It seems bellhop movers used to be pretty good. However they're starting to change their business model as of around December 2025 and they will not use in-house people for every move. They call the other companies their Partners but it sounds to me like subcontracting the jobs. When I called about this at the beginning of my move as different people showed up at my house than bellhop , I did not have a way to talk to anyone at bellhop because they only use an AI chat bot now and you have to wait for someone to call you back. read more

Despite detailed inventory list, sending a team to pack all the items and inspect the move a week in advance, they will happily send a truck that's too small and hold your items hostage while they try and blackmail you for more money to move the rest of your stuff. read more

We were asked if they needed to move our 75 inch TV. We were supposed to sign a waiver to do so. I asked to see the waiver... 20 minutes later, the TV is in the truck. We move. Plug everything in the next day and the TV has an impact crater on the screen and the screen is cracked. In addition, they nearly ripped the armrest off our theater furniture and tried to hide it. The movers were laughing and carrying on about their side hustles and talking bad about the company. They were texting in between loads. We filed a claim and they offered $45 for a $700 15 month old TV that was in our media room and was hardly used. After 2 weeks of back and forth, they offered $150 for it, based on the weight of the item and not the value. What a joke! Buyer beware! read more

I was sorely disappointed with this business. I hired them to move my elderly mother from a small 2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom apartment. They never sent my confirmation and did not call me to confirm even after I reached out. When they arrived, two large men found my mother's legal gun in her drawer, and they were shocked to see it. My mom explained it was legally owned and she would gladly place it in her car for safe moving. They proceeded to cancel the entire more for fear of other guns that did not exist. They left a 73 year old women on the last day of the month to fend for herself for a move during covid. Bellhop is the absolute worst! Do not hire them!!! I paid for 4 hours and 5 movers. I got 3 movers who only took 70% of my stuff to the new house. They left the rest at the old house. Then just left everything in the garage at the new house. Didn't bring anything inside. Damaged my walls and door frames badly. After three days discussing with Bellhop, they won't do anything! I was offered a free local move by OfferPad when I sold my house. I checked into using their services to help me load my furniture into a POD since I would be moving out of state. I am a senior citizen and all alone so I need help in moving, aka big muscular people to move furniture. When they started going through the terms and conditions they mentioned that they do not disconnect appliances. What????? How am I, a senior citizen will be able to crawl onto the washer and dryer to disconnect the hose(s)? Especially, trying to undo the vent hose???? When I explained that I was a senior, the person reading off the terms and conditions said that it was "policy" and nothing could be done about it. Tyler and Rolando were great! They were prompt, communicative, and extremely careful moving my furniture. They were also very pleasant and efficient workers. I just needed a few furniture items moved from my garage to the house. I called a few moving companies, but they all had 2 or 3 hour minimums. Bellhop's rate was reasonable, and they only had a 1 hour minimum. Tyler and Rolando had finished moving everything in about 30 minutes, and offered to move additional items to make use of the rest of the hour. TOOK MY DEPOSIT, SENT AN Email hours before arriving to say they needed the payment for the rest of the trip, when I went to upload it, the cpu system said too close to departure time, so call. I called and left a message saying I had the additional payment they requested. They left us on the morning of the move with no help, no where to go, when I called, there was someone who could not articulate or pronounce any language, understandably reading from a script about the additional payment over and over, neverminded that we tried to pay it in the few hours turnaround they communicated through email with with no human interaction or support. He even carried our huge couch down from an upstairs apartment in humid 90+ degree weather just like The Incredible Hulk would have done.. I loved the ability to book online, my lead mover contacted me the day prior to confirm. So far so good. Then they showed up and everything went downhill, quickly. I hired 3 movers as the website says to do if you have large or heavy items. The three movers came without any equipment. They asked ME if I had a dolly they could use. No lifting straps, no pads, no dolly, no back supports, NOTHING. They didn't even have boot covers. Because of this they weren't able to get my refrigerator out of my POD. I've had to hire new movers to come do that. They dropped my family's keepsake ornaments, scratched my wall and dragged dirt through my house. When I called BellHop to inform them of this disaster they told me it was MY fault for not providing the movers the equipment they needed and would do NOTHING to make it right. I asked to speak to a manager who I was told would call me back within 30 minutes and never did. So now I'm getting an attorney. I would never recommend this business to anyone. Oh, and the movers themselves told me how frustrated they are because they aren't provided the equipment, they receive frequent complaints from customers for the company's failure to communicate clearly and provide post-service customer support. EDIT: the supervisor did call me back and was also unhelpful. Regarding your response to my review, this WAA simple unloading of a POD into my home. A customer should never be required to supply equipment and movers who were hired for the purpose of moving heavy items should come prepared to do so. read more

Arranged for movers to come out and help with a 2BR apartment move. They came with NO moving supplies (no furniture dolly) and did not follow the plan we set up for them. Workers were working at their own accord. This forced us to leave our belongings unattended with movers to leave mid-project to buy our own dolly. Additionally, we had to move our boxes alongside them since they were severely unprepared for the move. An hour move turned into a 3 hour project due to the massive miscommunication with their support team. Tried amending the situation with support and was not given a fair assessment of this incidence. 10/10 do not recommend this company, go local with people who are willing to do the job right. read more

He managed his team effectively and had a quick solution to any issues that came up. I highly recommend Bellhops and will use them for our future moves. With 2 girls in their Junior and Senior years in college we have been doing a lot of moving them in and out of apartments the last few years. In the past I've resorted to Craigslist. Half the time the movers don't show up because they book bigger jobs or are just plain unreliable. The other half the time they show but are so sketchy I worry for the several nights following about them knowing where my daughter is living alone. This experience with Bellhops couldn't have gone any better! I booked them online on Monday for the Saturday move. Right away the move captain called to confirm the booking, introduce himself and discuss the move. I was immediately at ease. The next day I remembered seeing a Groupon for half off the 1st hour so I called and they added it to my order saving me $40. The team captain texted, emailed and called me the week leading up to the move along every step of the way. Both him and his wingman arrived before their scheduled time, immediately started to work and didn't stop until the job was done. They finished in less than the anticipated time and prorated the charge to actual not booked time. Nothing was broken or damaged, which is more than I can say for some "professional" movers. I can not express how great our whole experience was with bellhops.com! My husband and I flew out to Florida and unloaded my mom's store room and drove it back here. About halfway back we decided we'd look up what it would cost to hire some guys to unload the truck for us and that's when I found bellhops.com. We figured what the heck, it's cheap enough, we'll take the chance - I have had some horrible experience with local movers. The booking process online was super simple and left no doubt as to what we were ordering. We received a confirmation call the day before from one of our actual movers who was very professional and polite. I also received an email with each man's picture and a small blurb about them personally. The head mover "Captain" called again an hour before our appointment to make sure we were still on, which made me feel good knowing they were going to show up. The two young men showed up exactly on time, introduced themselves, shook our hands and looked us in the eye. We showed them what we wanted moved, where it was going and gave some instructions about specific pieces. They paid attention, asked good questions and did exactly what we asked. Both Inez and Michael were absolutely wonderful: nothing was damaged, not even a scratch, everything was done exactly as we asked, they were very efficient, courteous and pleasant to have around! At the end they thanked us both, shook our hands and explained the booking process while verifying the actual amount of time they were here. I soon received an email verifying the actual time they were here and we were only charged for that amount of time! Everything about this was simple, easy and exactly as promised! We will definitely be using bellhops.com and Inez and Michael specifically for any local moves, loading and unloading needs we may have. We will also recommend them to anyone who asks. Oh, and after it was all over I received an email requesting feedback on our experience. Awesome job!!!! I first heard about Bellhops through a friend who used the service. I told a friend about them and she used them as well. I finally had the opportunity to utilize the service on a hot and humid July Texas morning. I offered them water mid way through but they kept stead fast moving our belongings.
