Tony Anderson has taught SCUBA in WNY for over 50 years and has participated in discovery teams for several wrecks in Lake Erie and Tobermory, Canada. He is an instructor trainer for Scuba Schools International and Divers Alert Network. Carole Anderson has been diving for 26 years and a Scuba Schools International instructor for 23 years. She is also a Divers Alert Network instructor and is currently in her 8th year as the dive safety officer for the Aquarium of Niagara. Her knowledge combined with a little tough love keeps all of her students alive.

We enrolled in a scuba course with the intention of learning in a safe, professional, and supportive environment. Unfortunately, what I encountered was the opposite. Communication was poor from the start -- schedules were unclear, and I often had to follow up multiple times just to get basic information. During training, I witnessed a level of disorganization and lack of professionalism that raised real concerns about safety and adherence to industry standards. Instructors seemed overwhelmed or disinterested, and basic expectations for structure and clarity simply weren't met. I've submitted a formal complaint to SSI (Scuba Schools International), and they are currently investigating the matter under their Quality Management System. While SSI has limited authority over how individual training centers operate beyond official standards, I appreciated their willingness to take the concerns seriously. I believe scuba training is something that should be handled with the utmost professionalism and care -- and unfortunately, Phoenix Scuba did not deliver on that. There are many great dive shops out there -- I would recommend looking elsewhere.

They give you a choice of a "weapon" to smash things with - baseball bat or a gold club. They had a milk carton of glass wear for us to smash together and even a barrel. What I love is that you release all this stress and sweat so much from one session! Smash Brothers Rage room is something totally different in Buffalo and I highly recommend this place for date location or for a team bonding event. I went here with my boyfriend and this was an amazing place for us to "grow our love" lol. Another thing that I love is that they recycle the things you're smashing or you can bring in your own things to smash. So there must be a lot of regulars. The bar has a variety of options for beer and wine. They also have a lot of non-alcoholic options too. The TVs were all on with the Olympics which was great to have while watching the pups run around and play. I purchased a Field & Stream Blade 80 Kayak, which fits perfectly inside my Jeep and allows me to be independent when kayaking, as I don't need help trying to hoist it onto my Jeep's roof, etc. This was my first kayak launch experience. The kayak launch is very busy. There are two launches. While there on a Tuesday night, the skies were grey and there was a threat of rain, but I wanted to get out on the water and use my kayak for the first time. There were many groups of people who were filing in and out of the kayak launch. We passed by a few kayakers as well, in our group. I found a Meetup group and the 5 of us went down the water toward the Niagara River and where Canal Fest is held every year in July. The kayak launch facility is very nice. Why did I only rate this site 3 stars? The Canadian geese! That's why! Although, they are nice to look at and watch, their excrement is everywhere. Watch where you step when you bring your kayak to the launch. Maybe don't wear open toed shoes either. There is a port-o-potty on site that everyone in my group used, but me. I guess it was maintained, but it still doesn't entice me to use it. There is also a path that runs through this area next to the canal. There was also a picnic bench to gather with friends. There is ample parking as well. There is also a dock next to the kayak launch.
