Upon entering the store my brother spoke to Hunter, and I requested to use the restroom. Abruptly, he stated they didn't have one. My mom and I left the store and went to AVRA, where they greeted me and allowed me to use their lavatory without explanation. Needless to say, a couple came in after I left requested to use the restroom and was directed upstairs. Stopped in to try on a few pairs of sunglasses and was really impressed by their COVID measures (and some of the new styles). You can try on whatever you like, you just have to place the glasses in a tray for disinfection afterwards. There were enough people working that they were able to quickly replace any of the tried on and discarded ones. I purchased two pairs of sunglasses and got both of them adjusted (they have a machine that they use to warm the plastic so it can be reshaped to better fit your head/ears.) was very happy with the selection and my new purchases! read more

We went for prescription lenses. The staff on 6th Avenue store was not knowledgeable about insurance and said they don't take my insurance. But the Long Island store said, they accept the insurance and made the glasses. Glasses received on time but with wrong prescription. Sent back for correction. Got them back and glasses are scratched. Also , no cleaning cloth etc in the package. Costco does a much better job. read more

Awful experience. First when you enter, nobody seems interested in helping and they just stand around in groups chatting. But to make matters worse, staff is INCOMPETENT. My father had a visit with the doctor there and we decided to get glasses. Asked the staff if the frames we picked were suitable for the prescription, and the girl said they are "perfect". Fast forward 10 days of waiting, we pick up the glasses at another WP location (we had asked that they be shipped there), and it turns out those frames do not work for his progressive prescription. The other team agreed and said a different shape is needed. So now after waiting 10 days, we have to wait another 10 days for the new glasses to be ready. Do yourself a favor and skip this location (or WP altogether). read more

They literally used the wrong prescription to make my glasses. The staff in the store is unprofessional. It took THREE PEOPLE OVER AN HOUR to process my two orders for glasses after having to correct my prescriptions which were also not accurate. Then after all that they offered to expedite my glasses for free-- 4-6 days versus 7-10 days. Wow-- that's the best they could do? I'll never go here again. read more

I was using my glasses almost for 4 years. I wanted something different an unique than I decided to go Warby Parker. They have a lot of options and very nice employees they have. All off them very helpful and so kind. I decided to get Percy wide and it's perfect frame an I really loved it. However, I did not like about how heavy the lenses. I asked about make my lenses ultra thinner they said it will be thinner but, it's not thin enough and so heavy. Now, I put my old pairs back and I can't enjoy with my new pair of glasses. read more

Beware if you are planning to come to Warby Parker and use insurance. BTW discounts do not apply if you are using insurance (such as 15% of first order of contacts). I recently switched from VSP to UHC vision and Warby Parker was in network. I thought, hey this should be easy! NOT!! If you plan to use insurance make sure you know exactly what is covered. The WP associates think they know, which is we are only in network for UHC through Spectera and contact lens exams are not covered. I was charged for a contact lens exam when I was only supposed to pay the co-pay. This happened despite them validating my insurance when I confirmed the appointment. I don't understand why WP system would allow a separate charge for an exam that is covered by insurance and be able to put through my eye glass exam and contact lens purchase through insurance. I don't know if this was worth going out of my way to find insurance where WP is in network. read more

I loved my experience here. I love that Warby Parker let's you save time by filling out all patient info from home. They also texted the day before to confirm my insurance coverage which I appreciate (vision versus medical insurance has gotten more complicated in my opinion). The doctor did a thorough exam, and asked for my consent before dilating my pupils. She also managed time well so I was able to look at frames while waiting for the eye drops to take effect. The folks downstairs were soooo helpful in helping me find a pair that I liked and their online system is convenient - I got my Rx and receipt immediately and they were able to pull up all my patient history and info to make checking out a breeze. Warby Parker is on the pricier side but if you have the funds, I highly recommend! read more

What do you do when you need new glasses? Go to Warby Parker of course. Conveniently, WP just opened up a Rockefeller Center store, so I didn't have far to walk from work. The new store is really nice, but of course much smaller than their stores downtown. The selection is good and the staff is friendly. I've been in WPs downtown and in NOLA as well where the staff was far from friendly/helpful, but the Roc Center store couldn't have been a better experience. The optometrist saw me right away even though I was well early for my appointment, the staff helped me pick out a pair of new glasses thoughtfully, and the entire process to purchase was smooth and fast. I got my glasses quickly and couldn't be happier. Thankfully, WP also makes it super easy to get reimbursed by insurance. That goes a long way in making me a repeat customer. read more

I should have read the reviews before making my eye exam appointment. I usually visit the Greene Street store which is EXCELLENT. I was in this area on Sunday so I booked my exam here. I booked a comprehensive eye exam. I received an email on Sat confirming my up coming comprehensive eye exam. I received a comprehensive eye exam. I picked our the frame I wanted. I gave the person who checked me out my credit card. I left. I received an email on Monday stated I missed my "checkout for the eye exam and contact lens fitting" and my order has been put on hold until they receive the $120 payment for "checkout for Comprehensive Eye Exam and Contact Lens Fitting." Remember I booked a comprehensive eye exam? I got comprehensive eye exam. I gave the staff my credit card. Hmm. I checked my email and I did received an email confirmation for $145 for my frame and lenses. Why didn't they charge me for my eye exam? No clue. I called the toll free number provided in the email. I was told they will checked with the store. I received a call later that afternoon at 5:39 pm. I was at a meeting and could not pick up. A voicemail was left stating that I received a comprehensive eye exam and contact lens fitting, and I need to call and give them my credit card information. At 6 pm I received an email - "So sorry for the miscommunication. It looks like your original appointment was marked for both exam types, but we see that you only received a comprehensive eye exam yesterday. We will just need to collect the $75 fee, and then we can get things rolling for you!" I have the emails from this location (from: help+rockefellercenter@warbyparker.com) stating, as above, confirming my comprehensive eye exam. One of the emails clearly stated "Our eye exams cost $75 with or without dilation." All I can say is this location is a hot mess - caused me unnecessary stress and wasted my time having to deal with their mistakes. I will travel to Greene Street in the future. read more

This Warby Parker location is right across the street from Radio City Music Hall on 50th and 6th Avenue. The displays of glasses are along two separate walls and some of the eyeglasses repeat on both walls, making it convenient to find the pairs that you want to try out. One of the best things to do is to go to the website, then make a list of those you want to try when you get to the store. I went at around 1:30 p.m. on a weekday afternoon. It was busy, but this location is well staffed. I didn't have a problem getting someone to take my order. They took my prescription, entered all my delivery information and email into the system and gave me the option of picking up in-store or deliver to home which is free. The entire process took less than 10 minutes. I took more time just trying on all the frames. Overall, it was a pleasant experience because the store was modern, well -lit and had plenty of workers keeping up with the customers. I would come here again. read more

I was hesitant after seeing the reviews on yelp as the soho location is my usual spot but the staffs are incredibly helpful. The rep that helped me, Chris R. - was amazing and provided advice on frame fitting as well as all these random questions I had. I had ALOT of random questions like: what's blue light? Does this make my face look fat? Is this cheaper compared to my insurance? Square or round? Can I get these shipped like tomorrow?? He answered everything and was so patient. With my current vision insurance plan, my husband had to pay close to $1000 for his frames, lenses, *some* lens compression, and anti-glare; that was WITH insurance. These glasses lasted 3 years until this past weekend when my husband accidentally slept with them on and broke the frame. His intention was to get contacts but I suggested he grab new frames so he could have a back up for home. Enter Warby Parker. I could kick myself since this place was recommended to me several times by colleagues and I have only NOW discovered this wonderful service to those that wear glasses. The eye exam, frames, and the wonderful customer service set us back a mere $200 and we can be reimbursed for some, if not all, of the money from our insurance company. My husband picked out some nice frames and we left in shock at how little we spent. I got lasik 10 years ago because I could no longer afford glasses and the selection was always awful... the future is looking kind of bright if my vision starts to fail me again... I guess it's the wrong location to come for an eye exam. My previous experience, 8 months ago, at the Lexington location was good. The staff politely asked if it was ok to way 15 mins since the doctor/eye specialist was with a few clients. It was a good time I spent looking at the glasses and seating down. The doctor was very great and I had a great experience. Today at the Rockefeller location, I showed up about 4 mins late and lined up since there were about 2 people in front of me. By the time, I got The front desk, I was 7-8 minutes! So my appointment was cancelled and turned away. Warby Parker must be doing so well to turn away clients a way after being 7-8 minutes late. From a client that bought your glasses 8 months ago and will bring my business somewhere else! read more

A much better experience this time. I stopped by because this Warby Parker was on the way. There weren't nearly as many people here this time. No line, no wait. Plenty of employees available to help customers. They suggested getting blue light filtering lenses. They didn't have any sample lenses I could look at, but I went with blue light lenses anyway. I received the package with my new glasses 9 days later. They did send out a tracking number this time. The glasses were great and fit perfectly. I wouldn't recommend getting blue light lenses though. They're $50 more and there's limited data to back up the claims people sometimes make about their advantages. The lenses are generally clear, but viewed at an angle, from the side, they look bluish and sort of iridescent. They're also noticeably thicker and heavier. Warby Parker does offer exchanges within 30 days. I'm not sure it would be worth the hassle of getting the lenses exchanged, but I wouldn't get blue light lenses again. read more

So we ordered two pairs of glasses. One of them arrived so woefully out of shape that when you put it on one side was 3 inches higher than the other. How anyone could have mailed this out to a customer, I don't know. Anyway, today I trudged through the snow to bring it to the store at Grand Central, which is open till 8 p.m. according to the website. When I got there at 5:15 I was told that they were closed even though I saw several customers inside. They refused to take my glasses and adjust them and told me I should come back tomorrow. Of course, they couldn't tell me if they would even be open tomorrow but suggested that I plan on trudging through the snow to find out anyway. Why I couldn't leave the glasses there and have them adjusted when the optician arrived, I don't know. They refuse to do this. The product aside, Warby Parker exhibits some of the worst customer service imaginable! read more

Shopping for eyeglasses is usually stressful for me as I have a narrow face and have a hard time finding glasses that fit me but she jumped right in and found glasses that fit me great. They have a sign on the door for holiday hours at the Rockefeller Center location stating they open at 9:00am. I got there a little early and was waiting for them to open. There were 3 employees of the store waiting for the manager or whoever it was that should open the store. At 2 minutes after 9:00am the lady (Rachel?) who was supposed to open the store arrived and let her employees in. I started to walk in because I needed my glasses fixed and she stopped me and said what did I need? I told her and she said we open at 9:45am. I said - but the sign on your door says holidays hours you open at 9:00am. She turned me away and I was not about to stand in the freezing cold for another 45 minutes. She was not even pleasant about it. Newsflash, if you open for business at 9:00am then you should SHOW UP before 9:00am ready for business at the time you advertise!! Very rude!! read more

I came to this new location while checking out the Christmas decorations in Rockefeller plaza. Always overwhelmed by options and very indecisive, I asked one of the sales associates for help. Armed with my boyfriend and bestie for their brutally honest opinions, Caitlin helped me find a new pair of glasses for my teeny, tiny, little face. Super bonus is that through today they were offering guaranteed delivery by 12/24 so I don't have to go back up there to pick them up, yay! While I was there, one of the fit specialists adjusted my two year old pair of glasses (while I was checking out) so they don't slide down as much.
