I'VE ALREADY SCHEDULED TWO MORE SESSIONS!!!!!!!!!There is absolutely nothing negative that I can find to say about this experience. First of all, the Zen Sanctuary is beautiful, peaceful, clean, easy to find, parking no problem, and you really do feel like you enter a sanctuary when you walk through the doors. You even feel the natural desire to communicate in a whisper because it's so peaceful, unlike the other more commercialized massage "joints". As soon as I met David and we briefly discussed the session, I knew it would be a professional, relaxing bodywork experience with a knowledgeable therapist, not just some yahoo with some aromatherapy oil and a few backrubs under his/her belt. Thank you, David! Additionally, I was able to use Spa Finder gift cards here. It was so refreshing to know that David was going to actually listen to my bodywork needs and apply the time appropriately. I don't like it - at other places - where they ask you a few questions and then just do their normal "massage routine". I have been having pain/craps in my hands and wrists. My work requires repetitive motion 8-10 hours a day for over 24 years. Crocheting is one of my favorite hobbies, so to say the least my hands are my life. My daughter booked an appointment with Leah at Warder Bodywork to help relieve the cramps and pain in my hands. Upon arriving Leah sat down with me and went over my pain issues and discussed how she wanted to get to the root of the problem. Leah worked the areas that were bothering me and was great on sharing information on how my wrist and hand pain stem from my arm muscle. She showed me a good knuckle message I could give myself along with hand stretches to relieve some of the workout my hands get on a daily basis. I have never been to a massage therapist who gave me such great information along with daily care I can provide for myself prior to work. It has been almost a week and I feel great. David came highly recommended by a friend of mine. I was not quite sure that I wanted a massage from a male, but decided to try him. I was not disappointed- at all. David is thoughtful, unassuming, and disarming. He sat and chatted with me for a while before the appointment. It is hard not to immediately like him. (I also love the fact that he was a teacher before he changed careers.) The massage was great- the pressure was spot on, he was attentive, and I felt very comfortable and relaxed. AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC!!! I had a girls weekend in San Diego and we had rented a beach house in Mission Beach. Leah came to the beach house for 6 hours to give all us girls massages and it was amazingly fantastic! I could tell with Leah that she had a great sports massage therapy background and she worked every single muscle. Usually when I get deep tissue massages I am in pain the entire time and very sore afterward but with Leah she was so gentle with my knots and I was actually more relaxed than I had ever been. I received a gift certificate for a massage with David. I am very picky about my massages because, as an athlete and coach, I find it hard to find a therapist that knows how to find the source of injuries or stress and execute relief. The massage was 90 minutes and was everything from relaxing to deep tissue to stretching. He specifically worked on some areas that I have been having difficulty with--finding the root of the issues--and by the end all the kinks were out and I felt like a million bucks. I went to see David Warder last week regarding a shoulder issue and received some amazing treatment. Based on my symptoms and history, he was able to effectively treat the tension and trigger points in my shoulder with focused therapy. I left pain-free and with increased range of motion in my shoulder, which was surprising since I thought I had re-injured the area with recent workouts. I was referred to David by a colleague who had been to him several times when I complained about my neck. I'm not really a fan of massage in general but she talked me into it and after one 30 minute treatment I felt 10 times better. This guy is amazing! David is incredibly strong but at the same time knows exactly how to use the right pressure. My neck is a trouble spot and David zeroed right in on it and got me feeing human again. I had a 90 minute deep tissue massage from David that focused on lower back/hip pain, arms and neck/shoulder area. This was a very thorough and therapuetic massage and I am going back for more. I definitely felt much better after and the effects lasted for days at least. read more
