The service/memorial room was big and they had separated the chairs in to w sections...so only having to walk in front of four people versus eight. A small parking lot, but I had arrived early. It's a nice touch that there are a few benches out front, under the carport so if you need to take some time outside. When I left I circled over to the other side of the room to look at pictures and exited the room through the south door...very nice that that room was used for desserts. I called the 24-hr answering service to notify them of her death for pick-up of her body at Methodist Hospital. I was told Cremation Society of Mn would be contacting me this morning; nearly noon & I haven't heard from anyone. I just called the number of the Brooklyn Park location since it's where I made the arrangements in 2017 and learned that the location has been closed. I also learned that Cremation Society of Minnesota was acquired by the Foundation Partners Group in Orlando FL in June of 2021; a vulture capitalist group! I can't get an appointment until next Monday - a WEEK after her death. How does one plan a funeral with this kind of response? When I made the arrangements, I dealt with people who exuded caring and compassion. Now I'm dealing with a corporation who could care less what I'm dealing with. Both my husband & I arranged for our cremation through Cremation Society of MN. Not with an out of state corporation. This is one of those services that needs to be well done, for sure. How a loved ones death is handled really makes a difference - this is not what I expected. There should be a way to cancel papers that were signed with Cremation Society before they were bought out. I'm dealing with the death of a family member & I now have to deal with a company that has owned Cremation Socity of Mn for two years & they can't see me for another entire week. Roberta P.

My mom passed at about 1:15 on a Sunday, and the chapel had someone to pick her up by about 3:30. It was comforting to know that we were cared for almost immediately! Two days later we met with Scott, who listened to our every desire for mom's funeral, which was held at the Edina chapel. From picking the casket to suggesting flowers, and finding a priest, all of the people at Washburn-McReavy made everything clear and easy to follow. Mom was 91, and definitely had aged, but the makeup and hair was amazing! We thought for sure it would be a closed casket!! But she looked so good we left it open! Scott found the overwhelming amount of tables and easels we needed for presentation. The funeral went smoothly, and the burial even smoother! When we pulled up to Ft. Snelling... the traffic coordinator knew Scott and helped us immensely! It was as perfect as a funeral can get! Everything was handled and coordinated without worries! It was a beautiful service, and everyone commented! You won't be disappointed! In a time of stress, they made our lives so much easier!

Soon after, I spoke with my family about next steps, and my brother found Huber Funeral Homes. Of all the places he called, Chad, the program director there, picked up immediately. He said he could meet with us the morning of Labor day (the next day) to review booking a date, pricing, and answer any questions. We had the meeting around 10 am, and he professionally arrived early in a suit. He gave us the information, and we felt comfortable enough to go with him. He also gave us a folder with all the information not only about the funeral, but also about what to do after one loses someone. I appreciated that. The day before the funeral, Huber Funeral Homes coordinated with the hospital (where my father passed), embalmed him, and transported him to their location. We had to think of so much that day; I'm glad they took care of everything. The day and a half I had to organize the funeral, I worked with Chat to have a program printed, and he gave me so much flexibility in getting those materials to him. When I arrived, they already had my father, flowers, and everything else setup. They accommodated us and our request, for a Buddhist funeral, too. After the ceremony and reception, they coordinated a funeral procession to Lakewood Cemetery where they cremated my father. They hired law enforcement to literally stop traffic, for us, as we traveled from Eden Prairie to Minneapolis. I hate the fact I'm writing a review about a Funeral Home, but Huber is a business, with locals working there, too. And they did such a good job that when an awful event like the loss of a loved-one occurs, trust Huber Funeral Homes to help make the worst time in your life a little bit easier.

Especially under the leadership of the director for the last two years, Dom, the center is well organized, well staffed, and has the most welcoming atmosphere. After the pronouncing of her death I had to call the funeral home to pick her up. I was told they were busy, and they came in a timely manner. Even it's a loved one, a dead body in the bedroom is damned creepy. We were able to make arrangements the next day. I like how during the visitation they're so available and on top of things. Turns out we shared the day with a much younger man who was very popular and had almost 200 guests. We were in the smaller room across the way, yet as people came in they were drawn to our side to sign in. This basically led to me directing traffic, rather than visiting with our guests. So right away the director moved our sign in to inside our room, problem solved. They are very good at helping you keep costs down. At stressful times like this you want friendly, co-operative people at your service.

They charged a fair price of $995 including the crematory fee and everything. No extra credit card fees (or charging us $175 for the plain black plastic container the crematorium provides for free). And they actually answered their phone and talked us through the process. They were so helpful and respectful from beginning to end, and they even helped us file the burial assistance request with the county. Plus, we got to pick up the personal effects ahead of time, and our experience being there the day of the cremation was everything we could have hoped for. Highly recommend.

The manner in which Steve Rogers was empathic was very helpful. I feel better knowing I will not pass on to our children any financial burdens when I pass.

Was a comfortable venue... like most funeral homes...dated 80s vibe... but still comfortable and welcoming. I appreciated that there were different places to sit throughout... so everyone doesn't have to sit together; different rooms and seats along both sides of the halls. The memorial room(?) was comfortable, well lit and had plenty of seating; 12 pews on each side of the aisle. I didn't think to picture the pews as they did have interesting and comfortable padding. The room also had good acoustics, as a fellow played a drum. The sitting room(?) across the hall was comfortable and even had a tv that a slide show was streaming on. Parking was easy, not plentiful, about a dozen spots but there is street parking on Minnehaha and other surrounding streets.My only complaint, the one star deduction.... despite being a large human the bathroom stalls were so small. If you don't need to use the ladies room everything else is wonderful. Thank you for providing a comfortable environment for us to say goodbye to our friend.

They really listened to us and seemed genuinely interested to know who Jeff was; then made areas in the room that reflected Jeff's interests and personality with pictures, memorabilia, and more. They had to have spent hours and hours on getting it ready! It was like a showcase of Jeff's life. He would have absolutely loved it! The quality of everything they did was top-notch. The printed programs, the guestbook, and everything was so thoughtful and well-crafted. The pictures I have included are just a small sample of what they did. The walls around the room had slideshows with pictures of Jeff's life. It was EPIC! Daniel, Corrine and the entire staff were wonderful to work with. Always pleasant, helpful and supportive. We had never planned a funeral or memorial service before and the staff here helped us every step of the way and made the process actually enjoyable. They took care of everything before, during and after the visitation, service, and luncheon so we could spend time with our approximately 70 guests. The building was spotless, comfortable, and perfect for our family and friends to get together. I really can't stop raving about this place to everyone. Absolutely a great value, worth every penny spent. They really made a day we were dreading into a wonderful memory spending time celebrating my brother's life. A+++!!!

She stated something about them being very busy so it would be awhile until they could come out to collect the body - not an unreasonable request, but eventually she asked if there was anyone at the deceased's home who could help them carry the body out to the van! I thought this was so horribly inappropriate that it would have been comical in an Saturday Night Live skit, but to ask this of the bereaved was just outrageously unacceptable IMHO! I was dumbfounded. Not only by the insensitivity of the question, but also because this is part of what you pay them to do. We immediately decided to cancel their services and contacted a different funeral home who treated us much more respectfully and arrived within an hour of our contacting them. A few days later I tried to call the manager at W.M. SE Chapel to let them know why we cancelled their services. I was told he was out sick, so I left a message asking that he call me when he returned. Over 3 weeks have how passed and I still haven't received a call back.
