    STEPH SALAD

The Chicken Pesto pizza is now a family favorite. We also love their Steph salad. Would highly recommend this place and the outstanding customer service.

Whenever you feel you need a spicy Italian sandwich you should get one. I suggest you get it from these guys because its delicious. As a transplanted New Yorker this is one of the closest I've come to those childhood memories. My only complaints are I think the sausage has gotten smaller and they only had the 6 inch sandwich. Hey I know things have gotten pricier but I like when the fillings go to each end and I'm willing to pay more. That being said I still love this sandwich and have no plans to stop eating it. haven't tried the meatball yet but I'm thinking about it, imagine that's also tasty. Of course I'll let you all know how it goes when I do.

I wish I remembered our server's name because he was fantastic, but honestly, every person we interacted with was so friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. One of my favorite things we learned is that they're only open for a few hours each day because they spend so much time prepping everything fresh. The pasta and bread are made fresh daily, and you can absolutely taste the difference. The food has that authentic, family-recipe Italian feel that is getting harder and harder to find. I had the seafood pasta and it was to die for, and we also ordered the ribeye, which was incredible. Unfortunately, we were too busy eating to get pictures of either. We did manage to get pictures of the espresso martinis and the cheesecake because they were way too beautiful not to. The cheesecake was easily one of my favorite desserts I've had in a long time. And the panna cotta deserves its own mention. My boyfriend has been on a mission to find a new favorite ever since our old go-to restaurant stopped serving the one he loved, and I think the search is officially over. Amazing food, amazing service, beautiful drinks and desserts, and you can tell how much care goes into everything they make. 10/10 recommend. Matteo's has officially become our new favorite Italian spot.

We noticed it when we drove in late Friday afternoon and made reservations same day for their patio. We got some free street parking and when we arrived we were greater and promptly seated. While it was a hot July day the winds were so strong it kept us cool out there. The patio was a really nice setup and you didn't feel like the street was only feet away. We ordered the polenta with spice sausage, it was HUGE and can be shared with 4 people. 2 of us could not finish it. Additionally for dinner we got the gnocchi which was quite tasty and the steak special which was similar to a skirt steak. The steak was good, my only thing was that I didn't enjoy the seasoning on the potatoes (but those were my tastebuds and yours might like them)! Our server was attentive and informative too about the ingredients. It was a good meal to say goodbye to SLC.

The food was absolutely heavenly from start to finish, and I'm still dreaming about it. I even packed up my dessert to enjoy later, and Ben thoughtfully included instructions on the container for the best way to enjoy it. It's those little details that make such a lasting impression. Our server, Ben, was truly exceptional. He took the time to explain every special in detail, made us feel like we were longtime friends, and struck the perfect balance of being attentive without ever hovering. We were dining with our toddler, and he brought over crackers just in case our little one wanted a snack. That level of thoughtfulness speaks volumes. The restaurant had technically closed, but Ben never once made us feel rushed. Instead, he let us relax, enjoy the beautiful patio, and savor every moment of our meal. Genuine hospitality like that is so rare. Everything about our experience was outstanding, from the incredible service to the unforgettable food. If we ever find ourselves back in Salt Lake City, Caffé Molise will be our first stop without hesitation. Thank you, Ben, and the entire Caffé Molise team, for making our visit so special!

It's a beautiful space, especially when it's still light outside and the evening sun comes in through the windows. Our server Jordan was excellent. Knowledgeable and efficient. They give you a TON of complementary things. Bruschetta to start. A massive bread basket, which is great for dipping into the anchovy garlic dipping sauce and all sorts of other sauces throughout the evening. And biscotti and a little cup of hot chocolate for dessert. We did not love the pasta sampler we ordered, though. It certainly wasn't bad, but all the pasta was overcooked IMO. I got the Salsiccia e Mare for my entree, and it was fabulous. Essentially a cioppino, but with sausage on a bit of spinach in the middle. The seafood was clams, muscles, calamari, and scallops. My wife had the Pollo della Casa, which was super tasty, but, as with the pasta, we thought the risotto was really overcooked. Had almost no consistency at all. Almost like creamy grits. And the famous lemon gelato dessert at the end was super. It was 28 bucks - ouch - but it was massive. Very lemony, and served on a bit of fresh Utah peaches. Prepared tableside, which was fun. I didn't love the honey they drizzled all over it, but my wife sure did. All in all, a really fun evening and a very solid restaurant. We'll go again.

There were two options and we chose the one with shrimp on romaine, burrata caprese, and melon with prosciutto. Then we shared the pasta sampler (which has a much cooler name that I can't recall because I don't speak Italian!). I was never a big fan of gnocchi but it was fantastic, served in a spicier tomato-based sauce. There was a spectacular butternut squash ravioli, spinach ravioli, and a spaghetti with an indescribably delicious cream sauce. Overall, that dish is NOT to be missed. We also had a special entree of beef tenderloin with mushrooms, shaved potatoes, and an oxtail sauce. We shared it because OMG food coma, which was a great call. We finished with the tiramisu *swoon* and the lemon gelato with lemon juice, local Utah honey, and sea salt sprinkles. I'm not a big lemon dessert fan and I wouldn't have normally ordered it (I had the tiramisu). The lemon gelato with honey had such a pleasantly unusual texture. The honey had the mouth feel of stringy cheese but the flavor of spring. The gelato was delicate and soft and the salt just amplified the experience. Zachary was our server. He's funny, extremely knowledgeable, and served each dish with an unforgettable flourish. I'm sure mine is just one more voice extolling the fabulousness of this restaurant, but it was a pleasure. In my work, I get to eat in many amazing restaurants. It sounds bold, but I think this was one of the best meals I've ever had. Excellent choice!

If it was a bit more charred and crispy that would make all the difference. On the plus side since they don't cook it enough the pizzas come out fast at least lol, we got our 2 in about 10 minutes. We tried the signature Settebello, Pear & jalapeño pizza and a salad. The salad was lame - just a pile of arugula with maybe a little oil dressing topped w/ a slice of hard cheese. Essentially a plate of rabbit food for $10. The Settebello was very tasty & I enjoyed the addition of pine nuts. The pear/jalapeño was quite tasty and unique. Instead of a white/red sauce base, the base is a jalapeno&pear jam that is sweet w/ a little spice, very nice. My only small complaint would be about the cheese on this pizza. It's a creamy sweet cheese that I think clashes with the sweet& spicy flavor, I think a sharper cheese would pair much better with this pizza. All in all, if they fixed their dough game it would be 5 star. The prices are around $18-21 for a large personal pizza, or can be shared with an appetizer which I think is fair portion & price.
