Perfect to watch the boats and free water taxi coming and going. Our waitress was very busy. We didn't see much of her, but she did a nice job for having so many tables. We tried the clam chowder. Way think and rich. I'd love to see more clams, but only because I like mine full. There was plenty in the bowl though. Needed a little more salt & pepper, but I like that it doesn't come out over seasoned so we can fit our taste buds. Husband had the 1.5lb lobster . He said it was really good. He said he needed at 3lb to be full. French fries were crunchy on the outside and perfectly soft in the center. The way I love them. I ordered the "fried" haddock Ruben. I ordered mine broiled instead. Perfectly toasted marble rye bread. The fish was pretty buttery and not a large piece of fish. Maybe a little too much for my personal liking. Stopped here for lunch while spending a couple days in Camden on vacation. We sat outside on the covered deck. Service was on the slower nice and food was average. Since my husband doesn't like seafood, there were a lot of things on the menu he wouldn't eat or share. We got an order of the house crafted bread when we arrived which had 4 large rolls. We only needed 1 each. I got the fried haddock sandwich with fries - it was edible - I was indifferent to it. Their fries felt like the frozen kind. My husband got the roast beef dip - he felt the same about his sandwich as I did mine. Beautiful view on the patio where we sat. We were there today. The hostess was a curt woman in her 50's. She was very rude. Food was good, service good, wait staff lovely. SHE IS AWFUL! I could see the young woman at the check in look of horror as the hostess grilled us about our service dog. He is 10 lbs. wears a vest, medallion, and I have an i d card which I offered to show her. We were very polite and answered every question honestly and professionally. We also were dressed nicely. She told us that they "would not" provide anything for the animal in the way of food and water. I have never been to a restaurant where that was stated before I sat down. We never expected any special treatment. I understand she has a responsibility to her restaurant but I've had less grilling by airlines! There are nicer ways to greeting customers. One of the only places open on a Monday evening in Camden. We put in our name, and the host mentioned it might be about an hour and a half wait. We said we were fine with inside or outside seating, and he noted that might make the wait shorter...and it did! We were seated in about 10 minutes, just enough time for my wife to get a glass of wine at the bar. We ended up inside but still had a nice view of the harbor. Service was spot on and very attentive. The food was good...not the best we have ever had, but for a Monday, it was more than acceptable. Came to Camden to spend time with my sister and to share the Edna St. Vincent Millay statue with my granddaughter. I have been here before, but not for awhile; it was quite good. I had a fried haddock sandwich with fries, my sister enjoyed a yummy caesar with anchovies my granddaughter and her friend enjoyed a cheeseburger and the pasta special - penne with shrimp. The receptionist - they don't take reservations-said we would overwhelm the chef and sent us packing. While taking in this info, she seats two parties of 4! I may not be Einstein, but 8 is more than 6 right? And used two tables instead of us only needing one. They have an area where you can order from the bar and wait, which we were willing to do. While you wait you can order a drink from the outside bar window or go in and grab a drink inside and sit in their outside waiting area. I had the oysters that were sooooo amazing and my husband had the burger! I'm a burger connoisseur and this burger was so good with a delicious grill flavor, brioche bun, and actual fresh looking lettuce, Tomatoe, pickle. We had the chowder. Very good. Honestly would give this place a 4.5-4.6 star review. we happened to stop here along route 1 looking for lobsta and while we did get a lobsta stew, the rest of the meal was delicious! Food: we got the scallops (seared perfectly, well cooked) and fish and chips. By far the best fish and chips I've had since New Zealand. The fish was very lightly battered, and it was haddock so it wasn't oily. 10/10 would recommend. We also stared with the lobster stew which was very large and had a lot of lobster bits inside! Ambience: we came here at night but did sit by a window. I would have loved to see this place in the daytime, super cute. The lobster roll on a buttered roll turned out to be a grilled burnt hot hog roll with a a small amount of lobster with no taste for $37. Went to the Waterfront on a recommendation from a local. Glade we took his advice. Restaurant was packed with a one hour wait. We found two spots at the bar and decided to eat there. Bartender was quick to clean up from the previous patrons and got our white wine and greyhound started. Bartender recommended the fish and chips. My wife decided on the fish and chips and I got seafood jambalaya. Even though the place was packed we received our meals in less than 10 minutes. Drinks were awesome. Classic coastal seafood restaurant decor. We had a premium table next to the window with a fabulous view of the harbor. Unfortunately that is where the positives for this visit ended. The food was average at best. The seafood platter was plentiful and lightly battered but absolutely no seasoning leaving the shrimp, scallops, and haddock bland and almost tasteless. Our server was worse. He took my drink order as we were looking over the menu. My drink arrived when we were half finished with our meal and then only after I asked about it twice. If all you require is a classic decor and a great view, this is the place for you. If you are looking for great food and good service, keep looking. read more

First the good news. The waitress was excellent, friendly and timely. The view from the deck is fantastic. Now we can talk about the other stuff. We ordered spicy chicken fingers as an apetizer. They were soggy and not very hot. I'm not sure what they put in their spicy sauce, it has an unusual smell. Not a bad smell but unidentifiable. We then had the haddock fish and chips. My husband's piece of haddock was very small and it was loaded with bones as it was not properly filleted. I had twice as much fish as he had so I gave him some of mine. We both ordered our haddock well done. When I cut into my haddock water gushed onto my plate making my French fries soggy. The fries weren't hot. The Cole slaw was okay. It would have been a 30 minute wait for outdoor seating with a view of the water. Ellie/Ellen is the most pretentious restaurant/manager/hostess. I put my name in for a window table for one person at approximately 1230 and agreed to have a cocktail at the bar while I waited. She said it would be about 10-20 minutes which I was fine waiting. At 330, 3 hrs after I arrived, I brought the fact she, Ellie, (manager/hostess I wasn't sure) never seated me at the view table (or any table). She said "you were working at the bar on your computer and I thought you no longer wanted a view table". What??? I had been waiting for hours and she never interacted with me again after I reluctantly went to the bar. I knew she would ignore me once I went to the bar because I was alone and she seemed annoyed when I said I was going to work for 1.5-2 hrs at the table. Look, I'm a big tipper and my bill was $50+ just for 1 person. I've been a waitress, I know it's all about getting the most money per table but that doesn't mean she should discriminate against a single female wanting a table for 2 with a view. When I insisted I be seated at one of the empty view tables (there were 5 now), she threatened to throw me out of the restaurant. I'm not joking. She said I was "drunk" (I had one cosmo) so I told her that her accusation was defamatory. I wasn't drunk, I hadn't even finished my 1 cosmo, I was just pissed. It was crazy! She's a pretentious, arrogant sociopath who was trying to gaslight me because she screwed up and forgot about me at the bar. She should have just admitted she forgot/overlooked me. No biggie and then fixed it by seating me at a view table. But bartender Josh makes an awesome cosmo without the libtard drama. Shaken served in an up glass. I even got attacked by another local libtard at the bar who said "Ellie" was justified in throwing me out because she controlled everything at this crazy blue state liberal bar. The local restaurant folks in Camden are virtue signaling arrogant libtards who do not like folks who aren't "from" here (even though I've lived here 4 yrs). This episode was unbelievable. Unfortunately the view is great but I'll NEVER go back here due to the way I was treated. It was a perfect day up in Maine and there was nothing better than have a beer on the outside patio seating. We had to wait about 12-15 minutes for a seat outside, but we just had a drink at their bar and it was definitely worth the wait. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. When our table was ready they escorted us over. Our table was right against the railing. Watching the boats scoot by and feeling the light breeze was very relaxing. It was so relaxing that we ended up with a bottle of wine, which our waiter helped select and let us try. The oysters were very fresh and the clam chowder was good as well. We were not that hungry for much food, but loved the view so much we just stayed and enjoyed our drinks.
