I've never camped anywhere where they give you barely enough time to shower. At least make it a solid 10-minute shower. That was bananas. I was scared to be sudsy and my shower cut off or something. Other than that, LOVED this place! They have a small pool that we did not ever go in, but the Virgin River was fun! Bring a tube to blow up or go buy one at the hardware shop. If we ever go to Zion again, we will definitely stay here and try to get site R15.

They do clean them every morning, but it doesn't stay clean by evening. Too many people. It's very crowded, lots of people everywhere and waiting for everything. Has the theme park experience. The shuttle is constantly running into the park from the campground. We had to wait for an hour each way on a Friday for it. There's no other way up unless you are staying at the hotel. Parking is limited and the shuttle is pretty much mandatory. A ton of locals came in that day randomly and it was super packed. The rest of our stay we only had to wait 5 mins for the shuttle. You have to buy coins for the shower either at the showers or at the local sports shop, it's walking distance from the campground. The showers are not at the campground, but next to the sports shop. They closed early one day and the machine at the showers was broken so we couldn't buy coins. We were hot, sweaty and covered in sunscreen so it was pretty miserable to skip a shower. We planned ahead the rest of the trip and didn't have to buy coins last minute. Showers get busy and there is a wait.

The drives and hikes are absolutely breathtaking. Early June meant warm temps, but the park is well-planned with water stops, restaurants, and stores throughout. The Narrows trail was crowded even in early season, curious what peak summer looks like there. Bring hiking shoes, plenty of water, and sunscreen. It's a lot of work while you're doing it, but the payoff is incredible. The photos you get are unbelievable. A must-see experience.

We were…read morelucky to both get next day lottery permits for Friday afternoon, but it turns out there were no rangers stationed there in the afternoon. I have heard rangers are usually only there in the morning, so one could probably hike without permits if you wait for later in the day. Including breaks and 20 minutes at the top, we took three hours in total. Even in March, it was hot, and I probably should've brought more than 1.5 L of water. I logged a 4.8-4.9 mile hike from the Grotto trailhead up to Angels Landing and back down again. The hike up to Scout Lookout was challenging because of the elevation, while Angels Landing was more challenging due to the technical aspect. They have chains to hold on to in most of the sections. People brought their young children to hike, which I think is irresponsible and dangerous when one small slip could mean a tumble down the canyon.

The bikes were great, Lana shared her incredible knowledge of the park but more importantly she is a delightful person. The next day was the narrows! We are both over 65 years old but in relatively good shape. Her knowledge of the Virgin River, her patience and training on using the stick as we maneuvered our way down the River was critical. I did end up slipping on some muddy rocks and really bruised my leg but again her patience and compassion got me / us back to the visitors center. Our experience with Zion Adventures and more particularly Lana was awesome ! Knowledge patience and compassion are compelling assets for a guiding company.

Seeing crowds of tourists in identical boots carrying the same poles felt like classic herd behavior and an unnecessary upsell. I was wrong. The rocks in The Narrows are uneven, slippery, and constantly changing. The boots provided great traction, and the pole was invaluable for both balance and gauging water depth. Could you buy cheaper gear for about the same price? Probably. But it likely wouldn't be as good, and you'd have to carry it around. Sometimes there's a good reason to follow the herd. This was one of those times.

The raw and rugged beauty of the giant red rocks has inspired people for generations. There are some places that are simply breathtaking, resonating with the primal human spirit and inspiring to the soul. The sense of timelessness is what really does it. You can really see how the environment took millions of years to form, and know that it will be there for millions of years to come. Any season you visit is amazing - the sharp clarity of spring and summer, to the wonderful contrast that a fresh blanket of snow can bring in the winter. It's all just beautiful. The winding road through the park with one amazing view after another, and the tunnel through the side of the giant mountain, is simply iconic. The National Park Service has done an amazing job making the park accessible to just about anyone as well. There are easily accessible, beautiful areas for children and those that aren't as hardy or adventurous. But there are also extreme trails that go back far into the wilderness for the more thrill seeking, and average trails for your regular explorer. There's a lot to see, and you can go as deep, or as shallow, as you want. Zion National Park is definitely worth visiting at least once in your lifetime. Five stars, without question.
