I sent an online service request to Washington Fitness Services, who replied promptly saying they could help, but also advising that the repair was minor with brief instructions on what was needed to be done if I wanted to attempt the repair myself. They even sent me a link to a source where I could buy the part I needed, which was not easy to locate otherwise since the treadmill model I have is no longer being manufactured. I opted to have WFS perform the repair, and Dale was more than fair in charging us a reasonable fee for doing the repair. This may not matter to you but in case it does--I asked Dale to wear a mask while in the house, and he angrily refused. I clarified that it wasn't political and was because my husband is very ill and waiting for a lung transplant (and it's flu season). He told me he's "sick of all this shit" and stormed out. It was unsettling. He also mentioned several times that he has never worked on our Proform machine before, but he's been to our house previously to work on the exact same one... This is a review from 4 months ago. I'm so pleased with how things turned out I've had a reminder on my desk since then and have refused to take it off until I write this review! I had called a bunch of places trying to get the clunk/knock in my elliptical fixed - all the other ones seemed pretty shady and had bad reviews, I didn't get any feeling that they'd solve my problem even after paying the $80 for just a visit. When I called Washington-fitness it was a totally different story. The person on the phone was friendly, listened to me describe what was going wrong. He explained that he could come out but he's almost certain from my description that this was a bad flywheel and those were pretty easy to replace for someone moderately handy. I just happen to be moderately handy so he described what was going on, all about the lifetime of bearings, etc. I then ordered the part, downloaded the instructions, and replaced my flywheel leaving me with a fully functional and quiet machine. They gave me the information and the confidence to get my machine fixed, and saved me money on actual service. Thank you! read more

If I could give Dale 10 stars, I would! Our ancient NordicTrack treadmill died recently, and after reading the positive reviews here I sent a note to Dale. He responded promptly and came out to our house later that day to check it out. He diagnosed the problem, gave me the honest assessment that his fix might not be able to truly fix it, and sent me an estimate for the part and labor. We decided to take a chance and order the replacement part, as it still seemed cheaper than a new treadmill. Dale came out to our house again once the part had arrived, at 6pm on a weeknight in order to accommodate our work schedules, worked on the fix for about an hour, only to discover that his initial assessment was correct and while it now technically works, it doesn't work well. I told him it was unlikely we'd be using it in its current working form and he could take the part that he'd ordered and installed back with him for future use. He preferred not to mess with it again and left it in our machine. When I asked how much I owed him he said he didn't want to charge for a treadmill that doesn't work. I offered to at least pay for his time and work, but he declined. So after 2 trips to our house North of Seattle, over an hour of total labor, and the cost to order the part, he made $0 from me. I have an ancient Tunturi recumbent bicycle which had failed to give any pedal resistance. Dale listened over the phone, and suggested I send him a couple of photos of what I thought might be the problem. He diagnosed the problem over the phone, a broken tension assemply and tension clamp. He directed me to a replacement parts store on-line, and once the parts were here, he came on time and reassembled the bike. It was a very complicated puzzle, since I had taken it apart, and wasn't sure where the parts came from. I couldn't be happier to find Washington Fitness Services. We have a Nordic Track Runner Flex treadmill. We needed to have two fans, the electrical chip for the console (this treadmills console raises and lowers as needed) replaced, new nuts and bolts replaced + lubricant to stop the squeaking. The other day I decided to fire up an old treadmill that had been gathering dust in our basement for several years. It ran for about a second then popped up an error code. After doing a search for treadmill repair companies I came across Washington Fitness Services. I called and spoke with the owner, and asked for his opinion about whether it was worth trying to fix it. He spent about half an hour on the phone with me, walking me through diagnostics that I didn't even know existed on the treadmill. He identified the part I'd most likely need, looked it up online, and told me the part number, price, and place I could buy one. He reassured me that if I decided to buy the part it was something I could probably replace myself. He also recommended against fixing it, since one can buy a fully functional used treadmill for less than the cost of the part. Total cost for all his help and advice: zero. Throughout our phone call, his deep knowledge of treadmills was clear: he instantly knew, off the top of his head, all about my 15-year-old model and was able to diagnose the problem all by phone. And he made two separate recommendations -- either fix it myself or sell it for parts and buy a cheaper replacement -- neither of which would bring him any business. I think that speaks volumes about how honest and ethical this guy is. If I ever have a treadmill that needs repairing (and is worth repairing) I'll definitely use Washington Fitness Services. read more
