1st time customer. Went for lunch today and was treated poorly. We were seated immediately, but afterwards no one came to our table. We sat there for over 15mins. Multiple waiters and waitresses walked by our table, no one stop to speak, no one took our drink orders, appetizers, lunch, or anything. There were multiple tables around us being served, but not my family. I'm upset with the service, and I'm upset that the manager did nothing, just an apology. An apology doesn't change how I fee. This has been the worst experience I've ever had eating out in the city that I call home. I guess you can't miss what you never had. But I definitely will not return. read more

Probably a nice place to take a date or for a business lunch, but was not really impressed with the food as much as I had heard about it. Mine was almost over seasoned. I thought it could have been much better, but it was almost like they were trying to hard to be great. From what I could tell from others that were in our group, the food looked good, but was a little on the pricey side. Not some place I would go to just eat a meal. We're on a road trip to Florida and found this gem! This looked like a perfect place to get our gumbo & etouffee fix. First they brought out a basket of jalapeño hush puppies that were so good! I wanted to try the gumbo & etouffee so I got a cup of each. The seafood gumbo was excellent! The spice did linger so it'll warm you up quite a bit. The crawfish etouffee reminded me more of a bisque, it was good but a lot thicker than what I'm used to & lighter in color. My husband had a seafood combo of blackened catfish & butterflied fried shrimp w/cheesy grits as his side. OMG those grits are so good!! The only critique we would say is our waitress said little to nothing to us, it was weird. I think it was a manager that came over and talked with us twice asking how the food was & if we needed anything else, super friendly. So maybe the waitress was just really shy or new. If we were ever passing through we would come back. The atmosphere & history of the building is pretty cool too. read more

I found this place on yelp. I was adamant about visiting a local place during my work visit. This place did not disappoint. I had the fried catfish, shrimp, and oysters with the jalapeno grits. It was delicious. My server Kirsty was great. She was attentive, engaging and I didn't have to ask her for anything. She was on it. I love the view of the river. The blackened redfish is my favorite. I've always had good service.

The bartender arrogantly stated he could mix anything. Anything. So I asked for an Aviator. What I got was a sweet pink mess in an old fashioned glass. If you don't understand how wrong this is, then just look up an aviator cocktail. The meal wasn't much better. We ordered oysters and catfish. Great place to eat when in Monroe La. This location had a great selection of appealing food to enjoy . I love the decor which was dark and cozy. Excellent all around! The food, atmosphere and service is fantastic. Hush puppies: light, with a little heat, and perfect! These are the best hush puppies. I don't even normally like hush puppies, but these were not greasy at all and had great flavor. Fried green tomatoes were also excellent. Caesar salad: loved this salad. The Caesar dressing was just right. I'm so picky about Caesar dressing :) so I liked it!! Corn and crab chowder: lump crabmeat and creamed corn. Really delicious! A little salty, so that was too bad, but overall still good. Redfish supreme: honestly the best dish on our table! Highly recommend it. Shrimp and grits: also very good. I eat a lot of variety of shrimp and grits. This one is unique with a white gravy which was good. Also the grits are fried into cakes. I don't prefer that aspect as it takes away from the jalapeño cheese grits. So I like mine with just regular jalapeño cheese grits rather than the grits cakes. Nobody at our table ate more than half their plate. The portions are huge and the food is filling. My only criticism is that almost everything tastes salty. My personal opinion is everything would have been 5-star quality if it had less salt, so that's the reason for 4-stars. The service is great. The atmosphere is great. The history is great. read more

If you are looking for a good place to take a date out for an evening dinner or just have a drink, this isnt a bad place to hit up and try at least once. Its located on the river and does have a river view. Plenty of seating in the restaurant. Parking is gravel, so if you're from out of town, may want to take an SUV. Otherwise just drive slowly. The reason I gave this place 3 stars was because I had a bad experience with our waitress. She never came by to fill our water. Not only that, we waited a while and then boom! both our salads and main entree came out just minutes apart. So one bite into my salad and I have a main course just sitting there. Had to jump between the two because I didnt want the fish to get cold. F Maybe she had a bad day. I don't know... but its showing in this review. Went here last night, haven't been in a year or so and it was so good. Ordered shrimp cocktail, duck wraps, oysters for appetizer and they were all amazing. Duck wraps were much bigger and better than cottons. I ordered the redfish entree and was really impressed. The fish was cooked perfectly and the jalapeño cheese grits were incredible. Finally got to try this place after several years of living here. Everything was delicious. I recommend the duck wraps! The crab cakes and shrimp and grits were good, too. And apparently they have a special cherry used in their cocktails, which you can try for a fee and they're definitely a treat. Service and atmosphere were also great. Glad I finally tried this place. This restaurant is one of my dad's favorite places to eat- we always drive over from Vicksburg (about an hour drive) when we all fly back for holidays. I love the atmosphere & tonight was no different- there was a beautiful sunset over the river & a wonderful piano player who gave us music to listen to. The peppercorn steak is what I would highly recommend (my sister got this & I tried a bite). I ordered the shrimp and grits, which is normally phenomenal, but it was extremely salty tonight. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer (they were awesome), and my dad got the catfish (super yummy) & my mom got the redfish supreme with veggies (also super yummy). Our waitress (Dixie) wasn't very attentive even though it wasn't crowded, and she put some kind of weird frozen grape in the wine (on the second glass I asked her to please not do that). Started with the oysters - fresh . Seafood Gumbo was amazing. I'm really not a fan of grits or hush puppies but this place converted me . The shrimp and grits was on point. I actually oversees the Blackened tilapia but they served me the shrimp and grits by to me by accident- I was eating it looking for the fish but was blown away by how good it was . They came out with the blacken tilapia and even thou I was full I ate half of it . Coming from a non Cajun city, this place taught me how Cajun is suppose to taste like. And the waiter was amazing as he seemed to read my mind. Good job jimmy. You are told of the places to eat when you visit a city. Here for business and was recommended this restaurant by several coworkers. I had the Redfish Louisianne, and wow, it was absolutely incredible! The entire dish was spiced perfectly, delightfully smothered in that typical Cajun style, but really well balanced. Fried crawfish basket appetizer was delicious, I really liked the dijon-esque dipping sauce it came with. Wine list was great, local brews on tap as well. I didn't get a chance to try the cocktails but they looked awesome. Waiter mentioned they have a full bar, so that's pretty cool too. Service was attentive and snappy - my water was always full, table was regularly checked on, and conversation about local history and menu item was awesome. You can tell they get a fair bit of tourists, the abundance of local knowledge the waiters had (and their willingness to share) was awesome. But at the same time, plenty of people living in Monroe recommended it to us as being just all around great dining. That's a good sign. Last night was the first time I ate at the Warehouse. I have been hearing about it since I moved from Fort Worth, TX Last March. The manager, Sarah, was completely kind, accommodating, and very welcoming. My boyfriend and I had reservations at 7pm, and we were sat outside in their lovely patio. It was unexpected chilly for my liking, so I asked Sarah if she wouldn't mind moving us to a table inside. Being a person who used to work in the restaurant industry knows how irritating that can be! But she didn't seem irritated at all. Matter fact, she seemed wonderfully happy to do so. I think the reason why the Warehouse is so successful is because of the management. There's usually a soulful guitar soloist singing, "Happy Birthday" as you overlook the Ouachita River, rated as one of the ten most beautiful rivers in America in National Geographic. If I'm being honest, the food is good for this area. It's a little heavy, Southern comfort for my taste, but still fresh and local. Excellent food and service. Loved the hush puppies. Had a red fish dish with a Dijon sauce that was very fresh and tasty. Vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked.
