    "Matcha" latte

Love their logo and merch - really nice aesthetics. My friend got a matcha latte and it way too sweet with barely had any matcha. I don't recommend. I got the latte with cardamom and it was tasty! Moderately sweet. Chai latte was also good! Service was a little slow for me. I had to stand there and wait like 5 before someone came to take my order or even acknowledge me lol

It's a tad off the beaten path, more on the west side and inside a building containing several other businesses. The line was shorter than what you'd see on front street and the food options might have been a bit more plentiful as well -- rewards for walking 5 minutes farther. My coffee was delicious as was my breakfast burrito. High recommend!

Apparently many coffee shops in Traverse City close on Sundays in the off season, but not Water Bearer Coffee! Which would explain why it was hoppin' on the Sunday afternoon we were there (the line was out the door!) but once we tried some of their beverages we also realized, the line was out the door because it was also GOOD. Really REALLY good. I went with a mocha (made with my beloved Grocer's Daughter chocolate), and my husband went with a latte. As we were finishing up ordering we also saw their smoothie menu and both opted for the Tutti Fruitti (strawberry, banana, cherry, coconut water). Both the coffee beverages and the smoothies were SO good. We had plans to eat at another spot a bit later so we didn't grab any food but the menu looks excellent. A nice casual option we bookmarked for our next visit so we wouldn't forget! The space is also very comfortable and welcoming. It's not huge but there's a good amount of seating and the decor, including the beautiful water mural inside, create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The staff was really friendly, too. It would make a great casual spot to meet a friend for a bite or grab a coffee and catch up on some work. Before we left I went back to the counter (the line had thankfully died down) to pick up some coffee. My mom had requested I bring her a few bags of beans from up north so I picked out a couple for her and one for us. I don't recall them offhand but they were all single origin and the flavor notes on the bags were very accurate. And, not surprisingly, they have all been excellent. I hope they expand to whole sale throughout Michigan, I would love to buy their stuff even when I'm not up north.

Not that I don't enjoy healthy food, I just want as much food as possible and in as much quantity as possible. But, sometimes when you're traveling with other people, you have to give in to other options. That being said, I'm glad I was able to find something enjoyable. Which would have been difficult because there were so many choices to be made. I could come back three times a day for fifteen years and try sketching new each time. I could also be lying. But seriously. Choice variety 10/10. My choice bowl was a kale/banana/pineapple/coconut milk base (green bowl), with sliced bananas, blueberries, granola, and hemp seeds. I like fruity/citrusy/juicy fruits, so this sounded the best. I had zero expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. The decision to mix it all together was probably a good one and I ended up eating it all like a weird green bowl banana blueberry cereal. It was a little less fruity than I expected, but still had solid flavor. Taste level 7/10. Because I'm a gluttonous hound, I also thought it would be fun to get a smoothie to add to my already expanding gut. I chose the kowabunga with included banana, blueberry, pineapple, and coconut milk. I expected it to sweeter than it actually was. Though I expect all my foods to be sweet. Flavor profile 6/10. The atmosphere was pretty much par for the course for an establishment like this. Nice open area, waiting chairs, dine in. Several people waiting for to-go orders. The service wasn't terrible. Two workers running the show. That could very well have been the reason there was such a wait on our food. Though I can't imagine putting all the things we ordered together was a speedy situation. Service speed 6/10. Service accuracy 10/10. The three stars ultimately came from the flavors of the items I got not meeting my flavors criteria. And as a certified Chunky Monkey, I need my flavors.

There were unusual choices too, which was interesting to see. The service was friendly and the food came out promptly. I went with the chimichurri omelette. It was made up of prime rib, hash browns, mozzarella cheese, and chimichurri sauce. I never saw this type before, so I wanted to give it a try. I also had a pancake instead of toast. The pancake was cooked a tad over, but it was alright. The omelet was large with plenty of meat incorporated. It was unique with the chimichurri sauce. It helped offset the lack of seasoning of the eggs. I also tried the Traverse city cherry salad which had turkey and cherry salad, pecans, dried cherries, Monterey Jack cheese, and tomatoes with a raspberry vinaigrette. This had a good flavor with the combination of raspberry vinaigrette and cherries, but there was way too much mayo or miracle whip in the turkey. Will I go back? Most likely.
