Came here to do some wine tasting. Before I came I made sure that this place offers wine that they make from their own grapes. When I came I saw that this place is basically a smaller mom-and-pops winery, which offered 4 of their own wines, including other wines that they imported and fermented themselves. So, I just ordered their own wines. You can taste 4 wines from a list. Luckily, all 4 were from their own Colorado home vines. I sat outside at a table looking over their vineyards. I ended up buying a single glass of their white wine. I had a good time and the prices weren't bad. Plus, they had a few cute pups (Tucker the Golden Retriever!) come up to me to keep me company. This was an amazing experience. They had a beautiful vineyard and building. They had a delicious selection of cheese from soft to harder and sharper cheese. They explained the process of making each cheese and how they get different flavors and sharpness with some of the cheeses. They also paired the cheese with two different wines they provided. We brought our own little charcuterie board to eat with our cheese and wine. Everything was very delicious. The instructor was very nice. The servers were very friendly as well. This is something I would definitely do again. So I hope they do it again because I believe this was a special event. read more

Nice little winery just northwest of where we were staying. No food. Want to bring your own to enjoy with their wine selection . Service and knowledge of wine good. Both inside and outside areas to wine taste. Myself, I wasn't fond of all their wines. Some are with their own grapes grown there. Some are produced with grapes from other places. I recommend the reds over whites. Relaxing garden to enjoy with your wine and converse with friends. I guess it's a 3 instead of a 4 because of the lack of food and types of wine. Give it a try and decide for yourself. read more

This place is our favorite winery in the front range. We come here every few months and every time have an amazing experience. The owners are very kind and their dogs are even sweeter. The wine is always great, but we especially enjoy the Zinfandel, Merlot, and Gewürztraminer. The dessert wine is amazing for gifts. The property is so beautiful and our young children love coming to walk around and play. This is the perfect spot for a casual birthday celebration as bringing your own food is encouraged! read more

Seriously the cutest off the beaten path winery! Great wine, the owners are total gems, and the property is gorgeous. We got taster flights followed by a bottle to share, and it was amazing sitting outside next to the vineyard sipping wine. One of the owners (a husband and wife duo) is a master gardener, and we walked around the extensive gardens next to the lake and it was absolutely beautiful. We also found out you're able to bring your own food, so next time we'll bring a spread to go with our wine. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a great hidden gem to sip wine with friends!! read more

We were blessed to live in Corrales NM for seven years ~ many know that NM wine is hard to beat ~ even Napa has trying-times to keep up with some of the amazing wine which is made 'on the vine' in NM. however, meeting Charles, the owner and vintner at this peaceful flower and tree packed gorgeous vineyard, known as Blue Mesa Vineyards, made us feel like we were back in NM. But MUCH happier since we are CO natives and oh sooo thankful to be home. Eight very good wines were served during the open house ~ cab's, chards, Malbec, merlot, pinots, Riesling, Sangiovese, zins and and were served by extremely knowledgeable friendly people made this an over the top TEN star visit. Toured the winery; got the science of winemaking - hoboy - drinking is the easy part. It really is a science but Bill's love of the art is what makes these wines exceptional. Short drive for an education, a tasting and case of some of Colorado's best wines. Left with a case of Bill's Chardonnay and Sangiovese; he's sold out of his Gewurtztraminer and Pinot Griego - but new batches coming in August. I love a good port - his won't be ready for about 3 more years, but we got a taste and it'll be worth the wait. Next year he and Christy are adding a wedding venue for small weddings; touring the grounds with their huge variety of native and unusual trees and flowers was an added bonus. No longer at Applejack because his quality wines don't give Ajack the profit they want so they only stocked 6 bottles per trip (his 120 miles) when it sells out in a week. I know because I've gone there to buy it. read more

We had a WONDERFUL experience here for my sister's bachelorette party! We came out for open tasting. The owners are so kind and friendly. We had a blast talking to them. The garden and vineyards are absolutely breathtaking with the view of a lake and the mountains. We sat outside to watch the sunset and the owners sent their dog, Marley, out to us carrying a can of bug spray. It was the cutest thing. We're all from out of town, so they also gave us a great dinner recommendation. Our entire group of 8 would've loved to stay there forever. I'm sure we'll be coming back if we're ever in the area again! read more

Great little gem in Northern Colorado. The wine is good, the property is immaculately kept, and the owner is one of the nicest people you could ever want to meet. I've been coming here off and on for the last five years, and they have grown quite a bit since my last visit. They have added a tasting room to the cask room, which is where they used to have tastings. If you're a fan of wine, or just want to see something you wouldn't expect to find in Northern Colorado, this spot is definitely worth a stop. read more

We loved our time at Blue Mountain Vineyards. Bill and Christie have mastered the art of crafting wine as well as establishing and maintaining a beautiful, peaceful, picturesque venue. Bringing our own hors d'oeuvres (as recommended) made our experience feel more like a special event vs. merely a tasting. We ended a beautiful evening by being offered a glass of wine of our choice as Christie guided us through her beautiful meandering garden. Found a bottle of Merlot at Fish's. I am almost exclusively a Merlot fan. But this bottle from Blue Mountain Vineyards was so flavorful. Maybe it because fall is in the air, sipping it on the outside deck, but it was so smooth. fruity, and sweet. Very fragrant in the glass. I must make a trip to the vineyard soon. read more

Visiting family in Colorado we were looking for something fun to do and decided to sign up for the tour & tasting. We all had such a great experience. Bill, the owner and winemaker is such a sweet guy. As soon as we pulled up he came out to greet us and invite us in. He has some fun stories to tell about all of the wines we tasted(8 in all). I really liked all of his wines but especially the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and the Cab. Almost all of he wines are made with grapes from California but he grows some interesting varietals himself. He is an excellent experienced wine maker. The tasting is a great value at $10 but if you buy a bottle he waives the tasting fee. He also gave us a half glass pour to drink while We walked around the beautiful gardens. It was such a lovely place and his welcoming spirit really makes it extra special. If you like wine and are in the area this is a must see/do. Also, please note, you can bring your own cheese plates etc to enjoy with the wine tasting. read more

Loved the simplicity of the wine here. The tasting was fun and the owner had fun stories to share with us. The property is amazing and you do want to bring some snacks, crackers, cheese for your tasting. They do have Hershey's kisses available in milk and dark chocolate. Wonderful place! My girlfriend and I went there this past weekend. They have a great selection of wine. There were a couple that we fell in love with. Very reasonably priced. They don't serve food but we brought our own and that was fine with me. There's benches scattered around the property with great views to sit and relax. Plus there's a nicely air conditioned room on the hotter days. Everybody that worked there was extremely friendly and welcoming. Fantastic place. Highly recommend. read more

Went to this vineyard yesterday and absolutely loved it. Cute setting, gracious hosts/owners, and most importantly great wine! Bill tells you a lot about all of the wines you're tasting as well as recommending pairings for each. After the tastings you go on a tour of the gardens with a half glass of whatever wine you want to have again. Definitely going back. read more
