The man came back and unlocked the door for me, and agreed to help me even though they had closed. Both employees were extremely friendly, and I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Which was great considering I had both a toddler and infant with me (they can only handle so long before one of them gets cranky). I've had watch batteries replaced, antique watches fully repaired, jewelry cleaned, purchased heirloom quality fine jewelry for gifts, have had jewelry repaired/sized and have had numerous custom fine jewelry pieces made from start to finish. Great experience always! They are honest and fair when it comes to their service and pricing. My only call out would be that occasionally, you have to follow up with them to ask about the status of something (rather than them calling you), but other than that their service is always great! read more

Though they call themselves an estate jewelry shop, a good part of their inventory seems to be vintage-style rather than actually vintage. They have some beautiful jewelry, certainly. But for the purposes of this series of reviews on vintage engagement ring shopping, I would advise you to stop in but don't get your hopes up. I had taken my broken watch to a different store previously when the pin came out, and unfortunately, it broke again 10 days later. Luckily I came here instead the second time. Not only did John fix it within 10 minutes, he also explained to me what the problem was and gave me air warning that it might happen again. He could have very easily just handed it to me like the last person did without saying a word. Aside from the technical help, the customer service here was great. Linda greeted me with a smile and immediately got the watch over to John to fix. I was a little worried because I left dog in the car and they told me that they would take care of the watch quickly but that I could go get my dog and bring him inside if I wanted. I know most people won't be in this situation but I think most people can understand that the little things that people do are what really makes good customer service. I 5-star review only when the service exceeds the excellence of the product, and between the attention of the staff (AND owner, immediately when I walked in) and the quality of their watches, I wouldn't go anywhere else to either buy or repair my timepiece. I even walked in with one of my less expensive pieces, and almost shyly asked if they would help make an adjustment to it even if it wasn't necessarily a Rolex-- immediately they made me feel at home and took care of my watch as carefully as if it'd been one they sold me themselves. My first visit to Watch and Wares they showed me that my grandfathers vintage army issue Bulova was not only repairable but, after popping the case open, William made it run, on the spot. They cleaned it and repaired it without ruining the patina, and gave me a history lesson too. My second visit was a quick one, my dads Timex was even quicker, 5min or less, when his watch back came off they did a quick cleaning andput it back on , and for free. Not to sound too much like a commercial, but the new Watch and Wares store is pretty fantastic. I walk by often since I live in the area. You can see from the window they have some pretty nice stuff, but nothing prepared me for what I saw when I walked in. Incredible jewelry, watches and artwork. I went in because my husband needed a new battery for his watch. Now, his is nothing like what they have in the store, but they took the watch. We figured we would pick it up in an hour, or the next day. But they did it right away. Two minutes! And they only charged him $15. While we were looking, my husband fell in love with a few of the watches he saw. And I thought much the jewelry was impressive. First of all Linh is the woman who runs the shop, she is so friendly, accommodating , and kind the exact type of person you'd want running your place, especially in old town orange Linh just adds to the charm of the shop. She is very knowledgeable about all the purses, and any questions you can think of she has the answer. As far as the purse selection goes, Linh is constantly getting new inventory in, so for me it's always nice to drop in to see what new things she has. Since finding this place I have now shared it with my mom and sister, and we now make it an outing to check out the new Louie's and grab lunch, I don't know any other place you can do that except in Old Town Orange! read more

I went in to Watch & Wares to have my watch looked at. The back plate had come off. William looked at it. He spent a fair amount of time looking at it and he managed to get the back plate back on. It's been about a week since I was there. My watch is working fine and the back plate has stayed securely attached. When I asked him how much I owed, he simply replied...nothing!
