This place has really turned into an amazing dining experience! My friends and I tried it before the covid thing and it was awful! The weird man Henry telling stories about how he used to be a chef made us feel bad for him. We went in again this past weekend and wow! The food was 1000 times better than before! The huge tables were so great we all fit and no uncomfortable wait while they shuffled things around. The ribeye was outstanding, and I loved how they have baked sweet potatoes as an option! The atmosphere here fits into a classic Golf Course Clubhouse. It all looked clean, but it did seem a little worn down. Plus it felt like they were trying to hide that with dim lighting. On a plus side they have a couple of live edge tables for sale that are really nice. I ordered a 3 Choice Bbq smokehouse combo ($27). I got Ribs, Pulled Pork, and Shotgun Shells. The ribs tasted decent, but were not tender at all, in fact I had to use my knife to separate the ribs. The Pulled Pork was very good. The Shotgun Shells, which are a group meat in a pasta shell wrapped in bacon and covered in bbq sauce, were good. However, the pasta shells were dried out and tough. The bbq sauces were very good. For the sides I got baked beans and deconstructed street corn. They were both very good, probably the best part of the meal. The person I was with ordered the Burger ($12). It was declared to be very good. The service was friendly, but not very efficient. Long periods of the waitress vanishing or talking with other waitresses. Overall a 3 1/2 star review. However I'll be rounding up to 4 stars, due to the sides, the pulled pork, the sauces, and the burger. Would I return? If I was in the area, then yes, otherwise no. read more

Most of the food is good,although i would not recommend the pot pie. It was the consistently of thick soup with small shreds of meat & vegetables. They do have seasonal menus, soup, chili, drink specials, happy hour and desserts. Nice dining area with fireplace and large windows and views of the golf course. Cinco de Mayo once again found us at this restaurant. This time I got the taco salad, but I had the taco meat replaced with grilled chicken (good choice), my husband got their brisket tacos and a friend got quesadillas. All of it was great, as you can see from the pictures. The chicken on my salad was perfectly grilled and the taco bowl itself was not over cooked, something that tends to frequently happen at other restaurants. While the salad was very good, I would ask that any future salad be served without the refried beans that "glued" the bowl to the plate. I'm not sure, but there may have actually been refried beans in the salad too, and while I DO like refried beans, I prefer to not have them in my salad. No biggie though, I will just ask that they not be used in any future salads. Service was great! read more

We just had our 50th wedding anniversary party at Water Tower Grille in their banquet room. We invited 150 guests and they all said it was great. The food was fantastic! They have a great catering selection you get to taste test ahead of time. Our menu consisted of: * Pulled pork * Bourbon chicken * Mashed potatoes * Cornbread with whipped honey butter * Mac and cheese * Baked beans * Deconstructed corn * Lemonade * Infused water * Coffee * They even made some chicken nuggets for the kids We also had a cash bar. They set up tables for us to display memorabilia and one for us to bring our own cakes. We were able to decorate it the way we liked a day ahead of time. We set it up for music for dancing and karaoke. They have great food and are the most reasonable venue in the area! People went back for seconds and we still had a lot of leftovers to take home. I had the opportunity to check out this little gem with my sister the other day. We had the wings for an appetizer and we both got one of the combo platters. Guys!! When I say there's a lot of food here, what I mean is 3 days of leftovers!! For $25 a platter you get 3 choices of smoked meat, 2 sides, cornbread, and pickled cucumbers and onions!! Overall I have to say it was pretty good with some room for improvement. First off the deconstructed corn whatever is supposed to be a play on Mexican street corn. I'm not sure how this fits the bill. There was no seasoning to be heard of other then salt and it was straight up DROWNING in butter!! It tastes okay. The meats I got were dry thus time around. I have to take my sister's word for it that this was a one off. The sauces were tasty. My favorite was the sweet and spicy. My sister got a bowl of broccoli which I have to give kudos for making this from fresh and not frozen but when the flowers turn yellow, it's time to call it quits rather then serving it. It tasted weird and she didn't eat more then one bite. The rest got thrown away. For dessert we had the chocolate cheesecake that was unbelievable!! Best part of the meal! Overall for food quality and freshness, I can't go more then 3 stars. Execution gets 3 stars as well due to the dryness of the meat and the ridiculous amounts of butter. Ambiance is off honestly. It's a quaint space reminiscent of an outdated bistro, a wanna be golf club, and... something rustic. I say pick a theme! Modern rustic would be a easy transition, 3 stars. Service was also lacking. The waitress seemed rushed to get somewhere else and never took our appetizer order until we also ordered our meal. My sister had to ask another waitress to bring her lemon for her water which was ordered at the same time as the water. And it took a solid half hour after we were ready to order to actually order. Then, nothing was ever removed from our table once we started being served, 2 stars. Cleanliness seemed on point. Nothing much to say there, 5 stars. This gives this location an average of 3 stars. read more

The waitress was great. The place was clean. The food was fantastic. This is a golf course restaurant so you have views of the links while you eat. I honestly wasn't expecting anything spectacular when I took my Mom here to eat. Generally golf course restaurants are average at best if you ask me but the food here was really good. I got the olive burger and fries as did my mother and my daughter got the chicken tenders. The chicken tenders we hand made and dipped! My daughter said they were amazing. Yay smokehouse! I'd recommend stopping in for lunch like we did. It's not super busy and we got our food pretty quickly. I don't know if I'll be in the area again anytime soon because my Mom is moving but if I am this would be my choice for lunch. read more

We like this restaurant, the food is good and the environment is friendly. I am not a buffet person but they have menu options. I got the combo meal with shredded chicken and sausage. It came with sides and corn bread. My husband had a burger and fries. The food was delicious and so was the deserts and drinks. I definitely recommend this place. It's a hotel so you don't notice that there is a restaurant in there. I haven't stayed at the hotel. We had the fried pickles for our appetizer and oh man they are so so good! read more

My wife and I were in the area and needed some lunch. Drove by the gold course and saw the Grille so we gave it a shot. Wow. So surprising. My husband and I went here for dinner to try their new menu. It was a beautiful night so we sat on the deck outside. Maddy, our waitress, was very helpful with food suggestions. My husband had the pulled pork dinner with Cole Slaw and Baked Beans. I had the half order of smoked beef brisket with Hush Puppies and Homemade Chips. Portions were so big that we both brought home leftovers. Menu also had burgers, salads, wraps and dinner entrees like salmon and steak for those who may not like smokehouse meats. We had a wonderful Father's Day Brunch and were anxious to try the regular menu! We were not disappointed! Tracy gave us excellent service, was sweet and kind, and everything we ordered was amazing! Starting with the Bloomin' Onion appetizer to the 1/2 BBQ Chicken meal and the Smokehouse Salad, right down to the cornbread and sides, everything tasted great! I was even impressed with the local Michigan Pinot Grigio from St. Julian's. All for $40 bucks! One thing we didn't pay for but also thoroughly enjoyed was the view of the Candlestone Golf Course! We were at Sunday brunch on mother's day. Not at all worth 19.99, the beef tips were so tough I couldn't get my fork in it. We had to wait for salad and butter for the rolls. Why is it you get hard butter with cold rolls, so you can rip your roll trying to spread the butter. Never do it again. We could of went to Red Lobster for the same amount of money and had drinks. read more
