He smelled it in my purse on my first visit and since then, I try to have one available for him every time. The shop is a little off the beaten path just off of Old Portland Road in St Helens, OR. Really kind of easy to find. You just have to know it is not going to be directly off of Hwy 30 but not far off. Joe is a young, small business owner. Very polite and very knowledgeable about my car. I watched as he asked me what the trouble I was having, he listened to my car, smelled it and observed and would take the vehicle for a test drive before coming up with a logical diagnosis. He has 1 other mechanic, Eric, equally as savvy with cars as I could tell. I don't think Joe realized just how much I was watching how he and Eric operated. I am usually very skeptical about price gouging and being taken advantage of because I am a woman, so I watch like a hawk. They are very happy to answer my endless questions in a way that makes sense to me and makes me confident they know what they are talking about and are not being deceitful in any way. I have never felt ripped off or taken advantage of and I have been going to him for 2 years now. This is very important to me as, I feel I am an independent, intelligent woman. They answering my questions and being up front about the procedures which can be like a doctor, trial and eliminating the possibilities in order to fix the more complicated issues. All which made sense to me. Yes, once I had to go through the line of possibilities (3) for a multi procedural fix and it turned out was the last item that fixed the problem. Joe was honest with me that if this last fix doesn't fix the problem even he would be stumped. Good thing it was the fix. Oh, and the price with labor did not put me into sticker shock. Phew! I also at first, would double check with my brother-in-law who was an out of state auto mechanic as well. When conveying to him how Joe worked and told him procedures in which Joe used said he would have used or advised the same things. There it was, confirmation. Now, I don't call my brother-in-law for confirmation anymore. As far as I was concerned, Joe has proven himself with me.

I recently purchased a truck from this dealership, and while there were parts of the experience I…read moregenuinely appreciated, there were also some major issues that I feel need to be shared. To start on a positive note: I love the truck, and the buying process itself was smooth and straightforward. The staff were friendly, and I drove off the lot feeling good about the purchase. However, a few things after the sale have left me pretty disappointed. First, I felt underpaid on my trade-in. I was told the value was lowered because it needed new tires--but then the dealership listed and sold it for significantly more without ever replacing the tires. That felt frustrating and misleading. But the biggest problem has been the mechanical condition of the truck I purchased. I live three hours away, so returning to the dealership for repairs wasn't realistic. Almost immediately after getting it home, I discovered several serious issues: The front brake rotors were warped, causing the steering wheel to shake violently when braking above 60 mph. This wasn't noticeable during the test drive since I couldn't reach that speed. The next morning, the serpentine belt began squealing when the engine was cold. The following day, the rear brake pads started squealing constantly, forcing me to take the truck into a shop. After inspecting the truck, the shop informed me that: -The front rotors were severely warped and needed to be replaced -The rear brake pads were worn out and rubbing the indicators resulting in the replacement of both brake rotors and pads. -The serpentine belt needed to be replaced due to the cold‑start squealing These are all issues that should have been caught in a basic safety or mechanical inspection. Instead, I ended up having to put a significant amount of money into repairs immediately after buying the truck, which was extremely disappointing--especially considering my trade‑in had zero issues. Overall, I'm happy with the truck itself, but extremely disappointed with the condition it was sold in and the lack of a proper inspection. I hope the dealership takes this feedback seriously so future customers don't end up in the same situation.

They did only what was required and the cost was reasonable. What really stands out is a second interaction I had with them. I called them over the phone a year later and asked if they could go through their records, find the receipt for the work done, and then mail it to me. And they did it! Promptly! Without getting compensation. They are good people that do good work and do what they say they will do.
