Needed a new battery on my watch and stopped in. This place is the quintessential Mom-Pop shop: HIGHLY recommend

Our goal of this review is that it would be fair and factual as to our recent custom ring…read moreexperience. My wife and I originally walked into Jewelry Savers October 4th and inquired about making a custom ring using two rings I gave her. The first was our wedding band and the second was an anniversary ring I gave her. They assured us that they could make a ring that matched the design she had provided them. The first picture is the ring desired although my wife wanted green birth stones instead of gray. The second is the first ring they produced, the last is the final ring we paid for. In November they had a wax mold ready to review prior to ring being created. We went in and the wax mold was not what my wife had asked for. We went back in to review the next wax mold, and the design was not what we had asked for but they told us that it was not possible to create what my wife wanted and this was the best it could be. Now while this was not ideal, we thought it might turn out ok and also felt our backs were against the wall as they had already removed all of the stones from our rings. What was presented as the finished product was in my wife's friends' words "a superbowl ring" My wife was in tears upon pick up. The jewels appeared smushed into the gold with no prongs visible at all. We shared we were not happy with it. At this point Monica took over - in fairness to jewelry savers they told us we would have to pay for the original ring labor as well as the new ring labor so they were upfront with us. However again - we really felt like we had no choice. My wife hated the ring and had given up both her wedding band and anniversary ring (both of which hold high emotional value) It took from October to July to produce a ring that is close to what my wife wanted from the beginning. We went in to look at it and spoke with Monica - She shared that she was disappointed in how things had worked out. I indicated we would be unable to recommend Jewelry savers based on this experience since it felt that A. We waited 9 months for a custom ring and B. We ultimately feel we were charged twice. She shared that they had been short staffed and that the first person who told us what we wanted was not possible was not employed there anymore. Clearly the ring was possible since they produced it later on. She asked for time to review with "her jeweler" to see if a discount could be provided based on our poor experience. The next day she called back and offered about 200 dollars off. Since the first ring cost 1800 that did not really seem like a company reflecting on how a customer might feel about their experience. I told her that I did not want the discount and that we would pay full price. Upon pick up she provided the discount anyway which actually made my wife upset because I had told her not to accept it so that we could leave a review accordingly. Our principle is worth more than 200 dollars. I intend to go in there next week to pay them for the remainder. Our recommendation is that you think carefully about whether or not to do a custom ring here. Ask a lot of questions because the wax mold is really not a good indicator of the finished product (at least that was our first experience). We are grateful for Monica working with my wife to produce something she really likes, however it should have happened that way the first time.

Monica was amazing, and she and her staff were so helpful through the whole process. They helped us…read moredesign a custom ring based on an online design we liked, along with a custom necklace. Neither one was an easy ask, but they worked with us and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. Thank you so much, Monica!

I just had the most unhinged experience at their Harvard location with what I believe may be Abby's…read moreson. I took my ring in to be resized in late April. I picked it up several days later and it fit, so I left not thinking anything of it. Put it in my jewelry armoire as soon as I got home. Took it out several weeks later to put on and noticed the stone was loose. It's loose enough I don't feel comfortable wearing it, so I put it on my to-do list to take it back for the prongs to be adjusted. I called the store earlier this week explaining and they advised to bring it in. My dog got sick not an hour after I hung up so that consumed the next two days and I was unable to make it back. I went in today since I'm off work and explained and the man at the desk said he remembered speaking with me. He then inspects the ring and says it will be another $150 (on top of the $250 I paid for the resizing) to fix the issue. I explained it didn't seem logical for me to have to pay additional money for what was clearly an issue caused by the resizing. The man went on about how it wouldn't be fair to them, so I said, "Okay, I'll take my ring back, then." He wouldn't give it to me! He then said, "You have some options: you can either stand there and be hard, or you can take a seat and we can see if we can work something out with you." Appalled by his aggression and his unwillingness to hand over my ring, I stated again, "I'm good standing, and I'll take my ring back now, please." He proceeds to demand I leave "his" store, to which I replied, "I will GLADLY leave as soon as you give me my ring back." He finally returned it after I asked for the third time, all while getting even more aggressive and raising his voice about how they "don't want my business" as I was walking out the door. I was shaken by the aggression as it was, and then he started following me to my vehicle, still yelling; what, exactly, I don't know as I couldn't hear over the traffic noise. I immediately locked my doors as soon as I got to my car and left. There was a security guard there who witnessed the entire incident. I was never aggressive, never raised my voice, etc., yet was met with utterly unhinged behavior. Do NOT give this company your business. Women are clearly unsafe with this unstable man.

What an INCREDIBLE place for an engagement ring. It can be difficult trying to find a jewelry store…read morethat really cares about the product they're selling and who they're selling it to.
