So much for service. Walked in, the bell / door alarm goes off, and I'm standing up front for literally 5 minutes. I can see two staff (possible owners) in the back, maybe 20ft away. I tried to say hello to get their attention, and nothing, no response at all. They just continued to chat away about the TV show they were watching. I had a very poor experience with this place. The owner is unpleasant and charged me hundreds of dollars to service my watch, and after he worked on it it started to leak water. I brought it back multiple times and he claimed he tested it and couldn't find anything wrong with it. He also mansplained how condensation works and insisted that there was nothing wrong with my watch. I finally gave it up as a bad job and sent the watch back to its manufacturer, who fixed it for less than half of what Watch & Pen charged me and I haven't had a problem with it since. The manufacturer replaced several parts so the watch did have something wrong with it. It never leaked before the initial service at Watch & Pen so I am not sure that the work done on it there didn't cause the moisture leakage. To be fair, the owner never charged me for the multiple visits back to the store after the initial service, but it was still a huge pain in the neck and he didn't fix anything. This place is downtown so parking is difficult. Steer clear. read more

Watch and Pen had my Longines watch to repair a clasp for over a year, then emailed me to come in to pick up "a Longines watch". When I arrived the owner Mr. David L. Cooper handed me a different watch and when I stated this is not my watch. He said, I know, this is a better quality watch. Your watch was stolen three weeks ago." Stolen?" I asked him why he didn't notify me when my watch was stolen. He said he wanted to tell me in person. I asked him if he called the police to report that it was stolen. He said, " No, what are they going to do, they won't do anything". I asked him why he didn't tell me when he sent me the email notifying me to come in and pick up my watch. He stated " I was very specific in saying " A Longiness watch was ready, I never said your watch''. I asked him why would I come in to pick up any other watch than my own that I left with him for repair. He did not call the police or the building security company to report the watch was stolen. He refused to give me and the police any information regarding his insurance company. He stated " I 'm not going to give you that so you can file a claim, 'I'm bonded". I asked Mr. Cooper for a copy of the watch claim form. He went to his computer and started typing in additional information. I asked him why didn't he just print the form out and he said "I'm fixing the statement for you". He added a statement I had not seen before "Our maximum liability for item is $50USD unless a specific value is stated". This statement was not on the original repair bill. It would not have made sense to pay over $300 to repair a $50 watch. Nor would anyone leave their items with that kind of liability statement. He kept trying to push the watch he found on eBay that was not a replacement watch on me to accept and I wouldn't. During one of my visits back in February 2016, when picking up three other watches that were being repaired, I noticed Mr. David Cooper had left my gold Longines watch sitting on the repair counter unattended in plain sight. I asked him to safeguard my watch and he said, "It's fine, I'll make sure nothing happens to your watch". The matter is in the hands of the police and my insurance company. read more
