I have loved Leffs for years and will continue to love it! I went last night with my parents and brother, it was much easier thank cooking before the Christmas holidays. We sat down right away and it wasn't too busy. Our server was very attentive and checked on us often which was very nice. There was a drink spill which she was very helpful with and made sure we were all good when it happened. As for the food, wow! We ordered an app of cheese curds because when in Wisconsin you have to. They are so light and airy, the batter is crunchy but not too thick. The cheese is gooey and soft, and the curds themselves are large. They are probably top 5 cheese curds for me. After that I ordered the Bayou Burger with cajun seasoning, dressing, and pepper jack cheese. It was amazing! It was perfectly flavourful and spicy. I ordered it with a side of fries which were hot and crispy. I cannnot recommend this place enought. Normally would not be my first go to for a bar/restaurant, but I was with my sister-in-law and brother and my sister-in-law highly recommended it so we went. It appears this place is not hurting for business.! the bar and restaurant itself is huge and also has a huge patio area. Very busy. The concept is to sit yourself down and one of the workers will come to your table. In my mind, I was thinking it was going to take forever to get a server, but somebody actually came within five minutes of us sitting. My brother had the patty mount which it sounds like he has every time and he's never disappointed. I love a good Cubano and since that was on the menu, I had to get it. I was a little disappointed with the size of it because it is on the smaller side, but the taste definitely delivered. The fries were amazing and I also ordered the deep fried pickles which were really good. My sister-in-law had pulled pork sandwich with side salad. Our server was nice and surprisingly never took too long to get back to us to check on us considering how busy it was. Also, prices were not through the roof surprisingly. I have driven passed it quite a few times, but since I don't spend much time in the area, never went in until recently. Conveniently located just outside downtown 'Tosa, this bar and restaurant is a great place to have a brew and a few bites, and watch the Brew Crew or even a live band. The food is solid for the expectations of a bar. The service is great as they're pretty attentive to check on you and see if you need something. David and I went to Leff's for a noon Packer game. The atmosphere was perfect and the food was delicious! We will definitely be going back for future sports games. Although it was packed, the food came out super quick and piping hot! The cheese curds are a MUST to start! If you have ever been to Hot House in Menomonee falls or Reveres in delafield you may recognize the flavor. All 3 restaurants are owned by the same people and it's obvious. We are big Hot House and Reveres fans, so I'm not surprised at all that we loved Leff's! David got the pulled pork and it was so good. The pork was smoked nicely and their barbecue sauce is delicious. The bread is soft, so make sure you don't expect a toasted ciabatta. I liked the soft bread with the pulled pork, but I think it confused David. I got the chicken bacon sandwich and it was delicious. However make sure you get an extra ranch on the side to dip into. The amount of ranch on the burger wasn't enough to cover the pretzel bun (which are always a little dry in my opinion, no matter where you go). Oh I was right! It was so much fun! My spot was around mile 3 to direct runners/walkers to take a left. There was anywhere from bonafide runners ‍ to runners in training to people pushing strollers! First two tasted sour? Our Wauwatosa host thought the tap lines needed cleaning? EW! Food order included clam chowder (tasted like canned soup - small bits of clams), house made pub chips (burnt and greasy), On Wisconsin burger (nothing memorable - just a burger - too little beef and too much spongy bun), Balllpark pretzel (best part of food order but, just another pretzel), Haystack onions (the pretzel and these got my 2-star rating), patty melt (gave me serious gastric pain - very greasy), and shrimp tacos (far more taco than shrimp). Atmosphere was very Wisconsin - appears to be a locals spot where out-of-towners may not be welcome. Wait staff was pedestrian - went through the motions but, did not seem to care whether we were there or not. Again, we think locals who never venture out of Wauwatosa go here. Cannot recommend this place for tourists. Food was just food, some beer tasted off and atmosphere/service was not worth the tip we left. Recent remodels have pushed the capacity of this place into overdrive and all the room they have there makes for a happening place to get it on! Visited Leff's on a Friday evening around 5:30. The establishment was busy but we were seated quickly on the patio. Nothing fancy here, high top steel tables with basic condiments and napkins in a wooden box. Service was friendly, fast and efficient. Ordered vodka gimlet cocktail which arrived quickly, then again a bit later. The second was distinctly better than the first. Ordered the garlic Parmesan wings appetizer and then the fish fry as a main. Eight wings arrived in a basket with ranch dipping sauce, and a couple of celery slices. The wings were juicy and very tasty, really liked them. The fish fry came with fries, a small cup of cole slaw, lemon wedge, and buttered rye bread. The fries were crispy just the way I like them and well flavored. Three pieces of beer battered cod were nicely fried and flaky but unfortunately lacked seasoning. The bill for the two cocktails, appetizer and fish fry came to about $55 tip included. All in all this was a decent dinner experience and a return visit is likely. read more

Love this place. I had the patty melt which was wonderful. Took 1/2 of it back home for lunch the next day. For a side, I had the spud muffins. There were two of them, also sufficient for the next day's lunch. Never had a spud muffin before. These are exceptional (biased of course and subjective opinion). They consist of shredded potatoes, onion and cheddar cheese then, I believe, they are baked. As a side benefit, they are included with some meals as the "side". It's as expected for the pretzel and chicken tenders and fries - all pretty good. I've been to Leff's quite a few times and each experience is a bit different. This last time I visited all of the drinks that my table of 6 ordered tasted like jalapeño... (including the water) requiring quite a few of our alcoholic drinks to be remade which then tasted fine, but made me think twice about what I was ordering. I've had several lunches at Leff's this summer (2021) and have to say that I really like the open air space of the larger dining area that opens into their patio. I've sat at the bar to eat a couple of times and also shared a two-top with a friend. Any location in the area affords a good view of their several TV screens to watch sports shows or a game. Food wise, the fare is good, but nothing to rave about. The burgers are a bit small(ish). The tuna melt salad sandwich is not albacore (white meat) and is a bit thin in the amount of tuna. Everything appears to be "portioned" on the smaller appetite side of the coin. One thing I really like here are their "haystack onions." They are the bomb! Order them for your side instead of fries. Parking is a bit tricky here. Even during lunch hour, street parking is at a premium and there is no parking lot. If you are not afraid of walking a bit, you'll have no problem. All in all, Leff's is a great place to hang out, have a drink and watch sports. read more

I have been to Leff's a number of times. And here is my quick review: It's just okay. If you are looking for a rowdy night out in the burbs, this may be a good place to be, but I find myself making excuses to go somewhere else all of the time. When it's busy, it's REALLY busy here! Like, I can barely squeeze through the standing room only around the bar. And because it can get so busy, the service can be a but spotty, mostly because the service staff needs to carefully navigate a crowd of drunk adults. That's another thing - this place feels like a bar for the community. It feels like the gathering place for young moms getting away from their kids for the night, a place you would go to watch the game with the boys, or where you host the beginning of a bachelor party. It's not my scene. I personally prefer quieter places with specialty drinks and fabulous food. This is not that place. This is a quick bite to eat and a beer instead of cooking at home. The food here is mediocre. It is your typical bar food. Nothing fancy or special. Most of it is doused in oil or butter. Don't get me wrong. It hits the spot every once in a while, but this is white, Midwestern food. Simple flavors, familiar dishes, and so much dairy! The drinks are also just okay. While prices are right, the consistency in drink strength was all over the place. I've had drinks so strong I can barely finish them and drinks so weak I couldn't taste alcohol. Not a fan of that inconsistency. Here are some of my issues: The drinks are inconsistent in strength and taste. The wait staff seems to get overwhelmed when they are packed and it impacts wait times. Leff's is fine. It's grown since a lot the last time I was there in 2010. I used to come occasionally for their wing night (I like others betterh. I came with a group from work for dinner. I got wings. They tasted the same as I remember. Their cheese curds are very good. They are super pushy with drinks. What can I say about Leffs except the fact that I loved it so much I went two days in a row. The day before St. Paddys day, it was a quite corner bar with tummy food, Irish drinks and lovely music and greta camaraderie between the customers. Loved seeing a lot of fun talking to each tower even if they just met, and sharing vaccine notes over a cold beer. The place just pulls out conversation. The next day being St. Paddys day and the Bucks playing. This place was PACKED! Lots of emotions flowing as the Bucks tied the games but the bar tenders and servers kept hustling. We had a problem with our first order of Ruben rolls but the bar tender noticed and immediately reordered them on our behalf. The staff is super friendly, they love to take care wow their customers and very accommodating. We met a dllady who's brother came to Leffs so frequently that Leffs named a chair after him. So freaking cool, loved that about this bar. Go for the affordable drinks, cocktails and yummy food and stay for the conversations and Camaraderie Update: went back to Leffs recently and got the shrimp tacos with healthy hash and sausage hoagie and both were so tasty. The hoagie might have been a bit much bread but tasty nonetheless. Love the shrimp tacos and the spice. This was the local restaurant to support for today so I went over and ordered the bacon cheeseburger to go. My order was ready pretty fast and it's curb side only so you can't go in. I was completely at aw when I opened the container and looked at what the bacon cheeseburger comes with, absolutely nothing at all. I couldn't believe that it came with zero toppings and it's literally just bacon and cheese, I don't even remember ever getting a cheeseburger that came no toppings at all. My bacon cheeseburger was ordered rare which was cooked correctly so thank you. The bacon cheeseburger was completely underwhelming with no toppings and just cheese and bacon so it didn't satisfy me at all. The bacon cheeseburger comes with a pile of chips and a cold pickle wedge. I definitely would not come back here again after today's lunch stop. read more
