Wasserstrom is a rip-off company... and so is Amazon Ordered TWELVE potholders for $9.73 from Wasserstrom on Amazon. Wasserstrom shipped ONE pot holder. When I complained they said "listing was a mistake so here's your money back". I didn't want a refund. I wanted the 12 pot holders I agreed to buy as advertised and described on Amazon by Wasserstrom. Clearly a breach of the retail contract that I, Wasserstrom, and Amazon agreed to when I committed to buy the TWELVE pot holders for $9.73 Wasserstrom blamed Amazon but Amazon was adamant that an accurate item description was the responsibility of the selling partner... Wasserstrom. Amazon was no help at all but then all of a sudden the 12 pot holders were relisted on Amazon as 12 pot holders for $31.99 So is it fraud, bait & switch, breach of contract, or deceptive advertising? I'll see what the FTC says. Wasserstrom has been in business for 120 years. I wonder how many customers they have defrauded and ripped off in those 120 years? read more

I have been trying to order a simple thermocouple from these guys for three weeks. I was first told they can't take orders over the phone, they will email me the part number and an order form. a week later I get someone else who emails me the order form while I'm still on the phone, great! Two emails later and another week and a half and no response at all to my order. Also, on the parts form they state they can't take credit cards, unless you use some other service they will direct you to. I ended up tracking down the part from their supplier. Avoid these guys at all costs. read more

You can't consider yourself a foodie unless you've shopped at Wasserstrom's! it's a cornecopia of restaurant pans, knives, dishware, table supplies and much much more. You can get food pans, cutting boards, some of the most beautiful racks, and kitchen shelving. In addition they have butcher paper, coffee filters,hot cups, disposable souffle pans and the list just goes on and on! It's worth a trip, believe me! read more

I was impressed. I didn't seek service, and it wasn't offered, but didn't need any and I wasn't there long; if I go back and get bad service I'll update. They have a large selection of good products, at decent prices. I was looking for a wok (still.) They only had one, a very nice, but expensive, Lodge one. I passed. But there are lots of other things individuals can use, and tons of supplies for businesses. If you're interested in cooking at all, or have a small business, or need a gift for a relative who cooks, it is very useful. Misleading advertising (on Walmart.com), completely unhelpful customer service. All around not worth dealing with.

I was looking for a deli meat slicer online and went to Wasserstrom and found a Hobart Slicer for $1871.00 (great price for a Hobart slicer). When I wanted to place order I contacted Rita Littlefield a customer service rep and she confirmed twice that the price was the price. I then went to place the order and was contacted by Joe Badenhop and was told that Wasserstrom made an error and the real price was $4,000.00. I spoke to another person named Tony and still was told that it was an error on the company's part and basically said sorry. Total bait and switch! This is a wonderful cooking supply store. The prices are way below online or specialty stores. The staff does not hover; if you go to the central desk, they are knowledgeable and helpful. If you love to cook, you will need to plan at least an hour to go through all the aisles. Also, I found terrific deals in the kitchen clean-up supply section, half the price of my local janitorial supply store. The best deals are kitchen knives, refrigerator & cupboard containers, and any stainless steel items, such as turners or lids. Some items are only in bulk, such as small table salt & pepper shakers, so think about gifts or splitting with family. read more

This review is in regards to an Amazon Fulfillment order I placed with Amazon of which Wasserman is part. I bought what I thought was a good carbon steel chef pan for frying. When the box containing the pan came, it looked like a storeroom box that had been refolded to fit around the pan which was covered with a clear plastic wrapping. I pulled the pan out of the plastic, only to discover that the pan was dripping with oil! Don't know what kind of oil, but the amount of oil in the plastic packaging started to leak through to the outside of the cardboard box! I had no idea what the purpose was in sending a pan to a customer and have it dripping with oil! Needless to say I will not order anything from this company again. read more

I recently ordered 16 dozen anchor pint glasses from Wasserstrom. Every glass in the order had defects (glass bubbles, scratches, wavy glass, non-rounded rim). I requested a return and was asked to ship back on my own dime and there would be a restocking fee. These are obviously a bad factory run and thus too low of quality to use. I consider them defective as I cannot use them in good conscience, but the company says they hold water so they are fine and will not consider them defective. Wasserstrom waived the restocking fee after requesting such, but (original shipping cost plus return shipping) will cost more than the glasses, so I'm losing the $ no matter what I do. Now I'm stuck with 192 glasses that I cannot use. read more

They were so quick to charge my credit card, but when they sent me a defective part, and it was time for a refund, they are nowhere to be found. I have tried everything to get in touch with them. I've been coming to this store every other week to get supplies for my business. Every time I go in the staff ignores me. I have to twist arms if I have a question about where something is in this huge store. They're out of stock on countless amounts of items. I called in today to have an item pulled for me at the warehouse (it hasn't been on the shelves for two weeks) I didn't happen to have an item number, so the employee didn't offer to look it up. Told me it would be helpful to him if I called him back with the item number. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be helping me, right? They had the mug we wanted but only in cases of 12. We asked if we could just open the box and take what we needed. The employee stated "no we don't do anything like that". Really? Why then are there literally dozens of open cases and single glasses and mugs all about? Someone had been eating their lunch in the back clearance area and left their dirty dishes back there. Gross. I'd give these folks 10 stars today if I could. I shop here once a year usually in late December. I love to cook and these folks sell the gear used in the kitchens of Columbus restaurants. Don't waste your money on "designer cookware" at fancy cookstores. Go to the source. Before going to the store, I went online and made a list of items to purchase - mostly small stuff this year - new measuring spoons and cups, a few paring knives, a wooden spoon, etc. I went to the store and found that many of the items were not carried in the store but could be picked up at the warehouse (without paying shipping charges). Sherman helped me with my store items and my warehouse transaction. He was wonderful to work with at the store. The warehouse is only about a 15 minute drive and the order would be ready for pick up in an hour. Items get picked up at a "will call" location at the warehouse. I drove to the warehouse and went inside and spoke with a woman at will call who assisted me with my order. She could not have been friendlier or more helpful. She helped me purchase two pairing knives (on sale and NO SHIPPING CHARGES). She went above and beyond the call of duty here. She was absolutely wonderful! We are so very fortunate to have Wasserstrom in Columbus. read more

Forced to order some spec items from here and usually deliver in a timely manner, but terrible idea to purchase anything you can buy elsewhere. If the item is not what you expected you will pay a 30% restocking fee and if the item does not work you are forced to go directly to the manufacturer so basically a middle man company. If I could give zero stars I would. Like other people have said working with this company, has been the worst customer service experience we have encountered. We ordered a new product line item at the end of 2017, which was part of the 2018 line, Wasserstrom billed me, charged me, and now they want to change their return policy. Their customer service rep told me wrong information, now i am trying to return these items because they are 10 pounds heavier than what they initially told me, now they want to charge me a $500 restocking fee! read more

I have to say "Thanks" to Wasserstrom's for having customer service representatives like Brent F.! I called from California trying to find some replacement parts after not being able to find them on the website. Brent was most professional, friendly and most of all helpful. Ultimately the OEM was called to get assistance with the order but we were able to get the order placed and at great pricing. This is a review of their website, not the brick & mortar store. All I can say is slow, slow, slow. In this day & age, there is no reason for a 2 week, let alone a month-long lead-time for restaurant equipment. I ordered a coffee dispenser on Mar 10. The order acknowlegment I received after ordering said the estimated ship date was Mar 25, which of course, I didn't notice right away. A week later, no dispenser so I checked the acknowlegment and saw. OK, I thought, we're already a week into it, I guess I can wait another week. Mar 29 rolls around and still no shipping notice. I call them and the nice woman on the phone says they'll receive it at the warehouse by April 7, which means I'll probably get it a few days after that. After my incredulous response, she offered to check to see if they could ship it from somewhere else. Sure enough, they had it in-stock at another warehouse. They might be able to ship it today. I commented that it would have been nice if they'd done that to begin with. She explained that they usually ship from the closest warehouse and the one closest to me didn't have the item. Wouldn't you think that standard operating procedure would be to ship it from the closest warehouse that has the item in stock? Not the closest warehouse that doesn't have it in stock?
