This place does not take card, very inconvenient, no signs posted outside indicating either.

Plus it's right across the street from the theatres and a couple of restaurants and bars. It's located right in the heart of downtown Cathedral City. Plenty of parking with the street, parking lot, and the structure thats round the corner. When we walked in, I was surprised at how big the place was. A couple tables for outside seating and a good amount inside. The gentleman working was the sweetest. Very friendly and nice. He explained what was there as it was our first time here. They have all the selection of flavored dole soft serve. There's a wall with all the selections. Same concept with the frozen yogurt where you grab a cup, serve yourself and add your topping and then it gets weight. Except it's the dole flavors. Then there's the ice cream counter with whatever flavors you crave. Loads to choose from that it can be overwhelming, but in a good way....lol. Besides a scoop of ice cream, they also offer the fancy creation. Shakes, sundae, bananas splits, ice cream sandwiches and so much more options. I kept it simple this time with two scoops of salted caramel and cookies and cream. Classic yet so good. We now know what this place is all about and it's definitely a favorite so far. The gentleman working was a major doll and the sweetest. Will for sure be back for more ice cream and dessert. Plus, they have an amazing selection with music.

Terrible experience relayed to me by my husband Joe. This…read moreevening, my husband ,Joe went to Monster Shakes by the Mary Pickford theater to meet a friend for a sweet treat. He arrived a few minutes early and went inside to wait. The man behind the counter asked what he wanted to order, and Joe politely explained that he would wait to order until his friend arrived in about five minutes. The employee told Joe that he could not wait inside unless he was ordering ice cream immediately. Joe again explained that his friend was almost there, but the man nastily told him to wait outside instead. My husband, not wanting any confrontation, went outside and stood in 104° weather waiting for his friends. When they arrived, they all went inside and still spent about $25 on ice cream. What upsets me most is that there was no apology, no explanation, and the store was completely empty at the time. Nobody should be treated this way, especially over simply waiting a few minutes for a friend inside an ice cream shop. I will absolutely be contacting the manager or owner to understand why this happened. I can also guarantee that I will never recommend or return to Monster Shakes after hearing about this disgraceful treatment of my dear husband.

We finally had a chance to stop by at this store. Unbeknown to us that they have "point-point"…read morereadily cooked food and they serve my favorite halo-halo! We didn't try the food, since we just ate, but we ordered halo-halo. WOW, I'm impressed, they are worth every penny! It's got plentiful tasty, unique, ingredients. Love every bit of it. Even my husband whom I normally share, "I eat while he drives" a spoonful or two we're very impressed! He actually love it ! The service were fast! I appreciate that she asked if we want sugar in it,which we opt to. It's just right without it. I like the cleanliness of the store and both of the ladies we talked to were very kind! I appreciate and thank the lady who prepared my desserts, I saw you wash your hands before preparing my halo-halo, thank you ! Clean, no odor, kind people,

Stopped here at Fil Am Oriental Market based on the 4 star ratings on Yelp, but when we walked in…read morethe store, we didn't get that friendly vibes. I can see/sense the look on the owner ( lady) like what are these locals from Hawaii doing here, visiting and checking the store, of course. The reason for visiting was to support local and grab Filipino foods for our late lunch. I can say that the shop is very nice and organized, no plans for grabbing grocery items, noticed the prices are on the higher side, price you pay for Palm Springs. One thing that looked very interesting to me and am afraid to try is the packaged Balut. Nice to see they have Kent Mangoes on the counter for $2.99. We stopped in about 3 pm and the hot food choices didn't look good as the Yelp photos, I was thinking to get a plate to give it a try but the staff said that they sell everything ala carte, hmmm.... I am use to getting plates by 1-2 or 3 items. If we were to go with the food selection at Fil Am, I wouldn't know how many orders to get and how much our total would come out to, see that it can get pricey! I think we all passed and left to go to another biz for our Filipino foods. I would get the Filipino desserts but we all wanted to get out of the store quick since it felt like we weren't welcome in there.

And have proven themselves to be true artisans in the art of shake elevation. The extraordinary libations they concoct seem to defy logic, seeking to enchant each drink with a level of divine deliciousness not often attempted, and rarely accomplished. But this they manage to do. Each time. So hats off to Monster Shakes for their whimsical creations, and the supreme love they have for their customers. Your dedication to your community is made stronger with every ring of a bell that signals a new customer at your door. Thank you.

I have been here multiple times under the last owner and I had the best experience, but no matter the quality of the items, the service was horrible and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Visit Cat City location or Great shakes in downtown Palm Springs:) It was a small misunderstanding and the owner went out of her way to try and correct me, even went as far as going back and forth with me. She should have politely corrected the issue which was over sample cups for some reason they don't offer sample cups in an ice cream shop. It was very rude, she came around the counter and pointed out the sign that read something about sample cups that I didn't see because they advertised a new flavor so I immediately asked the employee to try it and he didn't explain the process very well and I clearly asked so I just try it from the cup and he said yes. I then went over to try the product and she came around very rude instead of guiding me. I didn't order anything because of the obnoxious response from the owner. She proceeded to tell me to have a great day with a snippy attitude as if she knew nothing would happen to her business with just one bad review. Hopefully this review guides you to better locations so that you can have a wonderful experience elsewhere. I will never return...

While in the Palm Springs area for a 5 day visit with my wife and my mother-in-law, I made it a…read morepoint to visit a couple of Filipino restaurants. With a recent expansion to their space in Cathedral City, this location has become a gathering place for Filipinos in the Coachella Valley area. Thus we went out of our way to find this place for dinner. I found it to be mixed, and can't really recommend their food. It's a nice space inside, with a fast casual setup (order and pay first, and the food is brought to you when ready). It wasn't particularly friendly when we first arrived to the empty restaurant, but it got better as we ordered and ate. Cheesesteak Philly Style ($15.99) and Apong's Special Philly Style ($16.99). They come with fries, with an upcharge of $1 for cheese. Both had grilled mushrooms and onions mixed with the chopped steak. The Apong's special adds both cheese whiz and american cheese to the standard provolone. Both are served on Amoroso rolls from Philadelphia, which is genuine, but not particularly fresh when brought in daily. (the rolls tasted a bit stale to me). The amount of meat given could induce a hungry person to order a double portion as well, though it was just right this day. I definitely like my cheese steak with cheese whiz, and this version confirmed that (though if not offered, a good dallop of mayo is good as well, mixed with the melted provolone). Strangely, the showstring fries were the most disappointing part of the meal for me...fries can be good if the right effort is made, but that wasn't the case here. They had been deep fried a while before, and had been sitting in a warmer until served to us...thus were dried out and pretty flavorless. With what we ordered, a new batch of freshly made fries would have gone a long way to put us in a good mood, especially for dine-in. Chicken Mami Soup ($14.99) - a large bowl of chicken soup. For this price, would have hoped for something more homemade. The broth was fine, but seemed to be made from either canned chicken broth (benefit of doubt) or more likely chicken powder. Also used dried spaghetti noodles, which is not something I seek out. It did have pieces of white meat (breast) and fresh chopped vegetables like cabbage and carrots. Tasted fine, but wasn't particularly hearty. Reminded me very much of saiman, except for the price. Halo-Halo ($14.99) - it was good. Few beans (which is often used as filler), but instead large pieces of sweet plantains. It also had plenty of condensed milk and two large scoops of ice cream (both ube and vanilla). Used crushed ice, instead of shaved, which does make a big difference in consistency, but understand it's harder to do since time consuming. Apong means grandmother in Ilicano, which is the third most spoken native language in the Philippines, after Tagalog and Cebuano. The owners and workers seemed to be originally from that region; and it's really nice to use such a nice term of endearment for their endeavor.
