker cut of pork than traditionally served. However, it is juicy and the sandwich can easily feed two people. When ordering a burger know they may come out a little rare but if an easy fix to request it medium. The staff are friendly and very educated on the selections. If you are here to golf just let your server know your tee time so they can work with you on timing. As a final note, they have some beautiful local artists that offer prints for sale! read more

My husband and I arrived at 8:05. After waiting 20 min and being skipped over to be seated, were brought to a nice river side table. We don't mind waiting for good service and food. However another 15 minutes before server greets us. Says will return with water, before he could run off we said we were ready to order so he took the order and brought two child sized water glasses, this is now 8:40. At 9:00pm says he will check on the order, and asked if we wanted more water, we said yes. 10 minutes later still no refills, and server brings the food. We asked for to go boxes and our check, which he brought right away. We ordered fish tacos which were great, and a burger plate. No drinks, came to $36.00 (without tip). Burger was pitiful, comparable size and quality of a McDonalds burger. Will not return or recommend. read more

Anytime we come to Estes our first stop is the Wapiti! The elk chili is fantastic and is a must have every time. Awesome beer list and overall great place to have a quick lunch or nice dinner. Wes is a great server, super attentive! Can't wait till next trip! read more

Hey guys! This is Becky and I live on the course. I was reading through the recent "Covid" reviews and thought you may need some positive feedback. First I want to say that your staff is awesome! We have always had excellent service every time we came in and never had a bad meal. We appreciate the mask requirement along with the sterile tables. There will always be unhappy customers in this world and unfortunately we will be seeing more of them until we get through this pandemic. Tempers are short and patience is thin - especially with the less educated. But that does not give them the right to be jerks! Terrible food and service, if I could give it 0 stars I would Me and my friends came here for lunch a couple days ago, we ordered Colorado nachos as an appetizer, they looked and tasted as if they're microwaved! Pulled pork was tough, jalepenos looked old, and the cheese was dry and hard. My burger was very disappointing as well, when I got it it looked like the burger has been sitting under the heating lamp for a good while before it was finally served. Very disappointing for the cost of food here. Our service wasn't great either, our server never checked on us regularly and never came back after serving our food until after we've eaten to hand us our check, so I couldn't get her to remake my dried up burger. Overall an extremely disappointing visit, me and my friends will not be returning until the food quality and service improves. read more

The worst dining experience I've had since moving to Colorado. I can tell you a few positives first. Andrew was our server and although it was his first day on his own, he was excellent. Attentive and engaging, he tried his best to help make dinner as best as possible. He went to the kitchen for answers to questions that he did not know and went the extra mile without hesitation. Next, the view really is terrific. One that would be hard to beat in any venue. For the kitchen- Poorly run, disorganized and out of their league would be the best way to describe it. The menu boasted of their trout being the best in Colorado. A reach to say the least. This was typical Sysco frozen trout that was basically dusted with a seasoning and then just broiled. Nothing special at all. The sides- mashed potato with jalapeño was interesting but poorly executed. On the plate in a tiny bowl and in no way matched the $17.99 price for the entree. My wife ordered the same with a rice side. The rice was supposed to be tossed with corn and cranberries and other flavoring elements. It was basically microwave rice with hardly any seasoning at all. The salad arrived at the table wilted. I can say that the bartender was highly apologetic when we pointed out all of these misses. So there was some ownership of the lack kitchen ability. I will not go back and would recommend only going for a beer and the view. read more

It's Father's Day. We just got done golfing 18 holes, and wanted a quick snack before heading home. We were seated by the hostess. After waiting 10 minutes without anyone coming to our table to take our order, I went inside to inquire about a server. I was told they were "rotating servers," and then challenged about whether we were seated by a hostess or not. After that, it still took another 7 minutes before our actual server came to the table to ask if we were ready to get started with drinks. Having had plenty of time to decide, we were ready to order everything: a cocktail, a beer, and two appetizers. The drinks took another 10 minutes. We sat and waited for another 25-30 minutes without word on where our food was. Finally, after 40 minutes, our server finally told us our food would take "longer than normal," because there was a fire in the kitchen, but would be out in 5 minutes. Then another 5 minutes later, she came to tell us that our dishes could not be prepared. Relatively annoyed, and needing to move on at this point we said, "just cancel our food order." She still charged us for our drinks, which after all of that was a slap in the face. Nothing so much as an apology for us sitting there for almost an hour with virtually no customer service. I've worked as a server for several years. We love playing this course, but the food and beverage manager should probably be replaced as soon as possible. read more

We picked this place do to reviews. The views are beautiful, but service was horrible. We were seated with no menus, took our waitress her sweet time bringing the drinks. Then had to ask for menus, then wave down waitress to say we were ready to order. She didn't then says it will be 20 minute wait because they just got order for a 15 top. Asked if this is to start our food, or get our order, say will have to ask. Comes back with no answer. Wtf. Really left with no food, who the heck can't keep up with a 15 top. read more

This is the best view in town! Located at the Mariana Butte golf course, the restaurant has some of the best food in town and everything on the menu is fantastic. The manager Brian and the formally trained executive chef Bill always make you feel welcome. Its a little out of the way if you dont live in the neighborhood but well worth the trip up there. In the warmer months make sure to sit out on the patio and watch the sunset over the Rocky Mountains while enjoying your dinner. Try to come on Wednesday nights as they have 'wind down Wednesdays' where you can get half off pitchers of Grimm Brothers beer (a local brewery). My favorite there is the Cowboy Ciao which is a spicy pasta carbonara type dish but in all honesty Ive yet to have anything on the menu that wasnt fantastic! read more

This is fairly close to our home, so we go once in a while. Typically when a coupon in the mail reminds us - I think since it is off the beaten path, many tend not to think of it when considering dining options. I was a bit concerned a couple of months ago when we got a coupon as part of a larger mailer that focused on their "shamless" self promotion. It seems they fixed that and changed coupon promo companies to continue their "shameless" self promo campaign. Their ongoing efforts on this front - and few folks there when we visited - seems to suggest that they continue to try hard but are not seeing a lot of results when it comes to bringing in dining patrons. Our coupon this past Friday offered $5 off, and another $5 off if you joined their dining promotions program. The coupon and a table tent boasted they'd given away a lot of value to patrons. That's fine, but who needs another membership card or key-tag, and the approach has a hint of desperation to it. Our waitress was very attentive, and helpful when it came to food and beer selections, and getting signed up for their dining program. She mentioned - and they had a number of posters and other material around - that they had recently done a beer pairing dinner with Loveland Aleworks, so had more options of their beers available than they might normally. I chose the "whole" trout, which was quite good, though it was just a trout filet. I had the side salad, fresh and tasty - the honey balsamic dressing was good but pretty thick and hard to distribute on the salad. I chose the baked potato side, figured it would help bulk up a lighter meal of fish and salad. It was big and fluffy, with generous dollops of butter and sour cream. My wife chose the half rack of ribs. It came with cole slaw and pretty good onion rings. It was a big portion, but parts of it were fatty, and parts were a bit dry. She took a good bit of it home, and I at them the next day. Not bad, nothing to write home about - there seemed to be a bit too much smoke flavoring for my tastes. The sauce was tangy and tasty. I think one of their struggles, beyond being a little out of the way and not top-of-mind, is an identity crisis. They need to be a 19th hole for the golf course, which leads them to be a bit of a sports bar, and they also want to bring in local patrons for fine dining during times when there are not a lot of golfers. That can be challenging. I also expect, given the wide variety on the menu, and the fact that there were just a few patrons, and we ended our meal as the only ones in the place, that they may have trouble keeping the kitchen fully stocked during slow times of the year with fresh ingredients - and that they may need to resort to non-fresh options to keep everything on hand year-round. I don't know, and just suspect that. As others have commented here, the scenery is nice, and when the weather is good, there are options for patio dining. Not a bad change of pace for those looking for a new option. read more

Stopped in after golf - a disaster. One of the members of our party was served a salad with living things still moving in it. In their haste to provide a replacement burger ..... Patty came out seared on outside and raw in the middle. To keep our friend company while they recooked the burger, we ordered another round of beer. Unfortunately half the table was told they were out of their beer of choice. Way over priced for the quality of food and to say their weekend breakfast menu is limited is being kind - Even the old snack bar in the trailer had breakfast options for golfers. These scumbags really pissed me off today after I had a very nice round of hitting the links. I went into the clubhouse to buy a gatorade after perhaps the best round of golf of my life and I don't like to throw around the B word but the woman behind the counter was a BITCH! I had my shirt up over my face because I forgot a mask and it wasn't good enough for her so she very condescendingly told me she'd give me a mask which I accepted. Then when I went to pay for my items I handed her my card and she looked at me like I had a dick on my forehead, she said "you're going to try to hand me that card with your bare hands after you just touched your face?!" so I said fuck this stupid shit and just walked out. I'm sick and tired of this bullshit fake ass covid19 hype that most businesses are buying into, if I have to I will wear a mask but not when you're gonna be a bitch to me and treat me like a piece of shit in the clubhouse of a golf course. This place has the most incredible views of the foothills. The food is decently priced and good selection and quality. The dining room is nice with lots of windows, but when the weather is nice sit out on the patio and soak in the great views. The wait staff are friendly, but it seems like everytime we go we get a new server who doesnt have the menu down yet, but are eager to please. Will be back this summer for some patio time. read more

Tuff, we would love to love them, but 50% of the time we have gone there they are out of the item we order.Why have a menu when you don't have the items? Just wanted a nice piece of beef, the only one was "sold out". Six out of 10 times that is what we find, they don't have whats on the menu. I known it's tuff in Covid times, but WTF have inventory on your menu items. If you just want to be a burger bar, then open up a Wendy's and don't act like you embrace "fine or decent" dining. Your menue is so limited, your in a high end neighborhood, act like it! No fish, one good beef ( not available), just bar , golf course food???? Great wait staff, why not support your floor? I've eaten here a bunch because its close and the views are hands down the best of any in Loveland. I pretty much order just one thing here, the Cowboy Ciao. It is consistently good, loaded with flavor and unique to Wapiti. You can't get it anywhere else. Every now and then I try something else from the menu and most of the time its just ok. The other quibble I have is the service is quite inconsistent. Some times its really great and other times its hard to get any service at all. Because of the views its worth going to even if its just to have a few cocktails on the patio looking out at the mountains. read more

I downloaded yelp, made an account, and missed a call from my mom just to tell you how horrible this place is. The Colorado nachos are just shredded cheese microwaved on chips with canned jalapeños and pulled poor dryer than the Sahara desert. My girlfriend ordered the salmon pasta. The chef who cooked them must have been blind and have no sense of taste cause they were overcooked by about a half hour. The service was sub par. Took 15 mins for us to be greeted by our waitress which she messed up the drink order on two separate occasions bringing normal tea not sweetened. If I could give a lower rating I would. read more

I googled "find closest pub to me" after spending a day in the mountains. We were dumbfounded to be at a golf course overlooking the greens! Lol! We gave them a try and were happily surprised. After having read some negative reviews, we were hesitant to dine at Wapiti Pub. But, we had never had any bad experiences, so decided to give the pub a chance and see for ourselves. We were pleased with the service and food. We are fans of cubano sandwiches and my husband decided to try the cubano while I had the grilled salmon with rice and it was excellent. Went to this restaurant for the first time last night. The wait staff was inexperienced, did not check back for drink refills. My husband had the Colorado Cubana Sandwich and I had the Soup and Sandwich Combo. We both thought our meals were satisfactory until my husband got sick with food poisoning. He was up all night emptying his stomach. I suspect it was the pork in his sandwich that was bad. Needless to say, we will not attempt this restaurant again. read more

Scenery is NICE up here.... nestled on top of a small hill overlooking a golf course & a view of the Rockies. Don't get turned off by the fact that it's a "country club." you can still roll up in jeans, sweats or a hoodie. it IS a bar. the burgers are good. they have plenty of beer on tap that they switch out often. i decided to go "healthy" & tried the grilled shrimp with a side salad the last time we went. very good. definitely recommending this place. read more
