I called on Tuesday to schedule a bulk pick up (you can only schedule 3 a year) for Thursday. I called to confirm my appointment on Thursday when the truck had not arrived by 2:30, the operator found my appointment right away, I was told that it could take up to 7 pm before the truck will get here. Well it is now 11 pm and no truck. It was not easy getting that stuff to the curb, I sure hope I don't have to drag it all back to the house, that would be very inconvenient! Why schedule pickups if you are not going to show? Now I have to wait until morning to call and see what they are going to do, I know the neighbors are probably wondering why my living room furniture is out on the curb! If an appointment is made, you keep it or at least call and reschedule. Very poor service! UPDATE: I called Friday morning at 8:30 am to find out what happened, and because of the holiday the original ticket was not submitted correctly. The operator told me she elevated it to a supervisor, but I may not see a truck until Monday. I left to run some errands and when I got back all the stuff was gone! On June 30th I called WM to request a 'bulk pickup'. The representative told me I had too many items for one pickup so she scheduled 2 consecutive Thursdays for the items. I placed the initial items curbside but they weren't picked up. I called and apparently they only noticed the following Thursday as a pick up date. I was told to remove the items and place everything out next week. Considering my age (85) this is a big inconvenience. read more

Well here we are again a year later with the same poor customer service from waste management. It's an absolute crime we don't have choices for waste management companies to provide service. Today I placed two full green waste containers on the street right next to each other, only one was emptied. I called in and reported the situation, the rep said we have a truck in your area, we will swing by and pick it up. No one came by, I rolled the full can back to my side yard, just to fill out next week I guess. Can't get in touch with same rep and have to try again and again and again. Each rep gives a different story and jumped through hoops and then no resolution. Actually, we have very little choice. My biggest beef with waste management is trying to get in contact with a human being. I wanted a simple service and went through their tree online and could not get what I wanted. I then went through the telephone tree, and that took forever. This company has the absolute worst service. Their website needs a serious software upgrade. I'm moving to another state which is unfortunately, also serviced by this company. I stopped service at my current address for the 22nd of this month. Tried to order new service for the new state. Their software kept populating my new address incorrectly. THEN I couldn't change it. THEN when trying to pre-pay, which I thought I could correct the address, it populated the old address for the bill pay. Now don't say it's my credit card address on file because I didn't get that far. So I called trying to correct everything. Spoke to a gal who said she couldn't help me but would transfer me to someone who could. I was on hold 45 minutes only to be told I was going to be transferred again. I said NO NO NO I've already been down that road and I've been on hold 45 minutes. She cut me off and put me back on hold. This is the biggest piece of shit company with HORRIBLE customer service, and I'm very sorry I'm going to be stuck with this company at my new home. Look to the right. They are completely incompetent from customer service to the drivers. If I could give them zero stars I would and I'd cancel their service in a heartbeat but I am in an HOA that has contracted with them and they cannot just cancel the service. However, I will lobby the HOA to find a different service provider. It took 8 phone calls to schedule the service, which I paid for in advance, and then 3 more calls to actully get them to agree to pick up my bulky item, which was supposed to happen last Tuesday. I scheduled a routine pickup of old furniture. WM gave me the date, Monday, and time of 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It is now 7:35 PM Thursday. After calling Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with promises each day to "...get someone..." here by end of the day. After four days, the neighbors - and the HOA - are getting a little tired of looking at old furniture. On Thursdays call I was informed that the driver not only had drove by on two different days. He had taken photos for proof. The WM representative emailed me copies of the photos. They were of the first dumpster enclosure as they entered the condo area. About 100 yards and a street away. I included photos of the furniture and dumpster enclosure in my reply email. While on the call, I asked if they would just tell me "We're not going to do the pick up." Response - "No, no! We'll get it today." Tomorrow I'm renting a truck and taking it to the land fill myself. read more

I don't think this review will have any impact on service, as we have no other alternative but to use their services or take our trash to the dump ourselves. Several weeks ago I left a personal trash can on the curb with my "Waste Management Issued" container. The driver left the extra trash can with the trash in it. I was called by Waste Management the following week stating that I had an "extra" container and needed to pay for it. I explained that I didn't have an extra container, they could come and check my property. Today, after my trash was picked up by the trash man who reported I had an extra containter in front of my house was picked up, Waste Management came and picked up my trash container, leaving both the recycle containers. I contacted them by phone and they stated the trash man reported I had an extra container when they did an "audit". I requested my trash container be returned to me, they stated they cannot return it until my next scheduled trash day. I talked with a supervisor, Yvonne, who agreed to have a new trash container delivered on Monday. Since when is Waste Management allowed to steal my trash container???? read more

Not sure if I've chosen the correct site for this, but it is intended for the trash collectors with WM who work in Oceanside. Today I received a notice on my green waste can telling me it was not picked up due to contamination. So I opened the lid and noticed a plastic trash bag was sitting on top. This is the only thing I could see a driver talking about. The made me made. The driver has time to look inside and fill out a notice, but instead of removing the plastic bag, and then emptied the green waste, they filled out the slip. But NO, that's beyond them. First off, i did not throw the plastic bag in the can. I have no idea who did it. The can was placed on the street at approximately 6 pm the night before. The can is not on private property so i have NO way of controlling access to it once I set it on the street. This is total BS. WM drivers I have found over years I've lived in Oceanside are some of the laziest workers i have seen. I know not all are bad and some go out of their way to do a good job. But the ones in our area are horrible! They drop trash on the streets and don't pick it up. Sometime our block is completely missed. Not sure how this company vets it's employees but some of them need a kick in the 6 or shown the door. My father in law was a real trash collector back in the day when they had to pick up the can and dump it by hand. No fancy lifts to pick up cans. They went up driveways to get the cans. Plus they picked up any trash that spilled while doing their job. WM drivers are so lazy that if they can't use their mechanical lifts, they leave a note and move on. WM you need to tighten up your crews and have supervisors in the field making sure these guys do their job. Next Tuesday this can will go out and I'm going to make it a point to be home when the truck arrives. If he try's to do the same thing i will let him know that i am not happy and to request a supervisor to come to the location. I was scheduled for a large furniture pick up on 6/8/ 2021. I called a couple times they said they would be out, talk to management they said they would be out. Nobody has come it's ridiculous. I did everything they asked me to do. We are senior citizens so to move the stuff out is difficult. I set up an appointment somebody came out in a large truck and said they were for e-waste. The absolute worst company I have ever encountered. Like all the other BAD reviews I scheduled a bulk pick up for our Thursday regular trash pick up date. They never came! I called their c/s line the next day (Friday), and spoke with Ken (a supervisor) there, he absolutely guaranteed that the truck would be out that day (Friday). No truck arrived! I called again on Monday, and finally on Tuesday I phoned their corporate office and spoke with a woman there who absolutely AGAIN guaranteed that my bulk items would be pick to no avail! I have been with Waste Management for over 20 years, 17 of them from a different county (Orange County) I am now in Riverside county and not only are their fees 2 times higher than what I paid in OC, but they are now raising the monthly fee to a service they barely give. Looking for another weekly trash provider. If someone is looking to make some good money, and has a truck you may consider your services to us that do not want to stay with this company any longer! read more

Called for pickup of a box spring and old bed on Monday 14 December 2020. They offered the Wednesday of the same week for pickup. At the same time requested replacement bins for green waste. I have medium ones and they arrive with small replacements. The crew man asked if I was sure showing that they were smaller ones. They didn't arrive to pick up the box spring and bed. Called today at 07:03 am and talked to Alex. She said that the pickup was scheduled today. There was a follow up call this afternoon and they claimed they were picking up today some time before 6:00pm. It didn't happen either. There is too much incompetence and broken promises. I wonder what story they will have tomorrow. I wonder what's up with them not holding their agreement on a set of heavy bulky items being picked up that they want wrapped in plastic and other prerequisites. Worst service ever! They picked up recycling and yard waste and did not pick up the trash. That was on Friday. I called Saturday, they said they would be right out, didn't happen. I called Monday just after closing time so I had to leave a message and sent an email. Tuesday at 7 am I spoke to a rep and they said they can see my calls from Saturday and emails and VM Monday and said someone would be out that morning. Tuesday 4:30 pm I called again and the rep said they would file a complaint and radio the driver to ensure they picked up my trash before the end of the day. Tuesday night, still no pick up and mean while the birds are digging into the trash and spreading it all over the street, the neighbors have to look at the trash all week and I can't get one competent person to actually do what they are paid to do. I rented a dumpster from them. Their pricing was among the best of the places I called. However, they seemed to do everything wrong. 1. Extremely long waits on hold - always. 2. The dumpster was left in the wrong location, after I requested of both customer service & dispatch, that it be dropped elsewhere. 3. They repeatedly couldn't find my account - because they got my address wrong. I corrected it, they still couldn't get it right. 4. Price wasn't the same as listed on their website.
