Treat 'em and street 'em is probably imprinted on every chart; time with patients is seen as something to be avoided. I called one afternoon with sever abdominal pain. They sent me to local ER. I gave their name to ER on checking in and then being seen. I was admitted immediately for surgery with an emergency life-threatening surgical condition. I spent 4 days in the hospital with surgery and post-surgical treatment. Care by local hospital was great. At no time during those 4 days did anyone at Cleveland Clinic reach out to me, touch base with the doctors there, or in any way appear interested in their patient. Complete silence. When I reached out after being released to complain, the ombudsman was responsive with nothing but platitudes - "I'm sorry you feel we were not responsive." I told her it wasn't that I felt that way, they actually were that way. She could not produce any evidence contrary to my issue with them. Promised I would get a call from a senior manager about the problem, a call I have not received despite more than sufficient time. Bottom line - one star review is being generous.

The phone process of scheduling an appointment is the worst of any company I have ever experienced. The call center is hopelessly backed up with waits of greater than 10 minutes being the norm. The hold messages gives no indication of how long the wait is expected to be and for more than the past year has been playing a message that blames the delays on the transition to a new medical records system. Management should ALL be terminated for gross incompetence.

The test was completed at 8:40 AM. I was asked to wait in case radiology had questions. Well, no one was there, so they sent me home 40 min later. Did I mention this test was supposed to be rushed? It is now 2 pm the next day, and NO ONE has read the test. I have canceled 2 doctor's appointments, and I am hoping they will have it by the end of the day today. I spoke to someone who said they didn't have a radiologist to read it. WHAT? That is all they do. I am pretty sure it is remote at that. I will never return. What gross incompetence. The fact that the test was labeled STAT and no one has looked at it is beyond comprehension. Maybe they should listen to their own message (which I did for the better part of 30 minutes) about how they are on top of things and care ablout patients. Just horrible.
