WHITE HAIRED WITCH! Let me start by reviewing my server. He was polite and attentive and respected my space as I completed my call before ordering food. Albeit, not a cheap 3 eggs, potatoes, and bacon. It was cooked properly and arrived quickly possibly because the place was 95% empty for the entirety of the time I sat quietly by myself. Bothering absolutely no one. The server checked in on me, provided my check post meal to which I advised him in advance that I didnt need anything further and asked if he was leaving anytime soon so I could ensure he was tipped before he left. Flashforward, that's where the experience took a turn for the worst the white haired witch of a Manager approached my table telling me "I needed to move they need the table for dinner and that I'd been there two hours. Thats how they make their money". To which I replied " I didn't know I was on the clock and how they make their money is from good tippers!" After the server came over, took my check and I advised him to keep the change and proceeded to leave. I gave her a tip on my way out "that hunting people out of an empty restaurant is just piss poor for business especially when it's already empty." I proceeded to my car where she followed me out like a psycho accussing me of not paying and threatening to call the cops. Another family owned and operated diner, which has a very large menu, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have been here mostly for breakfast or late at night after a girls night out. Portions are large and the food is good, not the best, but good. I've never had a problem with the service, however the food and atmosphere "of caring" has gone downhill since Michael's string of restaurants have taken over. Not my first choice in diner's, as the prices continue to rise and the quality continues to lower. They used to be open 24/7. I forgot to take notice in this on my past visit. My mom loves it! My mom and I go to lunch once a week. She always picks this spot. They have put COVID measures into place with little inconvenience to the patrons. They make sure everyone is safe with little down time. My mom loves the split pea soup on Thursday with any sandwich pairing. Like the mythical beast Hydra, the Michael's restaurant empire sprouted a new head when I wasn't paying attention and spewed it's evil breath of mediocrity upon another perfectly good diner!! We used to live near to Warminster West and it was a favorite - they made great breakfasts and just had good basic food in general. We were in the area last weekend and hungry and it was late and we decided to pop in. As we read the front of the menu and realized they had become part of the Michael's chain we looked up at each other in mutual dismay. Michael's had already ruined two of our other favorite diners (Country Club on Cottman Ave. and the Mayfair) We almost got up left and really should have but we were tired and hungry. Not that a lot of their food is terribly bad; it's just....not good. We ordered cheese omelets and they arrived lying limply on the plate, cheese amost melted, next to tasteless, almost warm potatoes. Hubby had substituted fries and they were the greasy vomitus kind with the weird fake crispy texture (like when Burger King changed their fries and everyone hated them?). Soon after I ate I had a stomach ache so they must have used cheap or bad cooking oil as well though the food was not particularly greasy going down. This is pretty much the same type of experience we have had at every other Michael's owned establishment. So if you are desparate and nothing else is open and you want almost warm, sort of edible food stop on in. read more

The servers were pretty nice. There were a few waitresses who were pretty loud and looked like they had a drug problem. But only a few of them. There was loud Latin music coming from the kitchen and the cooks were angrily yelling at the servers in Spanish... they got pretty aggressive a few times and that made many of us uncomfortable. Some of the staff didn't speak any English, but they were very nice and seemed to work hard. The food was ok. The Eagle Diner is sooo much better and have an amazing salad bar, so this was pretty disappointing. They need to clean the carpets or something because it stinks in there. I would recommend just getting rid of the carpets all together and just laying down tile. It's much more hygienic. Over all, I wouldn't go back here. The people working at the register and the old people yelling at them made it unpleasant and the food is better at any number of other diners who are in the same area. Why would we want to put ourselves through the experience of angry management and mean kitchen staff who's noise leaks out to our tables? It's not worth the trip. read more

For decades this place(in my opinion) is the jewel of Warminster. You could get just about anything you wanted at any hour of the day or night. That still applies today. At normal meal times it is crowded however going 2 hours before or after you'll have a more pleasant dining experience. I have been patronizing "The West" since it opened - probably fifty years ago. Independently owned, the atmosphere was always welcoming, food was good and it was a great place to go for a late night snack. As happen to many places when they are sold to someone who owns many restaurants, the atmosphere was different and the "old faithful" servers disappeared. For the most part the food was still o.k. I understand the challenges of the Pandemic, lack of workers, open limited hours. However, our outing this evening caused me concern - does it have a future. There were few servers. Tried to order an entrée' that was on the Internet menu. It was not on the menu and I was told that they don't check their posts. I selected an entrée' that was on the menu - they didn't carry it anymore. As we were waiting to pay our bill, a slovenly dressed man barked at one of the servers telling her to get over to the cashier's station I had encountered him before addressing the staff in a most disrespectful manner. I learned then that he was tolerated because he was a member of the owner's family. This group owns some of best diners in the Philadelphia area - The Mayfair, The Melrose, The Country Club, and others. Hopefully, the owners will take stock and bring all the restaurants back to the former glory. read more

Not sure I will ever order from them again. I pickup takeout and go in fairly frequently but tried DoorDash today. When I called advising them an item was missing they told me the driver picking up should have checked the order. DoorDash drivers are not allowed to touch the items in the bag. I asked for a refund they said they can't refund. They said we can come and pick up the sandwich. Advised me not to order DoorDash from them and hung up on me. I called back and the manager told me she was too busy for my issue. Finally got a hold of DoorDash after holding for 20 minutes and they went back for the food and issued me a credit for the inconvenience that was not their fault. The restaurant should check to be sure all items are there regardless of if it is a direct pickup or DoorDash and who tells a customer not to order from them again when the restaurant made the error????! read more

If I could give a negative star rating I would. The hostess was rude. She didn't say hi or how are you. First thing she said to us was how many, I told her, and she grabbed menus and threw them in the table and walked away. Than we ordered our food. I got my 2 year old daughter an apple juice and was given to in a to go coffee cup. My friend ordered a chocolate chip waffle with whipped cream, when it came out there was as a long hair cooked into it. We got the 2nd waffle made and it had no whipped cream and barely and chocolate chips in it. My brother ordered pancakes that were absolutely horrible. They were made in a microwave. They were cold and rubbery, they were like dog toys on a plate, I got the tuna melt is it just tasted off it was not seasoned. $50 for a crap meal. If you have no taste buds come here. The smell of the place was off putting definitely didn't smell like food, it smelt like moth balls. The tables are way to small for 4 people. A booth would of been better. Review based off of 2 recent visits. Much improved since last time I tried this place about 3 years ago. Not sure if they recently changed owners/management or just got their S together, but the last couple of times got a very good meal a reasonable price. 14 oz steak 2 veggies soup (or salad) and ice tea 17.00 bucks,,wow. The Soup selection could be a little better as some nights you can't get a creamed soup. Steak was nice little fat and good taste. 2nd time got chef salad which was also very good loaded with turkey ham no skimping on the meat. Warminster West also has a very clean more cozy atmosphere than other local diners in the area. All the waiters and waitresses here are extra nice it seems, you probably will pick a favorite. We loved going to Warminster West in the past. Had dinner there last night, our dinners were horrible. My husband ordered steak well done that came out bloody. Server took it back we waited and waited. The steak when it finally did come out was as tough as shoe leather! It was very dry hard to chew and get down. My husband took it home for our dog. When we first got there no one wanted to serve us. When the server gave us our food, my friends food was wrong, and when she took it back they didn't remake it, they just plated it differently and it came back cold, and the waitress tried to say she gave us extra stuff but she only plated it correctly this time because she didn't give what was included in the first place. New Ownership / Bad Food. This used to be one of my favorites, now all new people with a new owner the food quality has gone way down. Example: The french onion soup had to be sent back twice before they got it right.The steak was very chewy with no flavor. They used to have delicious saute dishes, now it's terrible. Tried the flounder francaise, they really screwed it up. They must have all new cooks that don't know what they're doing. The menu is boring, mostly chicken (high profit) cooked 8 different ways. The West is a staple in Warminster some people like it some don't , but I have been here many times and it's always been hit or miss (more miss) I would say. We decided to go back to the west since it's been a while and they always remind me of why I stopped going there. Service can be ok or bad... was terrible tonight. This diner is my go to for an egg wrap and french fries. Their honey mustard is one of the best honey mustard I've ever had in my life (not an exaggeration). They have recently upped their prices and I'm paying almost $17 for an egg wrap and fries which I think is unbelievable. I used to pay around $9 to $10 (depending on what the person at the cash register would enter, it was very inconsistent), which I feel was somewhat reasonable but unfortunately I'm going to have to limit how many times I come here for my lunch. I took my family out here once and they said it was mediocre... (our waitress wasn't very accommodating or welcoming to when I requested an egg wrap since it is a custom order, she seemed annoyed and I deliberately apologized if I was any trouble)... but majority of everyone there is very nice and props to Christian for getting me on the egg wrap meal, it's very good especially for someone who is vegetarian has limited options for food. Again, I am extremely disappointed in the almost double prices and I felt like it wasn't too far fetched for me to be concerned with this, especially since I am a regular. When asking why, the manager was not very welcoming on explaining why they raised their prices. I wish there was more of an understanding on why I asked, especially from a customer's perspective... but I do understand. Have always loved coming here for the usual standard diner food. Today I walked in and the lighting is terrible, the service was mediocre, and my food was ok. I ordered a waffle with banana and turkey bacon well done. The waffle was good, not much you can mess up there. The banana was brought out after but not too big of a deal. The bacon looked undercooked to begin with let alone for being "well done." I've never had well done bacon be so undercooked in my life. Our waiter was a little awkward but nice. Once i read the reviews i knew i was fucked... sure enough the coffee came out (luke warm mud) took one sip. cheese omelet was as stated in one of the reviews on here... A big blob of flavorless cheese goop wrapped around what appears to be that milk carton egg stuff... Pour and cook. the toast was burnt and home fries were down right nasty. the waiter was nice enough but spent too much time flapping his gums about gambling. The last time I ate at the Warminster West Diner, I was a child with my parents. Therefore, I can't accurately recall how it compared at least 10 years later. I can however say that yesterday was one of the worst experiences I've ever had and I will not be returning. For a Monday night, it was pretty busy and the times when I do eat out or go to a diner fall on the weekend. The busy turn out for sure made me think positive things. We were seated right away and unfortunately, our waitress meant well -- but she seemed to rush us the moment we sat down. Asked what we wanted to drink, brought the drinks about at most a minute later and already asked if we were ready to order. I think I had just opened the menu. This was the theme the rest of the meal. I got a BLT club which was okay food quality wise. No real complaints or compliments; its the same at every diner or even small restaurant businesses. Me and my friend were having a good time talking and the waitress came back repeatedly, when it looked like we had sparse plates, to ask did we want anything else... did we want dessert... did we want boxes... more water... to the point where my friend was just like "I guess we're done, we'll just take the check". The waitress came back to clear our plates when we were figuring out how we wanted to split it and still chatting a little bit not that long later. Everything gave us the impression we were being rushed -- in a polite way, I guess? When we went to pay, we had made the mistake to not ask for our checks to be separate. But at most other diners (Lancer's, Red Lion) in the area... that is never a problem. You can break the subtotal into separate forms of payment. I remember doing this at every food service job I worked and even retail. Nothing painless about this. Well, the man who seated us who I didn't have much to say about prior was utterly rude about it. I wanted to pay $12, my friend would get the rest of the total. Instead, this older gentleman (with an accent and glasses) rudely pointed fingers asking "Well what did you order and what did you order" at us. That didn't really help as I was paying more than what I ordered. We didn't ask to have it split evenly, we wanted our subtotal to be paid in two forms. He was telling us it couldn't be done, to just tell him what we ordered. It was extremely rude. He even said, when asking what I wanted to pay "That doesn't help us". Your service did not help me. Because of this treatment and feeling like second class citizens, we put the total one card to get out ASAP. Not to jump to conclusions, but I somewhat wonder if the old man was telling our waitress to get us out. He clearly did not have much respect for us as customers and seemed to be a man in charge, calling bad decisions. Truly, as I have been behind a register various times in my past... this was a painless task. You did not need to be rude when we hardly got a chance to speak during the ordeal.
