From the door man and door cat that greeted us to the jazz pianist who provided ambiance, this place is a class act. My wife wanted to celebrate her birthday here, where she worked many many moons ago, so we walked in on a Friday evening, and waited 30-45 minutes for a table. We ordered a lot of food for our party, my children loved everything, especially the catfish bites and refills on their drinks. I deducted a star because the portion for the Ouachita River special was small ($29 for 3 fried shrimp and maybe 15 fried oysters, which was more than it was supposed to be because I asked them to substitute oysters for the catfish that was supposed to come with it), and the crab cakes that my MIL had wasn't anything like what a crab cake should be (born, raised, and live on the East Coast, very familiar with Baltimore crab cakes)... The birthday picture and cheesecake was a nice touch. My wife enjoyed that! read more

My partner in crime and I stopped for dinner here after a long day of shopping and we were not disappointed! From the spectacular view to the great food, everything about this place just hit the spot. For dinner I had the catfish with hushpuppies and sweet potato fries. Huge portions, enough for me to have a big lunch the next day. The flavors all went so well together. Friend had the pasta scampi with chicken and said it was amazing. As for dessert, we couldn't pass on the beignets. They're very light and sweet and I absolutely loved them. Other appealing options were the banana pudding and the key lime pie, but we were absolutely stuffed from everything else. I highly recommend taking time to eat here. The atmosphere was great here. Came here to celebrate my bday and we had a good experience. We stayed at the patio that has a view of the river. I came here twice one at noon and sunset and I recommend to come here during sunset because it has a nicer view especially if the orange sky mirrors on the water. For the food, I ordered fried fish, it was good but it all taste the same from other places but maybe next time ill try the other menu. Staff are friendly. They give complimentary for special occasions. It's kind of pricey if you are in a budget. Place is clean and fancy. I'll still go back and try their other menu. read more

I went to this restaurant on the evening of July 20, 2023. As I looked at the menu I decided to order under the Entree section. I was then told that what was listed under the Entree didn't receive what was listed under that section. I was told it would actually be extra cost. As I pointed out that the extra basic house items were included, I was told that there was nothing they could do. I then politely asked to speak to a manger. At that point Sara / Sarah came over. She was explained to the waitress what my issue was. When the manager came over, she asked what she could do to make this right. When I told her that I would like what's on the menu to be served as such, she then told me that the owners wouldn't let her do that. I have a few questions. Why have food listed under one section when you do not allow it to be sold at such? Why have a "manager" on duty offer to correct something that, the owners obviously refuse to correct, be held back by helping possible new customers? I'm not from here. I heard about this place for the food. I guess the customer service isn't worth any of that. read more

The story of Warehouse No.1 is printed on the placemat. Much of the original building has been preserved with the original sign still hanging over the entrance. Rhonda was my server and she was sooooo delightful! She made my experience even better! She was knowledgeable on the menu and provided excellent service. I had a cup of gumbo, excellent! A basket of hot, fresh hushpuppies were offered as a table condiment! They were crispy on the outside with a smooth, delicate, flavorful center! Perfection! The Shrimp and Grits were the best I have ever had, and I live in the South where grits are a commonplace side. They were the star of this dish! That sauce though... I could drink it! Delicious! From the outside this place doesn't look like it would be a 4 to 5 star restaurant but looks are deceiving and I assure you it is. From the drinks to the appetizers moving on to their entrees and finishing with one of the desserts was a wonderful experience. You don't often run across a place that has excellent service along with excellent food but this place holds the patent on that. We were never disappointed at any point in the evening and would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. We come from an area south of here that prides itself on having some of the best food in the world (No city name but they flood a lot) and they do but I would definitely put this restaurant, their service and food with some of the best. The specials were really special! Called when we were on the road to confirm they were open (they were) see if needed a reservation (we didn't) and it was super kind that they person who answered the phone said he was excited to see us. This turned into our birthday dinners (my paramore and I are two (2) days apart. The whole experience was unexpectedly great- so i will break it down in case you skip ahead. 1. Food! Stuffed crab claws with Artichoke hearts- so perfectly fried and flavorful Chilean Sea bass- with the creamed spinach and wild rice (it seemed similar to the one they used to do at GW Fins) was light and citrusy. (great server recommended a nice sauvignon blanc which was a nice complement) Red Fish- blackened- uh-may-zing Because it was our collective birthdays- they brought us a slice of cheesecake with a candle- took a pic of us blowing it out- and gave us two (2) HARD copies to take home and frame! 2. Ambiance We sat outside- which was very comfortable- not hot at all. The sunset on the river was GORGEOUS 3. Service Lovely and I can't say that enough. They were tentative but not hovering- and made great suggestions about cocktails and wine - and brought extra hush puppies with out us even asking- even the bus boys were great! My coworkers wanted some seafood and this place was highly recommended. The restaurant is next to the river so when you got out of your car, the smell hit you very strong. So glad it smells better when we entered the restaurant. The place was very crowded but luckily we made reservations. We started out with the oyster samplers: Traditional Rockefeller, Bienville & original baked. The oysters was a good size. I enjoyed it but feels that it came out not hot enough and not enough of butter because I like to dip my bread to the liquid from the oysters but there was none. For my entrees, I ordered the Shrimp & Grits. Blackened jumbo shrimp over fried jalapenos grit cakes with herbs cream sauce. The jalapenos grits and herbs cream sauce really goes together very well. The shrimp was a tad too salty for me. One coworker got the Pasta Scampi and the other got the center cut filet mignon. Both really enjoyed their meal. Driving back to NM from NC I just knew we needed to stop in Louisiana for some seafood and let's just say that this place did not disappoint, staff was amazingly friendly with my two year old and I mean our waitress and every other waitress walking by which was super nice, the food was fresh and delicious the food came back super quick too and the hush puppies are GOLD you just want to keep eating them, also you are really close to the water which is always a nice view we are definitely coming back if we end up driving back to NC any time soon. read more

1st time customer. Went for lunch today and was treated poorly. We were seated immediately, but afterwards no one came to our table. We sat there for over 15mins. Multiple waiters and waitresses walked by our table, no one stop to speak, no one took our drink orders, appetizers, lunch, or anything. There were multiple tables around us being served, but not my family. I'm upset with the service, and I'm upset that the manager did nothing, just an apology. An apology doesn't change how I fee. This has been the worst experience I've ever had eating out in the city that I call home. I guess you can't miss what you never had. But I definitely will not return. read more
