I have eaten previously at the other two sites, on Perez Road and at The River. This place is amazing. I felt at home and the food is always great. While it is at a more desolate spot, it is across from Tony's, Teamomo, and my barbers. It is an excellent spot with arm chairs, couches, and colorful chairs and tables. The kind service staff is always helpful. I am always about the food. The spaghetti is better than most. The Mami soup noodles and lumpia are to die for. And I just feel warm and loved in this space.

This was the same Apong's at the former Perez Street location in Cathedral City and I thought it was the same ol same ol. I was wrong. The new location on Date Palm and Gerald Ford location is a hidden gem and the inside is very welcoming. If you've been to the Philippines, the setting is similar. As a Filipino American born, I'm impressed with the "Escape to Manila meets with High Tech Bay Area" settings. You still have the Cafeteria style settings, which is the staple style restaurant, you normally see in the Philippines. Restrooms are very clean and packed with amenities. I'm ecstatic with the place and that's an awesome improvement than the last location. Service, make no mistake, you will feel at home more you're in a restaurant. The cashier is very helpful and understanding. She suggested an $11.00 plate deal, with Pancit and a choice between a 1 piece leg or thigh fried chicken piece or 4 lumpia Shanghai. I opted with the chicken and I ordered lumpia and type price of $16.00 I spent is worth it. Food is amazing and fulfilling. If you're looking for a Fried Chicken other than the Commercialize like KFC, Popeyes and even Jollibee's, Apong's Fried Chicken has the various herbs and spices and it's not salty nor bland. The texture of panko instead of flour makes the texture perfect and it orchestrates the taste with it. Pancit or Filipino pan fried noodles, similar to the Chinese Chow Mein, is a must try. Very dedicated ingredients of veggies and chicken, as well as herbs, spices and sauce is well put together. The taste is fantastic and it's not salty nor bland. Delicious!!! Ube Cake and Ube Ice Cream is a new trend and the rave of delicious is skyrocketing with the general audience. I recommend stopping at Apong's Philly Cheesesteak and Much More, if you're craving Philly Cheesesteak or Fried Chicken. I recommend the Pancit as well.

It's now open and decided to give it a try! Place is big and spacious inside and definitely doesn't match the outside lol but Service was great food was delicious! I'll be back!

Took a vacation to Palm Springs and we were driving along and saw a sign for Philly cheesesteak so of course I grab my phone to yelp it and see what it's all about...surprise surprise it's a Filipino restaurant! That made the discovery even better! The next day we head over to get a Philly and end up getting a Filipino breakfast plate instead and so happy we did! Don't judge a book by it's cover! Its in a small shopping center next to a strip club but go inside the food and customer service is GOOD! They have a little bit of everything on their menu from Phillys of course, Mexican food, fried chicken, American food and yummy Filipino food! 4/5 stars - Tapsilog (w/ marinated beef) comes w/ garlic rice and 2 eggs. we also got a side of Longanisa sausage

New space same great taste- been coming here for years now from the small space off Perez to the River. This is definitely a place to bring the family and have a dinner together. Pick up lumpia for a family meal and it was done in 10 minutes- the food always taste great

I used to really like this place for the chicken and the Filipino food. I have gone to their old locations in Cathedral City (Perez Blvd) and at the River. They were always nice and friendly and the service was top notch. Not any more. I was excited to try their new place on Date Palm when it opened. The first time I went there, there was a very rude woman at the counter who I had never seen before. In Filipino/Tagalog, we would call her "Bastos" (rude). It was a somewhat heavy-set woman that really seemed like she didn't want to be there. She took a long time just to acknowledge we were there. Then when we ordered, she acted like she was annoyed and that we were bothering her. I just chalked it up to her having a bad day. OK. I let that pass. So I went back this past weekend on a Saturday. As you can see in the picture I included from their website, it says they are open until 9:00 pm on Saturday. I walked in with my wife and our grandson at 7:45 pm - thinking we had over an hour to order and sit down to eat. As soon as we walked in, the same rude woman mentioned above yelled at us from behind the counter: "We're closing in 15 minutes". I said, "Oh. The website says you close at 9:00". She rudely replied, "Well look on the door. It says we close at 8:00". We just walked out. I wasn't expecting them to stay open for us or anything. But how about some civility and not making customers feel like they are intruding? The correct response would have been, "I'm sorry for the confusion. We have to update the website". Or something to that effect. But to imply that we are wrong (when the website clearly says they are open until 9:00 pm) and that we should have looked at the door for the correct hours is just plain rude. We won't be going back unless they get rid of that woman or they tell her she needs to change her attitude.

I came here with my family and we had the pancit, chicken adobo, lumpia, Turon, halo-halo and a supreme cheesesteak. Let's just say there was not much leftover. Everything was amazing and I would order it again. Their service was friendly and helpful!!

Small shop with hot food and made to order options, with a few table for enjoying your foods. The menu has all the different Silog plates, specials and loved that they have photos of the plates. There was a miscommunication with the staff on one of my orders but they apologized and was very caring about it after. The one thing that I wish they had are prices on the hot food selections, I wanted to get the sinigang soup and staff mentioned it was 2 item for $18.95 which I found out after our food came out that it the sinigang is not part of the 2 item special. Pinapaitan came out which she mistaken me for sinigang. The Sinigang soup is $18.95 per order. Our orders: Silog plate, pancit and lumpia plate, lechon kawali, and sinigang soup, the lechon and sinigang soup does not come with rice. Which we need lots of, hehe. it is $1.50 per scoop. I LOVED the sinigang soup, loved all the veggies in there, eating this sure brought back memories of my momma's soup. My son and hubby agreed. The pancit bihon was super tasy! The lechon kawali wasn't the greatest, didn't come with the tomatoes and onions. I did order way too much, packed the leftovers for our hotel but ended up not eating it. I wanted to finish up the pancit and soup we had dinner plans, ended up dumping the food. so sad! Next time I visit Palm Springs, I will be back for more Sinigang soup and pancit! Check out Meng's, ( -sounds Chinese) they have been in business for over 10+ years, great spot and cuisine! Oh & way better than that viral hyped place at Seattle's Pike Place.

I can say that the shop is very nice and organized, no plans for grabbing grocery items, noticed the prices are on the higher side, price you pay for Palm Springs. One thing that looked very interesting to me and am afraid to try is the packaged Balut. Nice to see they have Kent Mangoes on the counter for $2.99. We stopped in about 3 pm and the hot food choices didn't look good as the Yelp photos, I was thinking to get a plate to give it a try but the staff said that they sell everything ala carte, hmmm.... I am use to getting plates by 1-2 or 3 items. If we were to go with the food selection at Fil Am, I wouldn't know how many orders to get and how much our total would come out to, see that it can get pricey! I think we all passed and left to go to another biz for our Filipino foods. I would get the Filipino desserts but we all wanted to get out of the store quick since it felt like we weren't welcome in there.

Their golden oreo style Joe-Joe's cookies are like crack-cocaine. I can scarf a whole box in one night! I don't do that anymore, I'm in cookie recovery. But I know one of these days I'll fall off the wagon but I'll be fine with that. They have great prepared foods like meatloafs you can toss in the oven when you don't have time to make something from scratch. I love their Atlantic salmon with lemon herb butter. That's really delicious. Sadly, some products come and go. They used to have a sweet onion bacon vinaigrette that was phenomenal. We not only used it in salads but also to saute Brussels sprouts and other veggies. My entire household was sad to see that disappear. They have a great selection of supplements and very affordably priced skin care products which, according to some instagram users, claim are just as good as high end products that sell for a lot more money. Their fresh cut flower section is incredible. They're so fresh and are better quality and the best priced compared to any other grocers who carries flowers. They also have beautiful orchids and many different varieties. They sell a small collection of plants that always gets my attention. And like everything else at TJ's, their prices are better than anywhere else. Lastly, I have to give a shout out to Trader Joe's consistent excellent customer service skills. Trader Joe's is a shining example of a customer-centric culture with really great employees/staff that are engaging, know their product very well, are very willing to help and are down to earth. A few weeks ago I came in for taco Tuesday, discounted tacos and they are always good. This time they didn't give me all that I paid for. Seemed like an honest mistake but I was already home when I noticed and so I called them to let them know. They asked for my name and how many tacos were missing and said I could come back another Tuesday and get them. No big deal right? Well I went in to ask about them today and I was told that nobody had written down my name and that I needed my receipt. But to pick up the tacos I had to give my receipt to the woman in the kitchen so I have no receipt. So I was simply dismissed and told no. I had already ordered and paid for two burritos today, I guess this is the last meal I will have here. Yes the food has been good. But to have been a customer this long and to be so easily dismissed leaves a bad taste in my mouth. We have our own business in town (a restaurant) and we do not treat customers this way. I have referred hundreds of people to Baja Springs, that also stops today. This is the prime example of it takes time to gain a customer and one day to lose them. If this is the way management treats me I don't want to continue to be a customer. It's not about money, it's about morals and ethics of at least acknowledging a customer and not just dismissing them like it was my fault for them not giving me what I had ordered. I'm sure they will continue on in business and do well, they just won't get my money anymore. Thanks for taking the 12 years of me being a customer and treating me like I truly don't matter at all. I guess I'll take my business up the street to the other market. If I don't matter I guess you won't miss me.
