    Leelanau scramble and special plate
    Katy C.

I'm familiar with the Omelette Shoppe so I was happy that they had availability for breakfast while Nate and I were in town recently. We were able to grab a seat right away and our server was attentive and polite. The space is a bit small and cozy, but seemed clean enough. I ordered the Special Plate: eggs, bacon, fruit and choice of toast or pancake. Nate got the Leelanau scramble: spinach, wild mushrooms, scallions, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, and goat cheese. Our food came out pretty quickly, which was nice, as we were on a bit of a time crunch. I really liked the special plate - the eggs were perfectly cooked over medium, and the bacon was crispy. The fruit was just okay but it was a nice addition. Nate like his scramble and toast. Overall the prices were a bit higher than I was expecting but nothing outrageous. I like the option to pay via QR code.

If you are looking for a cheap, cute, and yummy breakfast in Traverse City, you must stop by The Omelette Shoppe! My friends and I stopped by on our trip and loved it! A few things you should know before you go: 1. VERY SMALL! We had a party of 5 and did not fit in the booths. I recommend only sitting 4 in a booth and if you have more in your party, split up. You will not be comfortable. 2. Usually a wait on the weekends (summer especially) so when you get there put your name in and walk around downtown while you wait, they will text you when your table is ready. 3. No iced coffee 4. Get a few things to share with the table. We tried a few different dishes like the cheesecake pancakes The staff was so friendly and accommodating to those with larger parties and strollers. Definitely will be back when im in the area!

Kerry was attentive to our breakfast needs and approached our table with a smile. The cherry cheesecake French press was delicious! Kerry asked if I wanted a to-go cup for my extra coffee. Her timing was excellent as I was wondering how I could drink it all before leaving. I eat gluten free and they have many accommodating items. Would eat here again if I visit the area.

The basics with an extra egg (soft scrambled)

They have solid ingredients (good quality bread, eggs from local hens, really good sausage links per my husband, etc.) and even upgraded condiments (each table has freshly ground salt, freshly ground pepper, spicy ketchup, regular ketchup, and hot sauce) but there was way too much butter on everything. We each got the basic plate but felt the scrambled eggs, hash browns, and toast were all drowning in butter and couldn't finish. Also did not love the coffee, which tasted like old poor quality coffee. Inside was busy but spacious and service was relatively fast, but server was unapologetic when we pointed out she charged us for two coffees when we only ordered one. Not a huge deal though as she did change it.

I wanted to give this place 5 stars but the only reason I won't is because the service was a little uncouth and rough. The servers seemed to run this place a bit like a toll booth, if that's an accurate analogy. It's kind of an average looking hole in the wall, but the food was excellent. We were seated fairly quickly and the silver ware (wrapped in a napkin at least to dull the fall) was literally dropped on the table and she was off. Then we had another server, who was very pleasant and easy going. She took our orders and everything was served quickly. My vegetable skillet was delicious, with nicely done eggs, a good amount of veggies and potatoes, served piping hot. Everything was good here, and some, but not all of the servers were just a bit rough around the edges. But that won't stop me from going back if I'm in TC again.

Wow. Just wow. The food is fabulous. I had a California veggie omelette and strawberry shortcake pancakes. They were to die for! I wish I could remember our waitress's name, but she was lovely and made suggestions. And the coffee was pretty good too... The guy next to us said the food was so good it made him wanna cry. I agree!

Busy little place, we had to wait 45 mins on a Monday morning (off season). The staff were just wonderful, very friendly. The food is typical cafe food and was tasty. We were boring and just got eggs, bacon and pancakes. Would visit again.

Classic small town diner experience serving gf breakfast favorites, coffee and juices. They also have a lunch menu. The decor and the ambience welcoming, and homey. The is friendly. Very nostalgic family diner vibes. Great food too.

Pros: - Easy to find - Quick to get a table, even when it's busy - Great food and huge portions Cons: - A bit loud when full. I love that it's busy for them, but it's a loot of people for me in the morning when I'm waking up. - Service was just ok. Food came out timely, but the server was not very attentive. It was a bit difficult to get out check

So delicious!! Waitress was friendly and quick service. Will definitely be returning!!

So, I was expecting the food to be slightly overhyped. But, I was definitely wrong. I went with a colleague of mine and we were lucky enough to stop by during their happy hour so, we went all out on the appetizers. We ordered their calamari, the sliders, the beef Korean tacos, and the flat bread. Immediately I was blown away by how fresh the food was. Particularly the Thai calamari. As for the Korean beef tacos- the beef was so tender! The protein on the sliders was tenderloins and those were equally delicious. The flat bread surprised me a bit! Ingredients include hummus, feta cheese, spinach, tomatoes and an additional assortment green veggies. So I was expecting it to be a cold dish but it was actually warm. The bread was exceptionally soft. There was not one mediocre thing that we ordered, everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. The interior isn't much to look at, like I said the restaurant is located inside a hotel. However, with food that tasty who cares about the interior design of a restaurant! That being picky though, the place feels welcoming and is brightly lit and feels well cared for. I ordered the Pot Roast ($20). It's described as slow roasted with carrots and onions and mashed potatoes. It was fantastic. The meat was tender and delicious. the gravy was perfect without overpowering. The carrots and onions were a great compliment. Plus the real mashed potatoes were made to perfection. Smooth, yet still had the potatoness to the texture. The taste was one of the better mashed potatoes I've had in TC. I don't know what they do th their TC Cherry Coke, but it is spectacular. Lastly for dessert I got their Lava Cake ($7), it was fine, but disappointing after such a great meal. I don't know if it was from frozen or what. However the texture was a little off andvthe taste was only okay. I wouldn't get it again. The service was very friendly and super helpful. Overall a 4 1/2 star review. Since I have to round, I'm going to forgive the dessert and give a full 5 stars. Would I return? Absolutely. Especially if I'm craving Pot Roast.

The risotto was outstanding--loaded with incredibly fresh vegetables, smoky tasso ham, creamy raclette cheese, and one of the best pestos I've ever tasted. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about risotto for breakfast, but it absolutely worked. The cast-iron cornbread was also excellent, especially the honey butter glaze and the whole kernels of corn throughout. The service was warm and friendly, even during a very busy brunch. This is definitely on the pricier side, but I felt the quality of the ingredients, the creativity of the menu, and the care that went into every dish made it worth it. My only food-related criticism was that my poached egg was just slightly overcooked, but it was a very minor issue in an otherwise exceptional meal. My biggest suggestion for improvement would be the acoustics inside the dining room. When the restaurant is busy, the noise level becomes overwhelming and takes away from what is otherwise a fantastic dining experience. I ended up sitting outside, and the patio was peaceful and relaxing. I hope the owners consider adding some acoustic treatment because the food deserves an atmosphere that matches its quality. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying several other dishes on the menu.
